I wonder if we'll get an in-world explanation for why some foods make Gochizo while others don't
Huh. Is it me or does it seem like the scene before they transitinoed into the opening was longer, but was cut for time?
Is she rich, how big is her bedroom?
I was wondering for a while what it actually meant to be kicked out of the family business. It would have been cool if this info were available earlier just so the villains also have stakes
That's a rich looking phone case. Sachika giving the lollipop
I like incognito Hanto. I bet that kid is important
What a lot of fun decorations in Emi's room. I wonder what it's usually used for
that cheesecake poster with the "I can't cook, who cares" behind" behind hunty
Sachika's outfits are always so wild. Hunty and his undealt with trauma
Man, SHouma running around in public, with everyone wearing business suits is quite the contrast
Rock star Lango, walking among the people. Don't fall in love with him, Sachika! He's probably a bad dude!
Tiger Boy. ZyuRanger! An eternal fantasy~
No, Shouma. Even I can tell you're misreading the situation. Thank you Japan for not showing us a kid lifting up his shirt lol. I hope these skin suits don't require a dead body like the ones in Lupat. Ohterwise, rip kid
Oh, I guess I never noticed the Stomach logo on the Minion before
Monster of the week design is cool this week
Just a random thought. It'd make a lot of sense for Wonka boy to be the grand uncle's human form, right?
Yay, more backalley fighting. It really adds some Jackie Chan dynamism to the fights
Oh, that alligator monster has a beard
Hey... maybe aim your gatling gun up at your brother. Credit to Lango's actor for just going "Huh, okay" and just nods
oh, I thought Valen was being dumb, but I guess that did save the girl
oh no, all his melty chocolate melted off. huh, it ended dramatically, but besides it being a surprise, Shouma shouldn't have a reason to be shocked that Hanto is Valen should he? Maybe I'm forgetting something
Edit:
Komura, stop orienting your stories about your heroes following children around!
Gotta love the twins. Their biggest worry about being married is ending their weird twincest

Yes, online scams are running running rampant. Teach the kids to be aware of them.
This was the alley where Valen first fought and lost to Glotta. They redecorated it to look like a back street alley. Apparently it was a filming set built in a space between the studio buildings. Explained why they can break things and do much more intense actions.
That extra who took out his phone to take a photo of Lango didn't get the memo to act like a npc on the street lol.

Shouma thought Valen was a modified Granuto like him. Hanto is a human.

The sisters and the sixth grader
The clients this time were two sisters that Shouma found at a sushi restaurant. The older sister, Emi, was played by Ishikawa Ruka-san. She was a poetic and straightforward older sister who was fascinated by Niwa's sweet message. The memorable scene where she was scared of Gavv after he helped her, was played very delicately, making the frustration and sadness even more painful.
Hana was played by Saito Rina-san. She was the reliable sister who was worried about her dreamy older sister. They didn't look alike, but the way they interacted with each other was full of sisterly vibe. Hana was annoyed by her sister's actions, but you can tell she cared about her sister very much.
The 6th grade boy who the Granuto disguised as was played by Kato Gaku-kun. He was chosen for the role after an audition. Director Kamihoriuchi gave him the stamp of approval for his imposing presence, bold acting, and good instincts.
The Granuto's voice didn't change even when in human form, and he's voiced by Tanaka Miou-san. Gaku's child appearance combined with Tanaka's mature voice was enough to cause confusion in the brain (lol).
Back alley
Gavv and the agents' fight took place in back-street themed alley. This was not a real place, but a large-scale art set constructed between the studios. The walls were usually plain, but we built new ones and decorated them with lots of graffiti. The decorations also had a realistic texture that gives the feeling of everyday life.
We were able to do actions such as dropping the outdoor air conditioning unit or breaking the handrails because it was a space we created. We were able to realized Action Director Fujita's action-packed sequences with higher intensity than ever before.
Lango descends into the human world
There was the scene where the sea of people naturally break apart due to Lango's intimidating presence.
This was filmed near the studio, but the number of people create the feeling of a crowded street, and the angle of the shot create the feeling of a busy downtown area in the city. The filming took place without releasing information about Gavv, so the TTFC members gathered together without knowing what would be filmed. Thank you for your cooperation.
Valen
Valen stole the Human Press from the Granuto despite being injured, and he detransformed right in front of Gavv. What will become of his relationship with Shouma, who he has been having a comedy-like conversation up until this point?!

Re: KR Gavv 11
Yeah, romance scams are very common. And using fake images is very common, including stolen ones. The best way to fight scams is to raise awareness. This reminds me actually of Dave Gorman's routine he did about someone using his pictures to scam people on Tinder, presumably not realising he was imitating a minor celebrity.
Unrelated to this episode, but the Toys R Us stuff in last week's Boonboomger makes me wonder if we'll get any sponsorships with real snack brands. Kamen Rider Gavv Diet Coke Cherry Form when? Ex-Aid did it with the Bandai Namco game Gashats, plus all the PSVR promotion.

