All of a sudden my Samsung Blu-ray player won’t play very recent MP4s

Hello! I watch all of my stuff on my Samsung Blu-ray player with a thumb drive, and while it won’t work for MKV files, it’s always been totally fine with MP4s. I haven’t been following King-Ohger, but I’ve been very excited about Boonboomger—but neither it, nor its ads, etc. will play. Do I need to re-encode it somehow, and if so how do I do this? Computer stuff on this level has never really been my skill set – I was an English major… Can anyone help me?

If it's the 1080 versions, we switched codecs for the encoding, so maybe your blu-ray player doesn't work with those? (Maybe it can be fixed with an update?)

Our 720 versions still use our old codec so that should be compatible at least

I will try the 720 versions! More as this develops. I hope the 720 versions of the series will also work on the site I find them on....

Yeah, sorry. The new format does mean the quality of the video looks better and it can be viewed using VLC or other video players on the computer

Also, I usually upload the week's commercials on Tuesdays on our YouTube channel. Sometimes I have to cut stuff fro copyright reasons:

If you download the video from YouTube, they convert things to MP4

A last resort could also be to reencode the file to something that's compatible with your Blu-ray player
