I wonder if this actress is a trained ballerina in real life? It's quite good, but it lasts way too long. Also, back in the parking garage?
The monster looks like an evil ninja turtle. Was he suposed to have dubbed lines that they forgot to put in?
This lady has some big eyes.
Really like those costumes
Oh! It looks like they fixed the names for the show. I was worried they'd be using DinnoRex and stuff with the extra n. But ooh, so the name is from Dino and Innovator
Ha, love that she just rushes in
Yay, we get some of that witch lady in this episode
What? There's a dark Dinnovator?
Overall, this feels like a big improvement compared to Wakusaver already. My only real problem being some of the scenes drag on a bit too long. Something I hope to see in the future is Pteras incorporating some ballet moves into her fight scenes. And give us more of that witch!
Edit:

Huh, I think I read that this was going to be a 4 episode series. But there's a 5th episode, but it's for download and streaming, and episode 6 is a DVD release? What's that mean?
Wow, that's a fantastic MagiBlue costume

Nah dude, she's maybe seen a couple youtube videos on ballet. She's not even close to being en pointe and those are not standard positions.
Evil mutant mutant ninja turtle MOTW
I'm honestly most impressed with the fact that she was apparently running around for like 10 minutes and scraping her butt on the floor crawling away and there are no runs in those tights. Like damn, what brand are those?
Transformation scene is defffffinitely gonna have a naked version in the porn episode.

Re: Jyukou Tokusou Dinnovator 01 released
I'm actually a bit more iffy on the costumes for this one, but mainly because they look more like some robo anime than metal hero. Also, the MOTW bugged me for some reason. Oh yeah, It was him standing there for half an hour watching the enemy's exposition and allowing the person he was sent to kill transform before finally understanding that she was a Dinnovator. I feel like either he didn't finish reading the memo before chasing down his target or he's been in one too many boxing matches. I'm also less impressed with the mooks for this show, even if they're much harder to beat.
She definitely wasn't doing ballet. It looked more like contemporary dance with the outfit making it feel more like ballet without any actual positions. It also makes more sense for someone who does contemporary to duck and weave than a ballet danger.
The one thing that makes this series really stand out though is that DinoPtera doesn't just know everything. She has to watch the others and have the transformation explained before she does it and doesn't even know what she's called. I love that she pulls a Red and just rushes headfirst into the battle, but doesn't know how to summon her weapons.
"It shows she's full of spunk" No, that's not until episode 5.
Is it just me or is the strongest creature in this show going to be that witch's outfit? Talk about holding back the flood waters...
All in all, this episode addressed a LOT of common flaws in tokusatsu. I don't hate the armour, but don't love it either. We're also back to the usual dumb mooks after Wakusaver gave us some mooks with personality. And we really know nothing of the baddies beyond a faction name and "we have to stop them", while we know a novel's worth about the Dinnovators already. Hopefully that'll change.
On a side note, they're working on more Wakusaver. Hopefully that means they'll pick up on the good stuff and not just do another frotting fest like episode 6. I've been too spoiled on gravure sentai and their use of groping/torture scenes mixed into actual story to bother spending money on all grope and no plot (or even sex) casted by actual porn actors. Maybe the new "season" will even give us some full episodes (one can hope).

If I had to bet money, the pr0n episode would have the girl hero tortured and raped in the most boring way possible for 60 minutes with no involvement of the male heroes. It seems that most of Giga's titles are like that.Dellorandsupersentaj wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 8:19 am In the porn episodes later on, are they gonna be fucking each other?
Not too bad. The girl is 50% less emo than the Wakusaver girl and might actually make one look forward to seeing her act in episodes 2-4.
Re: Jyukou Tokusou Dinnovator 01 released
I have to admit that this was better than I was expecting. Even graded on a curve, Wakusaver's first episode was just okay. Dinnovator's first episode, by contrast, is stronger. It seems to have a better idea of what it wants to do, and I feel benefits from using a straightforward plot instead of doing things in medias res.
Two series and 6 episodes in, GIGA's strengths and weaknesses are becoming clearer. The short episodes are a major bummer, and it's particularly problematic for the first episode, which ends up being an exposition dump. They're also clearly hard-up for good filming sites (so many garages), so I was a bit surprised by how much was shot outside here.
Compared to the first episode of Wakusaver, it's easy to see right off the bat that both the fight choreography and the cinematography have improved. This is probably due to the fact that there are only 3 characters to keep tabs on instead of 5, but either way, the action is a bit more impressive, and we don't have any weird camera shots to hide a lack of action.
The introduction is practically seizure-inducing, however. Seriously, the amount of flashing (the bad kind) is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not sure how someone at GIGA didn't pick up on that in production. On the plus side? The OP is better. Checking the wiki, it's the same artists, but far fewer verses are sung in harmony, which wasn't all that harmonious in the Wakusaver OP.
As for our star/heroine/victim-to-be, while this is a bit of a hot take since it's only the first episode, I think I like her more than Waku Pink. Her voice isn't nasally - though she's still a bit soft-spoken for a hero - and she doesn't have that unfortunate lizard eye thing going on with her makeup. And though I can't put my finger on it as to why, the giant red bow in her hair is oddly amusing. You just don't see that kind of thing these days. Bonus points are also due to the actress for running around in ballet slippers, which I understand to be quite painful due to the lack of support.
Finally, the MOTW was great proof that there's a very fine line between "horrifying" and "horrible". It's ever so slightly asymmetrical, which makes it off-putting. And I can't tell if that's intentional to freak out the audience, or just careless craftsmanship. Past that, I think someone nailed it by calling it a TMNT reject.

I didn't notice it the first time around, but now that you mention it, you're right. Those are some big peepers.
Well if they're doing a B-Fighter homage, then they have to do Black Beet/Shadowborg. It's pretty much mandatory. What? There's a dark Dinnovator?
There's a certain irony in designing such detailed costumes when the entire point of their productions is to get the actress out of the suit.
Agreed. They're relatively well-designed suits, but they're missing that extra layer of polish to give them a metallic look. So they end up looking closer to colored plastic (which is what they're made out of) than they do faux metal.
Okay, that was well played."It shows she's full of spunk" No, that's not until episode 5.

Re: Jyukou Tokusou Dinnovator 01 released
On the one hand, it's nice to see other companies throwing their hats into the Super Sentai arena and related things, but on the other? The exposition dump in this episode pushed the credibility just a bit much for me. DinoPteras' actress is incredibly cute and the character has potential, and the guys are actually pretty likable as well, expo dump aside. But Devil Girl...oh, man. Talk about a classic combi of Hot + Can't Act Worth a Dang. She was trying so hard to look angry and evil, but ended up looking goofy (yes, I know, AV actress, what more do I want, right?). There were moments I liked a lot, of course, like when Pink just charged headlong into battle like "I'LL SHOW YOU GUYS!!!!!" That was amusing! I couldn't care less about the sexy time aspect of these series, myself, so going on what I've seen of Giga's productions? I'll give 'em credit for trying, if nothing else. A for effort, maybe?

Re: Jyukou Tokusou Dinnovator 01 released
I just misread. I assumed the last date was for episode 6 but it's just the DVD release date for episode 5
