Dairanger 22 released

Post by Phoenix512 »

The new Kiden beast is born but Akomaru has a final plan for Kou.

Spoiler
So all this time, Akomaru had Kou's mother as a trump card to turn Kou to the Gouma. In the end though, Akomaru never got what he wanted truly but he really made Kou suffer as he flew his mother to who knows where.

As for WongTiger, I like how that it needs KibaRanger to control it properly or it wouldn't act properly. Also RyuuSeiOu riding it was pretty awesome.

KibaDaiOu and WongTiger are actually backwards readings of their kanji

牙大王 Kiba Dai Ou

But if you reverse it:

王 King, which is pronounced Wong in Chinese
大 Big, which is tai/dai
牙 Fang, Kiba/ga

Wong tai ga = WongTiger

Wow and to think they couldn't put Kou through wringer once more they go and dangle his mother infront of him just to have her taken away again, at this rate I wouldn't be surprised to see Kou in a psychiatrists office when he's grown up.

Once again the mech designers on Dai really did some excellent work on Wong Tiger & KibaDaiOu, & props to the sfx department for the amazing work of RyuuSeiOu riding Wong Tiger, also pretty interesting to know that both their names are read backwards.

Actually, in Chinese, it'd be wang da ya. It sounds more similar in Cantonese; wong dai nga.

I think it sounds more like Wong to me

And the tai-ga part are the Japanese pronunciations. Only the king part is in Chinese

What? Darn Kou, he could've had the decency of lifting the rock off Akomaru, like a one in a hero/enemy relationship.

Anyway WongTiger is awesome, I now really want the toy, but they don't make it anymore...

I've seen that fatguy somewhere... Scratching head.
And at that Albie cried a single tear which turned into a jelly bean all the colors of the rainbow! And
suddenly...Albie wasn't racist anymore!!!

Honestly, i've been losting interest in Sentai and started watching Kamen Rider lately; however, Dairanger has actually got me into back into watching Sentai again. :D I guess i kinda miss the drama and fight sequences the the older stories used to bring. :p So far thou, it's turning out to be an awesome series, can't wait for the rest !! :D

P.S. Is Kameo, Tomihisa Naruse (Yellow Owl) from Jetman ? :O

I'm glad this stretch of Kou/Kibaranger episodes is over. Kou's not a bad character but not terribly interesting either. Would like to see some attention on the other rangers again.

I'm kinda surprised what they did with Akomaru though. His behavior in this episode and his rather miserable death seemed kinda sudden. And was anyone else expecting for them to say that Akomaru and Kou were actually half-brothers? Seemed like the direction they were going when Akomaru suddenly pulled out Kou's mother.

And on another note, was fun to watch this episode and recognize all the bits from when the White Ranger first appeared in Power Rangers.

I'm assuming that one scene of the orb in Won-Tiger is the one that is constantly reused in PR?

Used (missing an orb and the tail) for $109.99 including shipping
MIB for $200
Expensive as hell, but they're old and rare. Probably a better bet to buy the Tigerzord, the differences are small, but the price tag is way less.

I lol'd at Kameo. Symbolic name, eh? Kame=turtle. I suspect we'll be seeing more of him.

I was impressed at the scene of RyuuSeiOu riding WongTiger. When I look at it closely I can finally see that it's a miniature riding the WongTiger puppet, not a guy in a suit riding a larger puppet as I used to suspect, but it's well integrated into the shot so it looks full-sized. I have to lol at KibaDaiOu being the same height as RyuuSeiOu's Bujin Henge. Ah well, the suit actors are only so big.

All in all, an enjoyable episode, and a nice conclusion to the Kibaranger arc. And pretty much the only episode of the arc that Power Rangers took any footage from at all. XP

EDIT: Oh, one thing I forgot to mention: When the hell are they going to give Kou a spot in the credits? 0_o
