Okay, that was probably the best Ex-Aid yet. Probably the least annoying episode yet. Emu still trips once or twice though.

Hiiro finally feels like he's becoming a character. And we learn a bit about Snipe's backstory. Speaking of which, it's interesting that we learn that Hiiro doesn't like sweets. He only eats them because he needs the sugar and because his dead girlfriend told him to do that. It's a very minor twist, but at least it's something. What's that phrase? In the land of the blind, the man with one eye is king?

Whoa, Poppy's Room was actually kind of informative this week. I didn't notice that Snipe was grey until they pointed it out. And of course Poppy's a character from the rhythm game. I should have guessed it based on her design.

Poppy's cute enough, but I think it'd be hard to justify getting her Gashat XD So if Poppy is a character from the game, why don't we see her sprite version?

Hiiro, the only actual doctor, beats a rhythm game thanks to being a doctor.
I really enjoyed the use of the theme and the first fight against the Bugster was fun.

"I finally got a humanoid form", I know, right? Finally gets to use his own weapon, as well.
So Snipe is the only one left, then. Wonder what episode 9 will bring us.

Good episode. At first I thought "Hiiro is a cool character, why let him use the music game, it does not suit him". But then after they explained the "beating" is like CPR, I love it. And so far, Hiiro is my favorite character in Ex-Aid. Why? Because he is the only doctor in this game-doctor theme series.
And Taiga. Huhm... I wonder why he is so angry everytime he saw Graphite. Because Graphite killed Hiiro's girlfriend? He is such an asshole, so I thought he would never care about patients. Maybe Taiga is in love with Hiiro girl too?

I'm still curious to why Taiga is more pissed off at Graphite than Hiiro is? I'm surprised how calm Hiiro was, and did not get upset after Graphite escapes. Despite getting annoyed at times by Hiiro, he has been surprisingly generous to Hiiro, and not once I have heard him said he will take Hiiro's Gashat during the times Hiiro threatens him. I can imagine in the future Taiga might even take bullet for Hiiro.

I think the reason is because he's his first failure as a Doctor.

What a great episode. I think Emu hitting all of the notes while Hiiro just stands there confused will be a highlight for a long time. Honestly, it's that same scene that makes me feel like Emu would've been a better choice for DoReMiFa Beat as his Level 3, but I guess CPR works. In the end, I don't really care for Brave using it. The way he finished off the DoReMiFa Bugster using Taddle Critical Finish was way better than watching him punch Graphite to the show's intro theme.

On another note, Hiiro's actor doesn't like sweets; I wonder if this is them using that for the character. I'm getting some Ren vibes from him now, too, which I like.

I didn't like Brave. I honestly didn't when he first appeared, and in subsequent appearances he readily abandoned the fight without hesitation when threatened with failure. I can understand fear of death, though not sure how Poppy quite meant 'lose a life' honestly. I had LOVED Baron from the start and expected I'd like HIiro/Brave too, but felt dissappointed when he just felt like an elite jerk. Finally getting SOME backstory on him and character-defining moment finally has me starting to like him. I realized it was cpr soon as I saw his hands, but still enjoyed when he actually said it. I hope we get some more real character development for him and Kiriya going forward, which we should considering it's not even 10 episodes in yet.

I honestly realized Poppy was from Doremifa Beat from episode one. Beyond her design...the game cabinet she leapt into on episode one was Doremifa beat, and you can see little mini-poppy on it. Plus the little note icons scrolling down it. I did however, like most, miss Grey Snipe.

I loved watching Level 1 Ex-Aid dance while Level 1 Brave just looked at him like 'what's he doing?' Didn't even try to copy (and fail) but just stood there like a deer in the headlights. I wanna see that as a meme so bad! Or at least as a cute gif!

5/5 for FINALLY giving us some real development with what is supposed to be our secondary rider!...and for using Ice Taddle Critical Finish!

ok i agree, this might be THE BEST EP so far of Ex-Aid.
Emu trip somehow feel logical since asuna hold him, I LOVE chara development. drama, yes we get some drama although it happends too fast paced. but the drama is enough & done properly for a toku show. the heart "beat" is a SMART thing for giving it to Brave, and they give a good explanation in how a rider so fast can learn about his new skill.
which mostly didnt done in previous2 rider show.

and yes, its a very good finishing move. the CGI are used in a very good way for it.

Asuna aka Poppi is useless character until ep 6.
She reminds me about useless-Mai from Kamen Rider Gaim. I wish in this series will have the useful female char look like Akari from Ghost last year, but I believe Asuna will not have great role in this series. Her role as present is guide Emu with little information, henshin to Poppi with terrible voice and nothing. Boring character.

I don't think she's useless. She definitely fills in the role as exposition and support. But she is pretty flat at this point, seeing as how she doesn't have any wants or desires of her own outside of her role as Rider supporter.

Like everyone else said, this is the best episode so far...but it's still not great. All this episode truly makes me do is wonder why Hiiro isn't the main character. His backstory is better than anyone else in the show, and he has a legit motivation for fighting instead of Emu's "I NEED TO HELP PEOPLE CAUSE I'M MAIN CHARACTER". Hell, his name is HIIRO. I mean, come on.

Other than that, the usual issues apply. Emu is obnoxious. Characters hate each other too much. Annoying and obnoxious comedy. Boring villains. Boring fights (the bit where they refused to level up after separating the Bugster and level 1 Emu dancing was especially painful), yadda yadda yadda. Although I will say the pacing was significantly better this episode, even if it's not perfect. Also, that stupid and goofy upgrade was just...so...ridiculous. Not sure if I like it yet, but I definitely face-palmed at the turn-table gauntlet.

Ex-Aid has had his level 3 for one episode and is already using it at every opportunity. Coupled with the fact they blew through the giant Bugster form quickly means they are rushing the level 1 as well.

Right? Like why do they bother even including this shit at all if it's not gonna matter in the slightest?
