18th anniversary and social media countdown UPDATE: New Garo Series

This Saturday, October 7, will be the 18th anniversary of the premiere of Garo.

The official Instagram and Twitter accounts have started posting an image of the 99.9 second armor countdown, counting down 1 tick every hour. As of ~12:00 AM GMT, it is at 97.9, so it'll take just over 4 days to complete.

I'm trying not to get my hopes for a new series/movie, I just hope whatever they're counting down to is somewhat interesting.

I tried twice to watch GARO and I just couldn't get into it. Maybe I should give it a 3rd go at some point.

I think if you can get past the first season that'll open the doors for you. The cgi of the first season probably looks antiquated now, but it's pretty fun and well worth watching once you do it

I'll agree with takenoko. The first season is a bit of a slow burn, with a lot of time spent establishing the world and its rules, and things happen that you don't understand the significance of immediately, but it definitely pays off if you're willing to stick with it. And from there, later installments (mostly) go full steam ahead, knowing that you're familiar with everything.

It is kinda unfortunate that, unlike Sentai/Rider or Doctor Who, there's not really a great alternate jumping-on point for the franchise, but I hope you'll find it worth giving another try. I really find the lore, the action, and the design of the shows to be amazing.

Oh trust me, bad effects don't bother me. My favourite era of Doctor Who is the 60s.

I honestly don't know why I didn't enjoy it. But my last attempt was 2015, so maybe it's time to try again.

Rejoice our fellow Garo fans, as we finally have news.
Garo will have a new series, titled: Garo - The Inheritor of Steel (temporary translation). The title visual and a new Garo armor has been released.
The series is anticipated to be aired on January 2024, starring Wataru Kuriyama.
