How can this even be the best ending? I think it is a tragedy
best tragic ending i supposed? tragic or not its a great ending...

Thus the term collateral damage, happens in every series no matter the series, just some series *cough-sentai-cough* are better at hiding the bodies then other series. That is what I like about KR, there is actually a body count and it does not leave you (should you ever wonder) why no one has ever died. Sad to say, but the body count is one reason why I do like KR most of all.

Besides, not every story has to be a happy ending.

If they just sealed Jocker right away or released the human undead like planed the casualties would be sooo much lower

I don't think Blade's finale was so much a sad ending. I'd rather think it was a good ending in disguise. If Kenzaki were to choose sealing Hajime (like in the movie ver.) it would still leave Hajime became the one who must leave this world in the end (via his self-sacrifice against Jashin 14).
On the other hand, Kenzaki's decision, in my personal opinion, was a win-win solution. Hajime (Joker) can live peacefully as a human with Amane and Mom and Kenzaki (Joker) can also live peacefully as a human in his new environment.

Kenzaki and Hajime just need to stay away from each other and all is set. I think Kenzaki won't have that great a difficulty living normally even though he has lost his humanity. Well, he just needs to be extra careful not letting any one else sees his green blood and may not have marriage with a normal woman in the worst case scenario. He can still retain his human form and emotion for God sake. Both of them are able to suppress their instincts to get into a fight with each other, as a matter of fact. I believe right now, Kenzaki has found his happiness with his new family in other town or country.
So, to put it simply, Kenzaki losing his own humanity in Blade's finale doesn't make this a sad ending but a great one, I must say.

if kenzaki didn't do that then he would probably not have the power to travel to different worlds... an decade wouldn't recieve such beating...
