I like how the mom gives us three options for Asahi's origins without any definite answers being given. Kinda ballsy considering how close to the end of the story it is.

Also, it seems a bit tragic that they could have released their mom at any time just by going to that basement.

Hehee, some audio balancing issues in this episode for some of the transformation calls. I don't recall that error in the Blu-ray rips I watched, so I assume this was a TV episode production error.

I can explain away Mio's hyper behavior as either simply being her personality, or her being excited to finally be back, but it still kinda bothers me. Why is she not more emotional seeing her sons and husband after all these years? Her and Ushio don't really feel like husband and wife, besides the one hug they did.
And Katsumi and Isami are totally taking this in stride... they should also be super emotional. Last time they saw their mom, they were tiny kids!!

I did love the scene with Mio and Asahi, though. She has some theories, but they don't really matter, because she loves Asahi regardless of who she is, and she's welcome in the Minato family.
