Right? That means someone is actually bothering to dig out the original masters and properly format them for Blu-Ray. Even if it ends up being a quick & dirty transfer, that's a lot more work than English releases normally get.

I'm curious what frame rate they'll supply it at. IIRC, Cutie Honey was filmed at 60i.

The broadcast would have been at 60i - specifically 1080i60 - since that's the standard for over-the-air 1080. I would assume the DVDs were at 60i as well, since that is super common for DVDs.

Edit: And I just answered my own question. 1080p30 isn't a valid format for Blu-ray. So the US release will have to be 1080i60

I wonder how much of the bonus footage will be included on the Blu-ray. If there's any they don't do, I guess we can split that off and release it as its own separate thing? We ended up doing a lot of the specials for that series. Too bad we haven't had time to consistently work on stuff like that

I love this series! Every once in a while I’ll wish for a new episode. One time that wish came true, and we had the episode where Dr Kisaragi explains himself.

I thoroughly enjoyed the series when y'all first had it on here, and I'd very much buy this since Discotek has a good reputation for quality releases, as I recall. I concur with others on here, it had a good story arc and likable characters who had good arcs, and Yamamoto Daisuke as Hayami was funny as heck! Considering he also played a villain, a very serious role, in "Kamen Rider Kiva", I'd say the man's got talent and versatility. Hara Mikie was a perfect choice for Honey (ever seen any interviews with her? She's really that bouncy and happy!) and the other girls were excellent as well. It was appropriately dark and edgy enough as befits a Nagai Go effort. and man...that ending episode that tied it all up was just tragic. I do, however, like the movie; I own it and enjoy it rather a lot as the over the top comedic spectacle that it is. Anno-san was well aware of what he had on his hands, I think, and he handled it accordingly. IMO, Sato Eriko was just as good as Hara-san was, in a different manner (not nearly as child like and silly as Hara-san's Honey was). So yes, I'd buy this set, for sure.

Man, nothing really amazing lately. Although Tokusatsu GAGAGA from a few years ago was pretty fun. A nice wink at fans of tokusatsu

Kiramager was pretty hot. Enjoyed that series
