Detective Hanto is finally on the case. He comes off as thick headed, but the guy's a reasonable sleuther when it comes down to things

/me slaps the donut out of Shouma's hand. We've already got a donut rider. Are Japanese donuts really that small?

Sachika looks a big different this week. is it just her hair? Shouma, don't you have a big toy box for your Gochizo to live in? Time for Shouma to gaslight a woman

Oh, I forgot Hanto offloaded half of his sleuthing to Sachika lol

Hanto, the scrapes on the ground detective. Why aren't these scrapes like everywhere, they should have existed from the first location

Is Gavv's shooting a Gochizo from his sword thing supposed to be lame on purpose?

I'd love to see what it looks like to operate that suit lol

Gotta say, Gavv getting shoulder cannons is a bit underwhelming when he already has the big fuck off gatling gun

Hanto, how do you know you have all the kids? I guess it's a kid's show. So is Valen just not able to use any Gochizo besides the white chocolate one?

Where'd these dumbasses dump the other kids? I knew these guys didn't double check the building

I love this weird relationship Gavv and Valen have. Valen is so dependent on Gavv

So will the white chocolate Gochizo listen to Hanto? Won't they be like "Hey Shouma, Karakida is Valen"

I wonder how long did it take these guys to rescue the kids. How's Hanto going to explain that she lost like half a day at least of time

Thought that was a pretty good episode. The highlights are Gavv and Valen's interesting team dynamic. And it's cool that Valen has such a vital part of the main story sometimes. In some ways, Karakida is a bit more of the protagonist since he's a bit more proactive with dealing with the Granuto. Whereas Shouma is a bit more reactive of a hero, hanging out and doing side jobs with Sachika until a monster has the misfortune of crossing his path. Looking forward to seeing how they deal with discovering each other's identities and when Sachika gets folded into the trio more. She had a good bit with dealing with the painter guy, but I'd like to see her as a more vital part of the story (Hopefully she doesn't also have a tragic backstory involving the Granuto)

Complete missed opportunity for a joke about how this Granuto only uses the "freshest" ingredients.

A couple recurring things in the show are starting to stale a little--they need to give Shouma more lines after eating candy than saying the same word in the same way, and the dual secret identity thing isn't as fun if it's just them thinking the same thoughts with swapped names. Still, outside that it was pretty fun; I'm glad Valen's started asking for Gavv's Gochizou instead of just taking them.

Curious about where Suga and the USB are heading. If he's working for Stomach, then making Valen makes for a house divided against itself; on the other hand, since I believe Nyelv straight-up said he's only interested in the experiments for their own sake this episode, so if he and Suga are in cahoots or alter-egos for each other, I can see them becoming a major third party in a later act.

I like Shouma and Hanto's dynamic, the worrying over each other is pretty funny.
Shoulder cannon's were cool plus he has the gatling to go with them, he's a walking tank.

I like the idea of Suga and Nyelv being in cahoots and giving us a 3rd party

Hey, the two of you were in a school in the middle of nowhere, then two Kamen Riders appeared. Put two and two together much?

They didn't move the school back. Someone's going to be confused discovering the school in the middle of nowhere.

The strange secret identity dynamic between Gavv and Valen is still fun.

So Valen did end up just asking Gavv for more Gochizo. Though it seemed the secret identity jig is up in the next episode.

Granuto Yado
Akazawa Ryotaro-san continued his role from the previous episode. He's usually active on stage, and is extremely skilled at playing both evil and kind characters. Even though it was his first time dubbing a monster, he did a very good job.


Action scenes
Director Shibasaki, Action Director Fujita and Special Effects Director Butsuda created a spectacular last kill. As GuruCan fired from a long distance, Valen slided across the ground on melted choco to retrieve the Human Presses. It was an amazing display of teamwork.

Generally, action and monster characters were thought up based on the Riders' forms and weapons that appeared in the episode, but this time they were roughly based on the formula of "Gurucan form = Big enemy" and "gatling cannon = Destroy solid objects." It was a scene that you could never imagined just reading the script, but the directors' direction transformed it into an amazing visual! The finishers were rendered in CGI, but the huge explosions were real! You can really feel the power of a real explosion!


Happy Birthday!

It's Miyabe-san's (Sachika) 21st birthday!!!
We had a grand celebration on the HappyPare set! Chinen-kun presented a cake and we took a photos with Hino-kun and Director Shibasaki, who stayed on the set that day!



And there's one more person!!
Hino-kun also celebrated his 22nd birthday! Cake ambassador Chinen-kun also presented him with a cake!

前回に引き続き赤澤遼太郎さんがご出演してくださいました。
普段は主に舞台で大活躍されている赤澤さんですが、悪い芝居と優しい芝居を非常に巧みに演じ分けてくれて、怪人アフレコも初挑戦ながらとてもお上手でした。

終盤はCGもふんだんに使われて豪華なアクションに！
柴﨑監督・藤田アクション監督・佛田特撮監督で圧巻のラスタチをつくってくださいました
グルキャンガヴが遠距離射撃をする中、ヴァレンはチョコの地面を滑走してヒトプレス回収するという見事な連係プレイ！
だいたいアクションや怪人のキャラクターは登場するフォームや武器を元に考えられるのですが、今回はざっくり言うと「グルキャンフォーム＝デカい敵」、「ガトリング・キャノン＝堅いものを壊す」という方程式で考案されました。
脚本上では想像もつかないようなシーンですが、監督陣の演出によって驚きの映像へと変貌しました！

必殺技はCGで描かれましたが、大爆破は本物！生爆破の迫力が伝わってきます。

I made this mistake too till Luna corrected me. They're actually at a nursery. If it were a school, it wouldn't make sense for people to mistake it for their actual school

To be fair, these two are pretty dense. If they haven't figured it out by now, why would we expect any different lol

When working on the wiki I noticed that too. He seemed like a decent enough actor, hope he gets some good gigs

I don't really mind the whole dancing around each other joke. It's endearing. Show has an odd mix of humor and seriousness, but I do not dislike.

Seems like in the next episode Shouta is going to see Hanto turn into Valen, or maybe be knocked out of his transformation. If that's even a thing that can happen in this show. Also, noticed a Ramune Gochizo in the first scene. They keep putting all of these Gochizos in scenes, and then we never see him use the power ups, so I don't know if they are saving them for later, or if they are more of a sight gag than anything. Also, when he got the Donut one today, I thought for sure that he was going to use it in some way to defeat the bad guy. But, unfortunately, he didn't. Also, it looks like we are back to the completely overused gravel pit, that almost all Super Sentai and Kamen Rider shows use.

Sachika looks a big different this week. is it just her hair?

Since she just got out of the shower, she hadn't redone her makeup.

She looks more "normal" in the scene at the end, after she'd had time to finish getting herself cleaned up while the guys were off being Riders together.

It is nice to see to have 2 Riders immediately being friendly to each other instead of the typical 2nd Rider being like "I don't like you because <insert annoying good trait>". I also do like them misunderstanding each other which is something innocent but I think once Hanto realizes Shouma is a Granuto, it may become antagonistic.
