Zero-One Others: Metsubou Jinrai discussion thread
Wiki
Was wondering why Raiden didn't go back into space. Guess he had to hang around to complete the Metsubou Jinrai quartet.
I've been thinking this for a bit, but as much as I enjoy Zero-One as a series, doesn't the technology make no sense. Why do animal macguffins revive an evil satellite AI? You'd think there would be some significance to Metsubou Jinrai as a group like it being a parallel to the four horsemen, but their name just means Destruction Thunderclap.
What even are the Progrise and Zetsumetsu Keys? It definitely doesn't take anything away from the series, but it would have been cool if the systems had been better thought out rather than be akin to magic.
Also they totally stole that guy wearing a headphones gag from that Stan Lee cameo.
Wait why is MetsubouJinrai just killing all t hose Humagears. That doesn't seem like something Jin would want. Oh he's not in control. I guess that makes sense
Oh Yaiba is in this too?
Wait, how is ZAIA Enterprise making Humagears. Isn't that the property of Hiden Intelligence?
Cool building for ZAIA Enterprise Japan
What the fuck was that ending?
Looks like the head of AIMS is the obvious next big bad in the series
It's nice to see the Zero-One characters as always, but I think this story stunk. Arkland was a good villain though
Edit: Oh yeah, that end song is great. The band's vocalists are also the ones who voice the MetsubouJinrai driver

Re: Zero-One Others: Metsubou Jinrai released
Based off Project Thouser's 2nd episode, Williamson was able to rebuild Jin. Arkland may have stole Jin's schematics from Williamson's files.
I have strongly mixed feelings about this one. I didn't like the ending, the fights are alright.

I think that my feelings have turned around a bit translating this. But that ending really sours in the mouth

I like to watch another Takahashi written KR again. Not something that was too short like Ex-Aid or a pandemic compromised like Zero-One but one that is produced well with more than just 45 episodes.

For some reason I was getting major Matt Barry vibes from Arkland. Good villain, but I really hate his over-the-top accent.
Not quite sure what was going on with that ending? Or most of the story, actually? Ah well, looked cool?

They really didn't do a good job with the cliffhanger for this one, now we gotta wait the rest of the year for the second movie to finish the story arc @_@
I do like the concept they're going for, but the execution is a bit lacking. They seem to have wasted Azu being any sort of plot element and the 'big bad' ended up being steamrolled in seconds once things got serious. The concept of Metsuboujinrai as its own unique sentient personality is interesting, almost like its come to the same conclusion of destruction as Ark did but on its own terms. I'm wondering how they'll wrap up the logic for it all with the Vulcan/Valkyrie movie.

Re: Zero-One Others: Metsubou Jinrai discussion thread
I think I loved it even more than REALxTIME which I was surprised by. Definitely a bit of a dark, downer. But I assume it'll get resolved in Valkyrie/Vulcan. I just find myself enjoying any overdramatic WTF story when it's characters that I love and actually care about. Plus, I trust Zero-One a lot so...
That's unlike the Kamen Rider Specter movie which was complete nonsense and just shat on what little redeeming qualities Ghost actually had. (Though the Ghost arc on Zi-O and all of Saber are doing a good job of sort of polishing Ghost's memory for me.)

That ending may in fact the cruelest thing that could have happened. Like... that's a hell. That is a straight up living hell.

I will miss As being the harbinger of Ark and kept failing at it. I'm also with the crew about the ending. It was not a typical KR ending at all.

I would absolutely pay for the Blu-ray, but there's no English subtitles
