Legit ways to watch Kamen Rider

Post by Comatose »

So a while back I had found Kuuga on that free streaming app Tubi.Tv and had started watching it. Took me a while because of other distractions but yesterday I finally finished it. I had decided way back when I found it that I wouldn't go on to Agito until I had finished it. Stupid me didn't save TVN's subs so I had nothing except trusty Google to help.

Google pointed me to Amazon and reminded me that it has a Toku channel that, since the last time I looked at it, has now added Agito and Faiz to its list of shows. Also a few Ultraman series. So if anyone is looking for a way to watch some of these shows, Amazon Prime Video has some that Tubi.TV doesn't. Tubi is free, Amazon of course costs money and the Toku channel has a 7 day free trial then it's $3.99 (U.S. Dollar) per month after. Not bad if you use it.

Figured I'd share. Might help someone who is trying to get their fix. haha. Although I might be late to the party and it's probably already common knowledge. :)

I remember when they e-mailed about getting our Agito scripts. The whole thing was super unprofessional. They didn't say who they were or how they were related to the license holders. I'm guessing they were a smaller company that was contracted for getting scripts

Anyway, when I asked for compensation for the scripts, they stopped responding to my e-mails XD

Haha wow. That explains a lot. The Kuuga subs from the version I watched on Tubi.TV were decent. I've watched 2 episodes of Agito so far and it's much lower quality. From years of watching subs here I've picked up a general idea of what certain words can mean in certain context and there are times where I'll see the sub on the screen and have a whole 'wtf' face going. They're better than the old HK subs at least. Haha.

curious question:

have you guys looked at any of the "official" stuff toei is putting out on YT, and comparing how their subtitle work compares to yours?

I've only ever really glanced at a few different videos so take this with a grain of salt. What I've seen/heard about ranges from decent to mediocre to downright "what the hell is wrong with you"? (looking at you Faiz)

It doesn't seem like Toei is really putting in the effort/money to make really good subs, so you get what you pay for.

thank you. I was debating either watching an ep from a series I've watched through you guys (most likely build, it crossed my YT feed recently), and possibly watching some of the older series I'd missed, but at least I have that caveat.

nice to know Toei is going the crunchyroll route. >.>
