Selective websites banned in Malaysia (tpb, megaupload...)

Today I just read an article from an alternative news portal in Malaysia, mentioning that Malaysian Communication & Multimedia Commission (MCMC - SKMM in Malay language) will start blocking website like thepriratebay, MegaUpload and many more (might not limited to):
* FileServe.com
* DepositFiles.com
* FilesTube.com
* Warez-BB.org
* Movie2k.to
* MegaVideo.com
* PutLocker.com
* DuckLoad.com

MCMC is government linked regulator. They will do the ban in stages, ISPs by ISPs... But this afternoon I checked TPB is still accessible.

What a sad day of internet freedom in Malaysia...

Any alternatives to DDL your release?

All the ddl links on the forum are generously provided by members, and the staff really has no input as to what sites they use. If you have any suggestions of sites to use, we can ask that someone upload to that particular site, but otherwise, torrenting is probably your best bet.

now i really wish malaysia's current government are going down, a new government arise, and this s****d restriction is gone for good...

the bad thing is about this blocking issues, they did not block ANY porn sites!! how cruel is that!?

It seems that they did block the listed P2P & file hosting sites when I wrote this post. I'm surfing using Celcom Broadband. Anybody from Malaysia with different ISPs having the same problem?

To Lunagel, yes, now the only option available for me is torrenting the releases...

you can overcome this problem by using google DNS or openDNS. change your DNS via control panel.

GOOGLE DNS
preferred DNS : 8.8.8.8
alternate DNS : 8.8.4.4

OPEN DNS
preferred DNS : 208.67.222.222
alternate DNS : 208.67.220.220

Hi, from Malaysia too. Yup, it s**** a lot when the Malaysia government banned all those DDL sites (all done in the name of 'war against piracy, my *ss!!). Luckily, my internet is using a WiFi-type called UniFi, which is good with torrents.

BTW, my suggestion is the mediafire.com , which is quite well-known.

Well, this is my first post on Tv-Nihon. About the current topic, I see that MCMC trying their best to stop piracy but this wont solve anything. Those who have issues with downloading, there are a few ways to overcome the issues. So, before I share anything with you guys, I want the admins to take notice that they can remove my post if they feel they should.

1) The easiest way, change your DNS address.
2) Or just do the "LEECHING".
3) Always use Google whenever you stuck

What I just share is what you can do to bypass the blocks. I'm not gonna teach you how to do it step by step. Just go Google it and everything will come to you, eventually. Yeah, Mediafire is the best solution for us, Malaysians. But until when? It will going to be block sooner or later too.

we dont allow mediafire for main releases as our releases are generally always over the size limit of mediafire and we dont allow spliting and folder links of regular eps, only HD movies are an exception to this, but with has to be within reason
