Magnet links on Nyaa don't work?

Apparently when we post torrent links on Nyaa, the magnet links don't work. Anyone have any idea on why?

magnet link works fine for me. maybe it's a problem for a small number of people?

Someone told me they never work for our torrents, and when I tried earlier it never resolved

Only issue I have is file lists never show up but that's more likely an issue with Deluge. The links themselves work fine.

In my experience it happens a lot for the 720s, which (of course!) are the ones I'm trying to get. I've now taken to doing both the 720 and 1080 version together, as I know the 1080 will usually complete pretty quick and then I can watch it whilst waiting the few extra days for the 720 to finally kick in.

In fairness though, the newest eps that I've just downloaded now have all completed straight away without issue. Sometimes I wonder if it's just my old version of uTorrent that's not up to scratch, but I would've thought the experience would be pretty consistent regardless of what versions I was downloading.

As for nyaa magnet links - they work fine for me. Maybe whoever reported this have some funky security settings in browser/antivirus/etc. that prevents their browser from calling another program like that?

Shot in the dark: magnet links, just like torrents, need to be seeded. The underlying technology is a Distributed Hash Table (DHT), with an emphasis on distributed. So someone, somewhere, needs to have the full information for the torrent file on hand to push out through the rest of the system.

Notably, most seedboxes do not participate in DHT networks. So if files are primarily being served via those, as opposed to standard clients, that may explain the inability to resolve magnet links.

I had this problem with deluge. with qbittorrent I no longer have the issue!

They show file lists for me when downloading other things through magnet links. Just not on these particular magnets.
