Kamen Rider Kuuga

So I just finished watching Kamen Rider Kuuga today. I remember hearing people talk about how great it is, how it's one of the best Kamen Rider shows ever.

I find myself underwhelmed.

I found the series very boring. No story, no development, no conflict to speak of, no drama, no truly interesting characters, and the fights were monotonous and boring. I found it even worse than Den-O.

In an attempt to appear less bitter and hateful, I will refrain from bashing the series in detail in the opening post, and simply ask a question:

Why do some people love Kuuga? What do you like about it?

I liked the characters and the story between them. The enemies were interesting because one wondered what their true motivation was.

Also, since I'd like to do this project someday, I'd like to keep this thread as spoilerfree as possible.

No deal. Cause takenoko may or may not be spoiled by discussion here, but that doesn't definitely mean that others won't be spoiled. Regardless of the "Warning Spoilers". Besides, we have retained a "no spoil" site for...6 years? It's better that way because it keeps a lot of "slip ups" and "oops" posts from happening in other threads.

I've only seen the first four episodes, and the only thing that irritated me was that Kuuga's human self seems absolutely stupid. That and he's not pretty to look at in the least. Not to sound snobby or what have you, but I like my shows to have a good looking cast.

I've seen the first five episodes and I find Kamen Rider Kuuga absolutely fantastic.
-The action scenes are so inventive (the first episode's climax is on a helicopter.....A HELICOPTER!) that they put newer shows like Den-O or Kiva (which usually have fights on 5 sets max) to shame.
-The music score is absolutely awesome.
-The characters have good interactions, are well-developed and aren't angsty pretty boys (*cougheverythingfrom555oncough*)
-It actually feels like a Kamen Rider show. Hibiki (which was originally called something else but the evil suits in Toei/Bandai decided that KR name = toy sales), Den-O, and Kiva are all Kamen Rider in-name-only.

I want to finish this show a lot. I truly, truly enjoy it.

Yes, the helicopter scene was pretty cool, I guess.

Kuuga is the first Heisei Kamen Rider and it's the first kamen rider that is not a cyborg.

I found the series quite raw and interesting, rather than the later series of kamen rider which some of them are more like kid's stuff ... Personally I would point out interesting series that comes with good story and good characters are like Kamen Rider Agito and Kamen Rider Kabuto ...

Anyhow, I can't really give any input on Kuuga, but it does look pretty good from clips and such that I've seen. Maybe I'll check it out. =O

If I remember correctly, Kamen Rider Amazon was the first non-cyborg Kamen Rider. He was experimented on, but not fitted with cyborg enhancements./