I'm surprised we're not getting more things besides kamen rider gummys and chocos. Maybe it's time to expand to Kamen Rider hard candies, Kamen Rider cookies, Kamen RIder soursHowlingSnail wrote: Sun Nov 17, 2024 10:51 am Unrelated to this episode, but the Toys R Us stuff in last week's Boonboomger makes me wonder if we'll get any sponsorships with real snack brands. This week's Boonboomger feels like an advertisement for Boonboomger sausage at one point. If there's money to be made, Toei's going to shill for it

Re: KR Gavv 11
This episode landed the drama really well without feeling overly edgy or out-of-place. The sisters' relationship felt authentic, and Sachika and Shouma's buddy relationship let the comedy work even in a romance scam plot. Love how Hanto is a professional investigator, yet it's Sachika and Shouma who get hired to look into it while Hanto goes for his own reasons. Not so much a fan of having cheesecake pin-ups in a kids show, though that (plus the sketchy-looking neighbourhood) was an effective way to indicate that this wasn't a safe date. Take notes, kids; hope you'll never need 'em.
The twins dreading being separated from each other more than even a forced marriage makes sense considering they're the only people around who don't treat the other like disposable multi-tools. It's easy for innocence and empathy to misfire in a story, but Shouma's anger at Lango's treatment of the twins hit hard after how cruelly they treated him the last time they met. Not sure if this is leading up to a third party or an uneasy alliance, but either way I'm interested.
The fight scenes aren't something I normally consider, but this one really conveyed some grittiness--not in terms of violence, but the fights were palpable and conveyed the desperation of keeping an immobilized victim away from several dangerous hands. It's sort of the opposite extreme of a Sakamoto fight--there's still some flashy moves and explosions, but the fights feel really down-to-earth, which I think the limited moving space of Gavv's fight helped with.
On a similar note, Valen's sacrifice actually felt earned rather than being a dumb decision, forced plot point, or even simple trope like taking a bullet. Given just how vulnerable the victims are, both Valen opening himself to an attack and Gavv being occupied freeing Emi make complete sense as the only way to realistically rescue the victim. Even though the likelihood of perma-killing Hanto this early isn't exactly strong, making such a decision for someone he's hardly met shows his reasons for fighting go beyond a vendetta for his mother and boss. (As if that weren't impactful enough, that rescue scene's the most heartbreaking one we've had yet.) All in all, probably my favorite episode so far.

Re: KR Gavv 11
Okay, while I did suspect that the kid was the one involved (since he was just there in both of the scenes, I did not expect him to pull a Shirotabi on us. I jumped back a little from my computer when I heard his voice.
Toei is going all out with these filming locations. I feel like we're seeing more new ones with each episode rather than them recycling ones used in past Kamen Rider/Super Sentai shows.
As others have mentioned, I'm glad that (possibly indirectly) Toei is brining some awareness to online fake profile scams. Reminds me of the time when there were a bunch of fake celebrity profiles on twitter getting people to send them Bitcoin without checking to see if that was the actual person they were sending it to. Poor folks.
Wouldn't it be interesting if Lango ended up becoming a human sympathizer because he falls in love with Sachika? Go down that whole 'enemies-to-lovers' trope, not to mention it would be interesting to see Shouma's reaction to his older brother putting the moves on his boss.
Again, I can't stop gushing over how creative Gavv's fight scenes are. The way Lango's minion used the chord to wrap up Gavv was nice, and adding actual bottles of water to the vending machine prop so it looks real was a chef's kiss of prop development If I'd ever seen it.
I wonder if Eimi is going to end up becoming Hanto's legitimate love interest? Give him that 'woman-in-the-fridge' reasoning for a power boost later down the road.
Ah, so this is how the cookie crumbles with Hanto and Shouma discovering their identities. Not bad; gotta get it out the way for the rest of the series. Now all that's left is for Sachika to become a Rider and we'll have all three (I don't know if what I said is a spoiler or not because it's just based on the bouncing gummy that appears in her shot of the opening credits, and because Shouma and Hanto both have one that reveals their respective Rider Forms.)
Next episode: Doughnut time!

fun episode, scammers suck.
The alley fight was awesome.
Lango dominates every scene he is in, proving he has the charisma as lead villain.
Hanto sacrificing his Identity to save Emi, a true hero.

Solid episode all around. Don't think I was expecting the identity reveal to happen this soon, but it works. Great fight scenes and a great showing of our big bad(?) result in a stellar episode

Re: KR Gavv 11
This episode went a bit harder than I did expect, but a welcome surprise nonetheless. The earlier fight scenes between Gavv and the minions are really well choreographed, the enclosed space further elevate the intensity. Gotta love it when a fight doesn't lean in on CGI, it's rare these days for KR.
Looks like the secret identity gig is up, it lasted abit longer than I thought it would but the reveal of Valen's identity feels like a natural progression of the story. His and Gavv's friendship and mutual respect for one another felt earned, something I haven't quite seen between a primary & secondary Rider since Build.
For a bit I thought Sachika recognised Lango from somewhere, but it just seems like his presence caught her intrigued. Wonder if this is hinting of a story between them in the future.
I know it's likely not the case, but Lango's nod acknowledging Gavv's power feels like a proud older brother thing.
Stakes felt real this episode, side characters are likeable, MOTW design looks cool, and Valen's sacrifice feels necessary to the story rather than shoehorned in. Solid 4/5 for me.

Complete. Start Up. 3. 2. 1. Time Out. Reformation.

Re: KR Gavv 11
I continue to enjoy each episode of Gavv. Was a bit late watching this week (I've JLPT N4 next week so priorities are elsewhere).
Normally, I don't care much for the fights but the ones this season are so well done, that I've been really enjoying them! A lot of the fights have been really memorable all doing something really cool! They're really making the most of whatever environment they are in and it's very clever. I really appreciate it.
Sachika remains a fashion icon in my mind, and you cannot convince me overwise.
With how that episode ended, I feel like I'm going to have to watch the next one while it airs...
