Why did Jermie have Duga instead of the other guy?
What's with these random scenery shots?
Wait what? How did we get to the point of the kings abdicating their thrones? We spend the first seven minutes without the kings and they come back and this is what they do?
They only bring back that dumbass in Shugoddom to be mad and have dumb opinions
Slow clap to a fast clap??
The story in this episode is subpar even for this series's standards, but at least this fight is kind of fun
Are they seriously just going to use their new bug limb abilities without explaining how they got them?
Man, that was probably the worst episode I've seen in a while. It was overserious, nonsensical, and wasn't fun at all. It was like they decided to answer war crimes with the level of seriousness of trying to juggle two dates in a TV sitcom. Like there was no reason any of that had to play out that way. No one tried to break the hypnotism, instead clearly the answer is to fool the masses. It undoes Jeremie's progress for what feels like a filler episode. I think this is the first time I'm giving a 1 star grade on an episode that wasn't just blatantly offense in some way. Just nothing worked!

As for that transformation scene my god it was really good. I wish all the episode of this show was like this. this show does irrate me though it seems to have a 1 REALLY good episode 2 medocore episode rinse repeat syndrome.
I fucking loved this episode.
I'm really surprised you didn't like this episode. I thought this episode was fucking amazing. Of course it felt like something out of Samurai Warriors plot or something but it was written very very well. You might wanna rewatch it like 2 or 3 more times cause it all connects REALLY well. What's with these random scenery shots?
| it's like funeral shots remember they were supposed be backstabbed and dead.
Wait what? How did we get to the point of the kings abdicating their thrones? We spend the first seven minutes without the kings and they come back and this is what they do?
| They were coming up with an excuse as to why they did that legitimately after they had been knocked out. i thought it was quite genius to be truthful. For a moment there i seriously thought they were going to follow up with it and we were going to have like some outlaw kings or something
They only bring back that dumbass in Shugoddom to be mad and have dumb opinions
| i think he's supposed be like the court jester or something.
Slow clap to a fast clap??
| Yeah cause jerimie didn't have to put on an act like. esp when he spent the first half series just trying to get equal rights. lmao could you imagine MLK being like eh fuck it what's 30 more years when we've waited 150 years?
Are they seriously just going to use their new bug limb abilities without explaining how they got them?
| I just thought it was evident that they were so angry Jerimie had to go so far that they focused that anger.

The writer mocking political stunts here. The things that happens in front and behind the camera, what the people in charge want their citizens to see. And people believing everything they see on TV.
By the time the kings woke up there was already a planet-wide riot happening. They don't know who was being brainwashed and during a riot it's an echo chamber, a lot of people will just follow suit, causing more chaos which leads to even more chaos. In the real world a big riot will usually end in disaster one way or the other. In this fantasy setting, I guess the only way to calm a riot this size without physically harming anyone was an incident so shockingly unbelievable that it will just shut everyone up. The kings chose a suicide stunt with a hard-to-believe script while at the same time answered the riot's catalyst - the aides attacking the kings were not an aggression towards the respective kingdoms. Jeremie took the other more logical choice, the enemy-turned-friends turned out to be a lie. Most people still had doubts about this thousands-years-enemy so it's easily believable. Jeremie absorbed all the hate and took the fall alone.
Gira's eyes flashed red, did that mean anything? Or was just to show they were fully in sync with their Shugods and could draw out their full power as indicated by their finishers? When talkative warriors fought in silence you know they were mad.
Sentai usually goes in limbo and dips in quality during the mid-20s, it's very much not the case here. It still manage to keep me at the edge of my seat every week. Arguably I'm enjoying it more now because they're working as a team and not constantly at each other's throat for no reason.

Re: King-Ohger 29 discussion post
I rather liked this episode. It was kind of ham-fisted in setting up the assassination scenario - and I still wish that it wasn't tacked on to the end of the previous episode - but it worked in the end.
"MOTW puts everyone under a spell" is about as tropey as Sentai tropes get. I don't have a problem with it, but it can get very stale when the answer is to beat said MOTW (which is essentially what last week was a variation on). So this was very refreshing, in a way. The Kings couldn't win just by defeating Hirubiru; the only (apparent) way to break her spell was to let it play out. Which forces a classic tragedy where someone has to take a fall for the sake of the rest of the team. Other than the messy setup, it was rather well handled, I feel.
I do agree with Takenoko that having Jeremie and the Bugs go back to Pubic Enemy #1 after just a few episodes is frustrating in a way. But I'm willing to roll with it for now to see where it goes - and I'll be happy so long as it goes somewhere good.
Also, for who the hell knows why, we got a panty shot of Hirubiru?!
Weeks without a mecha fight: 3.

Because they were all "defeating their enemies". Hirubiru's spell apparently wasn't straight mind control, but rather amplification of internal feelings. The aides would never attack their own kings, but they could be coerced into attacking a rival king.
Probably not. There was a 2 year time skip. I think we're just supposed to accept that they've been training, and then move on.Are they seriously just going to use their new bug limb abilities without explaining how they got them?
I think it was just meant to be dramatic. But we'll see. There's still some weird connection between Gira and his Shugod that remains unexplained.
Agreed. I am very happy to be past the infighting, backstabbing, and general distrust of the team.Arguably I'm enjoying it more now because they're working as a team and not constantly at each other's throat for no reason.

Maybe I was in a grumpy mood, but I'm glad to see this episode went over well with other people
>Also, for who the hell knows why, we got a panty shot of Hirubiru?!
I don't know if I even noticed that. Does Hirubiru even where a dress??

Ah, that makes sense

This is like Ahsoka just suddenly having two lightsabers. Give us the power up moment!

Technically, yes. Though it's kind of hard to tell where the bug ends and the "clothing" begins, since it's all the same material (shiny vinyl?) pained in the same colors.
It does lend itself to the otherworldly nature of the bugs, though. (At least, when they're not doing panty shots)
