I'm sorry but I didn't think it was as awesome the rest of you guys said it was. I think I'm going to blame SK for that as he needed to bring hype to it.

.....I hope you're joking. :/

And I built a hype over it because it was awesome.

That story was not only great and genuinely tearjerking, but it also adds something to one of the main ongoing plot points....

Spoiler
While it was heartwarming in this episode...if the Phone Bravers are able to tap a glitch to the point of connecting THROUGH TIME and CHANGING THE PAST TO ALTER THE PRESENT...imagine if it was Zero One and not Seven who did it first.

I think this was also an exhibition of the whole "their power is terrifying" thing, too. Loved it. :D-with-jitters

Your spoiler tag brings up a good point. I was curious about that too, and it is scary because that happened. I guess we'll have to wait and see if anything more develops from it.

I may just end up repeating what others said, but really I'm out of words to describe how good it is.

I just finished watching it and I'm still trembling.

You aren't alone. In my case, it had nothing to do with Kouga's hype. My parents were refugees from the Vietnam War and thus it is a subject I have spent a lot of time pondering. The Vietnam War was a messy contradiction that left the United States divided. The conflict plays a big role in my own sense of identity so the episode didn't impact me in the same way.

The story didn't pull on my heartstrings since I am used to war stories that leave people with "ghosts of the past".

... Putting that way and it does feel like we're making a big deal over something that's a common fact that goes with war... But still, not everyone has that knowledge, as shown by hero's lack luster report... Even if it's normal for ghosts of the past to be left by any war, it's still an important message to send.

I didn't think about it in that context. I just thought of it as this pilot as a guy and his wife who were separated. Thinking about war in a broad sense just kind of dehumanizes everything. It's like Ooobasan said at the beginning when she rebuked Yuri for romanticizing war

That wouldn't work at all. If they did that, Keita and Seven would never become buddies, would never discover the ability to call through time and would never be able to use it to save Takimoto. It'd cause a paradox that would destroy time

You can't get most young people to understand this sort of thing. Whether it be viewers, or characters in the show. :/
If (or when) they take it seriously, it's not the way that it really should be. It's not really all that hard to understand, but some don't get it.
