ZI-O Translation Team Appreciation Thread

Post by TorchWood »

Another series concluded.... and no matter what you think about the series Zi-O, lets take a moment to express our appreciation to all of the TV-Nihon members who worked on translating, timing, and typesetting this series every week.

Thanks!

Also I started watching Dr Who, so I sorta get that reference.

I don't know what prompted this thanks here and in the other thread, but it's rad. Thanks guys! Also thanks for being such a great fandom. I'm glad we don't have to deal with like asshats and that we're able to have civilized conversations

I can't speak for anyone else, but I try to thank you guys at the end of each season. It's a lot of work to do this week in and week out, all for free. So you guys deserve a lot of respect for that.:)

As the OP, I'll answer this...

This is a volunteer effort to provide these efforts. Since you are translating from Japanese to English, there is a ton of effort to capture the episode, translate, typeset, time, and encode the episodes each week, and it's a weekly series that rarely gives you a week off. There have been several occasions where an error was spotted after the release, and you have to go through, fix the episode, then re-encode for a v2. The encoding is in 1080 and SD, then a 720 shortly thereafter. Some folks sometimes forget that. I want to emphasize the positive.

I'd also like to thank the team for translating this, because although i enjoyed the series overall, i can tell it must have been pulling teeth to work on and translate.

Nah, it was fun to do the nostalgia. The worst I had to deal with was find old scripts to figure out how things were phrased in the past.

I'd like to give a big hand to Davinci for typesetting the monstrosity. Integrating old effects and styles and dealing with the monstrous Grand Zi-O henshin. Whew!

Thanks for translating this season and all the work that have been done over the years. 20 yrs of nostalgia and the phrasing from 20 yrs ago would be tough. Props and kudos to that.

That grand zi-o Henshin, you guys did great in the effects.
Will continue supporting ya.
