Farewell 2023, welcome 2024!
Kind of a boring but productive year. Did some socializing, while spending most of my time focusing on little projects and taking care of the new puppy

Re: Farewell 2023, welcome 2024!
Had a lot going on personally, some good, some bad. Lost my 14 year old cat to cancer (knew she wouldn't make it through the year so it wasn't unexpected), but got two new cats. Had another kid in May, so he's been taking up most of my time. Managed to pay off two years of back taxes, yay. Got a new 4k tv, new cat bit the damn screen and broke it, had to get it repaired.
Currently I'm most concerned about a package of chocolate and candy my brother sent me on December 8 which bounced around Chicago for 6 days, was then sent to Texas, back to Chicago, then Tokyo, then Texas, back to Tokyo, back to Chicago, and as of December 30th, Russia. (He called to ask what the fuck and apparently some clerk mistyped the country code or something) Anyway the communists have my chocolate and I want it back

Seems like that kind of year, I lost the old dog I was taking care of for my cousin and my friend put down her dog that she had since it was a puppy, so not a great year for pet owners

/me reminds luna to do her taxes this year. I'm helping!

Sweet new 4k TV

I'd be fascinated to see the state of the chocolate if you ever do get it. They say melts in your mouth, not in your hands, but I'd rather it be in my hands than lap the distance of the Earth in travel. Your chocolate should get mileage points

Re: Farewell 2023, welcome 2024!
A bit late, but I finally got my own house last year, no longer living with my mum. Finally I have more space to store my megazord and physical media collections! Also got a promotion at work in the end of year rejig, although speaking to my manager today, it'll be a few weeks until I have any real new duties, given meetings need to take place with me and others. But hey, they're already paying me my new salary, so I'm not complaining.
Oh, and in December I bought a NAS and I'm currently in the process of setting up my Plex server as I wrestle with subtitle edits and hardsubbing everything I have. Basically out of a desire to be able to conveniently watch toku on my TV through my PS5, instead of having to sit awkwardly at my PC like I've been doing for over a decade. (Or what I sometimes used to do, where I'd HDMI my laptop to my TV, which was just awkward.)
