Or even better yet, find the Showa era series, Kamen Rider, V3, X, Amazon, Stronger, etc. and THEN you will be ready. Only when you can snatch the grasshopper off the motorcycle will your training be complete.

I was the same at first I had no intrest in Kamen Rider but now i actually think it's better than sentai. I would suggest start with Kiva and work your way backwards through the seasons that's what i'm doing at the moment up to kugga anyway only the hesiei series really

Re: Is Kamen Rider Decade a good Rider series to start with?
Go in this order...
Kamen Rider, V3, X, Amazon, Stronger, Super-1, New Kamen Rider (Skyrider), ZX, Black, Black RX, Shin, ZO, J, then you can take a break for about five years, then Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, 555, Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, and then finally you will be ready for Decade. Of course, X through ZX aren't subbed, nor is Black RX, nor J, so maybe you're just better off starting with Kuuga
Honestly, start with whatever one appeals to you more. I do suggest watching 555, Hibiki, Kabuto, and Kiva before watching Decade at the very least.

Start with Kuuga, and work yourself up until Kiva, through the very best of tokus , and THEN you will be ready to fully experience the wildest dreams of a true fanboy called: Decade ~

Re: Is Kamen Rider Decade a good Rider series to start with?
I say watch ryuki, kabuto, and Den-o first because they are the closest to sentai and then decade should be far enough along that you can watch it and another less sentai-esque series such as agito, blade, faiz, kiva. I don't recommend hibiki right away because it starts a little slow and had a troubled run so its more of something to watch after your already into kamen rider. I don't recommend kuuga because even though it rocks only the 4 eps are properly tv nihon subbed and the rest are subbed rather poorly.Ifritthewolf wrote:I have been into Super Sentai for years now but I have never had any interest in Kamen Rider. I'm looking to change that so I'm wondering if Decade is a good series to start with or should I go for an earlier series. If an earlier series can anyone recommend a good Kamen Rider series to start with.

I've only finished Kiva, and I'm only up to episode 25 in Den-O. I'm doing the exact opposite of what everyone else is saying: Starting with Kiva, and working my way back. I did get some Kiva fanservice in Decade, so I'm not completely at loss.

i agree with you since i watched all the heisei series...Ichida wrote:The best idea is to just read up on the Heisei series and watch whichever ones look appealing. I don't think you'll be able to enjoy Decade nearly as much without knowing who most of these Riders are.

Re: Is Kamen Rider Decade a good Rider series to start with?
Well, i watched Den-O and Kiva... and I've seen some episodes of Ryuki.
It's kinda confusing at times but I'm not that lost. It makes me see new riders and new threats and when i see one of the few riders i know (i.e: IXA, Kiva, Den-O, Ryuki) It makes me smile and when I see one that I never saw it impresses me and makes me wanna know more about them.
I don't think you have to have seen them all. I've seen only two and I am having the time of my life watching Decade ep.1 over and over again XD.

Re: Is Kamen Rider Decade a good Rider series to start with?
Decade seems to be designed with KR fanboys in mind.
I recommend watching another series first, maybe two. I started with Kabuto (In summer of 07, right in the middle of Den-O), finished Den-O, started watching some of Faiz, watched Kiva, went back and saw some of Ryuki and now here I am. I might not have a lot of finished series under my belt (haha) but I can appreciate the rider appearances in these series.
If anything though, watching Decade has made me interested in some of the series I missed..namely Hibiki.

I also started with kabuto and have been hooked ever since. It had a more serious feel to it. Den-O Is more comedic But still great.
It's a tokusatsu. Of course it's not going to consistantly show a power level.
In before somebody says over 9000.
Thank you my good sir.

True but still I must admit that KR Kiva and Den-O brought tears to my eyes.... many times. Even if it's more comical at times it's still full of emotions.summnor1201 wrote:I also started with kabuto and have been hooked ever since. It had a more serious feel to it. Re: Is Kamen Rider Decade a good Rider series to start with?
To be honest, while I agree with alot of what everyone is saying and what my friends have said about it, I would say watch what you like then watch Decade. However I started with Kabuto and then worked my way back throughout the Showa Series and some Kuuga and Agito, and a bit of Blade. I watched the Faiz movie and some of the others as well as the Hyper Battles. But if you can watch enough so you can recognize the Riders for who they are and get a kick out of seeing them you should be cool.
Random shiny thing made by me, for me.

You can start with decade, but as has been said before, you wont enjoy the first couple of minutes. xP
