Don't forget to vote on the poll!

This starting dialogue has this weird wind noise

There it is! Dino Blue's flip!

What? She caught the whip and threw it back. That's cool cause they never do that

Hey where did her uniform come from during the transformation? And... now we're in the garage

LOL Green's got the moves (at least for his transformation)

OMG the Zaurus Commander's battery charging scene is hilarious

Wait, you have a shot of her transforming with bloomers on. Why didn't you -

It's funny because it's like 80-90% well done, then you get a weird pause when they're doing their victory thing at the end and reminded that it's still an amateur production

What?! Why did that last mook explode?

Green can flip too? Where are these dudes from?

No witch this time. Come to think of it, what happened to the guy she was talking to in ep 1? And the last enemy isn't the dark Dinnovator? Feels like this series should have another episode or two

Edit: There was a clearer shot of the English this time. After flipping it, it looks like the word is "Connecting"

I really love that they're not afraid to break tropes. Last week, we had the interrupted transformation (which is VERY rare in a TOEI production) and the minute-long powerup. This week, we have Pink interrupting attacks. I like to think the garage area is a sort of subspace that they go to for battle, ala Ultraman Nexus or early Megaranger.

Speaking of sets, they're up to four locations now. The garage/industrial building, the yard area where they were training, the path by the fenced area, and the bridge trail. It could be just me, but it really feels like the scenes from last week and this week by the bridge were shot in the same afternoon, with Green replacing Blue after the shot but using the same mook actors. Also, I'm pretty sure both of the areas with fences - and possibly the trail area as well - are all part of the same property. It wouldn't surprise me if they had one of their porn studios in that building, which means not having to get a license to shoot or worry about schedules.

I have to admit, Pink's got some great legs, and they really make sure you know it this ep. She did a pretty good high kick and almost every shot of her was situated to show off those thighs. The shorts were rather comedic, though. They also were pretty careful in picking her top, which made her chest poke out a lot more than you normally see on a Japanese girl, despite her not actually having the biggest talents.

I really like the energy with this cast. It actually feels like they're having fun doing this, and all the acrobatics seem to give them a more playful side. Green running from the monster he created was a fun way to end th4e episode, although I was rather disappointed at how quickly the fight ended. It should have been a two-parter. But I guess the reversal from last week on who was late to the party kind of justified it. And it looks like next week, Pink will be late.

While there were a few things I preferred from Wakusaver, they're largely cosmetic (more interesting generals and more "realistic" looking hero costumes being the big two), I'm amazed at just how much of a leap in quality this series is over that one, especially since they were likely filmed around the same time. And comparing Dinnovator to KR Revile, I can honestly say I prefer Dinnovator in almost every aspect so far outside of episode/series length. That's pretty sad.

It does make me glad TV-N has taken a break from TOEI, though, because third-party stuff will soon surpass the official shows if TOEI doesn't step it up, and it's about time these lower-budget shows started getting the exposure they deserve.

I know I already said this last week, but it's just as applicable this week as well: that was surprisingly good. Like, it's still a GIGA work, but it delivered where it needed to. The stunt choreography is solid, there was a small B plot to contend with, the humor remains good, and that's probably the best MOTW design yet. It was entertaining, and as Lunagel would say: "Ass!"

I just wish they made these episodes longer. At about 10 minutes long, it's easy to imagine building it out for another 10 minutes or so - though they'd need a wider selection of shooting locations to make it work.

On a side note: how on Earth does Wakusaver end up with a festival? What would a festival for that show even entail?

Right? This is why you don't request that the heroes take it: they'll do so and throw it right back.
OMG the Zaurus Commander's battery charging scene is hilarious
To (ab)use my bad pun allowance for the week: why, it's a golden shower of energy!
Green can flip too? Where are these dudes from?
Did anyone check to see if they're porn stars? Or perhaps GIGA is hiring outside of its normal pools for male talent (and thus that's where they get such athletic actors)?

Given that Wakusaver turned out to be a multi-season project, I'd say it stands to reason that Dinnovator will be as well. GIGA can swap between them on a monthly(ish) basis, releasing a porno after each batch of episodes has finished airing. Which means that if they're confident that they're going to get multiple seasons, then they can setup things that don't have to be resolved in the current season.

That's a very reasonable bet. It seems like they're filming all of this stuff in a day or two, and given the low budget, they wouldn't have a second unit to film things later. So yeah, they're likely filming every scene set at a given location all at once.
While there were a few things I preferred from Wakusaver, they're largely cosmetic (more interesting generals and more "realistic" looking hero costumes being the big two), I'm amazed at just how much of a leap in quality this series is over that one, especially since they were likely filmed around the same time.
Ditto. After Wakusaver, I wasn't especially excited by the Dinnovator announcement. But this is leagues above Wakusaver in almost every way. It's a rapid improvement in very little time - though it makes me worried that the next season of Wakusaver will be a step backwards.

It's funny because you could combine all of Wakusaver into one episode and it works, but this show actually does entire plots in those ten minutes. They could easily pad it out, but things are so tight with this show (and I'm not talking Pink's shorts) that I almost feel the padding would hurt it. Meanwhile, Wakusaver would have benefitted from the padding. It's very weird how that works, since you'd expect it to be the opposite.

If this were another company, I could see them going back and doing an "extended edition" where they add more scenes or dialogue and introduce new locations to fill out the remaining 14 minutes or do for each episode. But again, I actually feel like Dinnovator would suffer from having longer episodes, at least for this season. Now if they came back with full-length episodes for s2 after taking some notes from Zen, I think we'd all be happy with the results.
On a side note: how on Earth does Wakusaver end up with a festival? What would a festival for that show even entail?
It's almost certainly a meet and greet.

I would imagine they'll have a little stage show, sign autographs, and that's about it. Basically a typical AV event only with perhaps a five minute "performance". And considering they teased it as "somewhere in the city", my bet is they're either planning to do it as part of an actual JAV event or (more likely) hit a handful of small theatres around the city over the course of a couple days as a sort of mini-tour.

Did anyone check to see if they're porn stars? Or perhaps GIGA is hiring outside of its normal pools for male talent (and thus that's where they get such athletic actors)?
I'm gonna guess they're either the kind of JAV actors that like to have both heads mosaiced or are local non-porn talent that signed up in the hopes that the exposure will get them an actual acting career.

I have an odd feeling that's the route they're going to go. One short season to test the waters without blowing a wad (well, I guess someone does anyway in the season finale) and if things go well, they make a new season and put more effort into it. Wakusaver was probably far better received than they'd expected, although I still feel like they filmed this show at the same time, so maybe they wanted to try a couple formulas?

Either way, I'm betting the Wakusaver porn did far worse than they expected while the show did far better, so they'll be making some changes for s2 based in part on how well Dinnovator's doing and the collective feedback. Still not going to be a grade-A series, but I think Wakusaver s2 will have a lot of its flaws ironed out. Besides, they've already done all the introductions, so they can focus on an actual plotline this time. It's also very possible they'll hire a new director (or use Dinnovator's) to help improve the quality.

And that's the part that's throwing me for a loop right now. Wakusaver is such a niche thing; can an event for it really draw in a meaningful number of people?

Then again, these oddball stunts seem to be working for GIGA...

Hot damn. So I was right.

I'm glad to see GIGA is hiring some more well-rounded screen actors here. Having dudes who can do handle stunts has made the show quite lively, especially compared to Wakusaver.

Nice find, khunjuice!
