Really loved this episode. A good fight has to also be backed by some real meaning behind the people fighting and why they're fighting.

I think Mitsurugi is a really good villain/ally since sometimes she has goals that are in opposition to what the heroes want, and that's just how things are sometimes. And maybe she does have a point about stopping the giant kaiju monster cloud before it endangers the rest of the universe. If the danger is on that scale, maybe it does make sense to sacrifice Earth.

Gotta admit that Isami isn't really my favorite character on this series. But he's pretty darn funny in this episode. Especially when he thinks that Katsumi has a thing for Mitsurugi, but isn't sure if he's attracted to her oldness or youngness.

Mitsurugi had some depth added to her in this episode. It's becoming clearer that she's still very much grieving her brothers, and while some part of her may want to ask Katsumi and Isami for help, she simply can't bring herself to. So she tries to both egg them on and get rid of them, in turns.

Isami keeps playing the role I expect from the red-color-coded character, which is to say perpetually mistrustful and rarin' to fight. I can see how he'd be annoying, but I think it's important to have that ideological conflict present (and, metatextually, it helps move the story along).

Can't say I'm a huge fan of them sweeping Aizen under the rug still. "Oh no, he wasn't the mastermind or anything, it was definitely your mom and me the whole time." C'mon bruh, he was so cool. Was there some storyline adjustment made during production? It doesn't feel right.

BIG SPOILERS FOR SERIES DON'T LOOK HERE
Spoiler
When Mitsurugi is flashing back to Mio falling into the dimensional portal, and the candies fall to the floor... Mitsurugi comes back to present day looking at Asahi, knowing that she doesn't belong there, but making the connection between the candies anyway. So good!
