Sailor Moon Crystal Ep 2
Well, just saw the second episode, and it was just as lovely as the first. Cel-shaded CGI not-withstanding, for those that hate it. I don't mind it, seeing as it's not just Usagi moving during the transformations, and that is a lot of lighting angles to calculate. The one thing I forgot about is Mercury's uniform. I forgot that hers doesn't have the ribbed shoulders that most of the others have. Speaking of the uniform, the transformation was jaw-dropping, even with CGI use.

I'm still not used to the CGI and art style, but I've seen worse. Is it just me or did Mercury's transformation sequence seem a bit less detailed (i.e. glossed over) than Moon's?
Story-wise, seems like they're sticking to the plot in the general sense, but with a very odd schedule and at only 26 eps, I'm curious how much are they gonna cover in this series.
I've also started to rewatch the live action series again, ep 1 and ep 2 seems to match up in the overall story sense. I think I like this version of Ami Mizuno better, she seems more confident in herself and is already a badass right from her first transformation.

Apparently all of it, though we're most likely gonna have filler, as I just checked the Sailor Moon wiki, and there was only 13 acts (or 14 if you have the re-release instead) before facing Metallia, and if each act is used as an episode, well...
Transformation-wise, Mercury's was a bit short, but at least she has one. Saturn never even got one in the original anime series, just one in a side-story game.

Some of the acts you could definitely stretch out into two-parters though.

Sailor Mercury, with her 'Useless Attack Blast!'
This episode felt more like a motion comic than an anime to me. However I do enjoy the Sailor V game snippets.
