Is Hibiki worth watching?

Post by Liner_Form »

I just watched the first episode on Veoh. I'm very confused about the slow beginning and the musical. But does the series get faster later? Because I can't take that many slow episodes, no offense.

If you didn't think it was slow, plz don't kill me >_<

While I can't promise i will get faster I can give a bit of advice... Give it at least up to the 5th episode... But then again that's what I do with most everything I watch ^^;

I couldnt get into it...
I guess 'cause I kept looking at it as a Kamen Rider series and couldnt enjoy it. I might give it a second thought and just think of it as a stand alone toku series...
NOTE: I only watched 2 episodes and they were mid-series.

I like to say it's worth a watch. All the characters are likable to a certain extent. Except for Kiriya, he's an ass. And not to mention that the designs for the Riders(Oni) are very nice and unique. And watching it to the end will leave you in a very nice mood, or at least it did me.

You shouldn't turn your back on it just because the costumes don't have big eyes and that their power doesn't come form their belts. Or that the only way to kill their monster foes is through the use of sound through musical instruments (I don't understand why that bothers people. I think it's cool).

Hibiki is downright my favorite of the Kamen Riders. If there is a top 3 of the modern Riders that should be seen, Hibiki is one of them.

Hibiki is a weird series when it starts, there's no denying it, but you get used to it after a while. I love it, and I think everybody should give it a shot. I know it's slow at the beginning, but if you hold on until about episode 14, it starts picking up and getting really good.

Once I got past the first few episodes, the rest came along pretty easy. A pretty good series, from what I've watched.

Personally I like the fact that it completely ignores the 'conventions' of the Kamen Rider franchise. A much needed breath of fresh air, I do think.

i bought the dvd for hibiki.. 49 $ for whole eps.
but i'm disappointed. the subtitle came out 3-4 seconds earlier than it should, the story was slow..

i watched up to eps 4 and i quit, burn the dvd. god the smokes stinks.

for some reason, i kept falling asleep while watching hibiki. getting through to eps 4 is a torture.
i'm gonna try fansub to see if it's much better.

I don't really find this show slow at all. Hibiki was the first series of Kamen Rider I finished, its really worth a watch. The characters are likable and the storyline has a lot of good moments. Sure it is a different take from a traditional Kamen Rider but it stands on its own quite nicely. I never had a problem with getting though the episodes as I thought they were really creative and fresh.

I loved Hibiki not only for the awesome music, but also for the feeling of accessibility. It felt less obviously a fantasy to me.

I haven't seen this series yet, I do intend to at least give it a try though. I generally enjoy a little change of pace in a series. :D

Hibiki was the only rider show that seemed real to me. Yes I know that is a bogus claim, but it really got to me because, so far it is the only show I've seen with riders, who were not given powers but who had to train from the get go! Another thing that is cool, is when you see the actors, without helmets, in the costumes! I mean it had that realism, and that did it for me.
