Looks at the timer during the rock quarry scene
Are these the same monster of the weeks as from season 1?
LOL at green pushing up his glasses through his helmet
I think I like the bow work here.
What's pink's weapon? I don't think she used it in season 1?
Where were the lasers from the first rock quarry scene coming from? No space ship?
Huh, the motw are just lying on the ground in the background
Oh the commanders are still here. You sure yo udon't want to fight these guys, Wakusavers?
Feels like a strong start. Will it hold up?
A parody of popular female commanders is pretty smart. Kind of ironic since aren't most of the actresses for these originally AV actresses to begin with?

This has been bugging me all evening. Until now, I couldn't even figure out who 2 out of those 3 characters were meant to be. But I think I've finally got it?takenoko wrote: ↑Fri Oct 29, 2021 11:37 am

From L to R:
Denus (GoGoV)
Shiborena (Megaranger)
Wendinu (Hurricaneger)
As far as I know, only Shiborena's actress was also an AV actress. Cross-checking the PR wiki (which is not a flawless source), the actresses for the other two are not listed as having done AV work.
So as meta as it would be for all three AV actresses to be parodying characters played by AV actresses, that's not the case here. They'd have to switch it up to use, say, Kegareshia and Zonnette, to make that theme work.

Oh, I didn't recognize the girl on the left or right, so I just assumed. I think I just assumed a bunch of the villain commanders were former av actors when the reality is that it's fewer than I thought?
Re: Wakusaver Season 2 Ep 01 released
Zonnette, Shiborena, Kegareshia, Malshiina. I think that's it?
So yeah, not all that many given that we're at 45 seasons. And ignoring Akibaranger, none in the last decade.

Pink's weapon appeared in episode 6 (the porno one). I can't recall if it had a name, but her attack was "Radiance Hallution" which is some sailor moon bullshit there.
Enjoyed the banter at the end, explosions were pretty cool. Could've been a lot worse.

Not in porn but im the credits scene of ep 5. The porn episode is not canon for this since she saved Purapinu and guys were saved by her?

Re: Wakusaver Season 2 Ep 01 released
Really strong opening episode! I think they looked at the first season with a critical eye and figured out what it was missing.
One nitpick: The scene where the Generals retreat should have happened after the Wakusavers' intimidation scolding but before the Wakusavers walk away to get curry. As shown, the Generals had no reason to retreat and the Wakusavers had no reason to turn their backs, but switch the order of scenes then it would make sense.
A real pro move would be if the Wakusavers had beaten up the Generals without transforming and left them in a pile, then transformed with the Generals behind them so they would be destroyed by transformation pyro.
I suspect that the pyro isn't cheap so we probably won't see it again unless they have another "climatic" fight.
Looks like we will finally have some non-flashback character development next episode.
If Dinnovator gets a season 2 and gets as large a power up and the Wakusavers we'll be saying "Toei who?".

The pr0n thing is Alternate Universe.
Re: Wakusaver Season 2 Ep 01 released
Keeping in mind that we're still grading on a curve here, that was pretty good. It's admittedly still not to Dinnovator levels, but the first episode of Wakusaver season 2 is already a noticeable improvement over season 1. And comparing season intros to season intros in particular, it fixed basically all the choreography and cinematography episodes from the series' first fight. There's hope for you yet, GIGA!
Pink running through the quarry with explosions going off every which was way perhaps a bit too drawn out, but I do appreciate the action. That's a rough-looking quarry, though; there are a lot of jagged rocks and loose gravel.
The series' plot up to this point is pretty much a mess, and I don't think this episode does much to really fix that. But at least for this episode, the character banter was on point. That was a big problem in S01E05, since there was no one except Pink.
I believe that BGM track for when the Wakusaverers regrouped was new? It certainly had a good beat to it. Which is why I'm a bit disappointed that they used the series' theme song for the fight itself. On which note, I'm still of the opinion that GIGA needs to re-record it; the harmony between the two singers isn't very good, and since they do all of the other GIGA songs, we know they can do better.
Oh, and Pink no longer looks like a lizard person! She has naturally baggy eyes it would seem, and that's fine, but her season 1 make-up made it stick out in a bad sort of way. Meanwhile I'm still scratching my head a bit in trying to figure out just what they've done with Rajura's look; it's just slightly different enough to be noticeable, but as this is well outside my knowledge base, I don't know how break things down. Overall, I guess it's a harder look? Everything is darker, and there's more contrast.
Meanwhile, there's something curious going on with the number of episodes for this season. The website lists 4 episodes, as well as episode 3.5, which was advertised here as well. For all the previous GIGA series, the final episode has been the JAV. However the website only lists 3.5 as being for sale on DVD - with no mention of selling episode 4 - which implies that 3.5 is the JAV this time around. That could have some big implications, assuming that a season 3 is on the table; the season doesn't have to end with a JAV and can be wrapped up in a format accessible to everyone. Though 4 episodes is still short, especially given that this is a 5 man team.

Unfortunately, I don't realistically expect we'll see them fight the commanders. The girls' outfits look quite fragile. Really, they'd need some kind of transformed form, both to get the characters in more durable clothing and to swap out the actresses for stunties. Though Garufoza's outfit is basic enough that you may be able to pull off a fight with him, especially since half of his face is hidden by default.Oh the commanders are still here. You sure yo udon't want to fight these guys, Wakusavers?
Yeah, that's definitely a plot weakness for this episode. Not only does it not adhere to Sentai tropes, but having the heroes walk away from the villains is just kind of daffy.resop2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 11:55 am One nitpick: The scene where the Generals retreat should have happened after the Wakusavers' intimidation scolding but before the Wakusavers walk away to get curry. Is it? Going by Luna's review, it sounded like episode 6 was basically Pink fights the bad guys and loses -> un-sexy times -> Pink escapes, and somehow the rest break out with her. Which is consistent with what we saw in the montage at the end of episode 5. I don't think there's anything here in season 2 episode 1 that conflicts with that? The pr0n thing is Alternate Universe.

I mean, it's definitely not a fluid transition between s1e6 and s2e1, but it's also not negating anything that happened in ep6, so I'd be okay with saying that it's all canon.
I'm sure we're putting wayyyy more thought into it than the writers/producers though lol

Ah, so that's what it is

Yeah, I wonder what that means. It's interesting? Not that I care about the canonity of a porn episode
"Stop blasting Pink from space. Send in ground troops instead to finish her off. All five of the rangers managed to revive? Well, don't blast them from space! It might hit one of our guys"

Just going by the one clip I came across (honest!), when she summoned the weapon it sounded to me like she said "Dia Baton" or something like that, but I couldn't tell for sure.
