Alt Title: Toraiger? No, Try harder!
Just kidding, I enjoyed this episode. It's a bit repetitive with Charahiko being the continued origin of conflict for situations, but I still like the mostly grounded nature of the drama.
Dealing with parents is pretty universal.
So Yoshida was the big thing in this episode. From the preview, I got the impression that Yoshida was the over-the-top otaku. That'd she'd be shameless in her fandom and just be making Nakamura uncomfortable with her butt stuff.
But Yoshida's pretty well rounded. I wasn't expecting her and Nakamura to mirror each other in their concerns and approaches to fandom.
What I didn't expect was Yoshida to be 10 years older than Nakamura. When she was talking about it being her last hero show, I for sure thought that her backstory was that she was dying or something dire. I didn't expect her to just be feeling like society has pressured her to outgrow toku. (By the way, I'd like to start a spinoff thread asking if people's experiences mirror Tokusatsu GAGAGA). And when she realizes that she's from a different generation from Nakamura, that shock was pretty good too. (Yoshida's actress looks great for 31 btw).
Speaking of which, Yoshida thinks Sentai fans are only 3-6? That seems kind of young? That's barely even into elementary school.
