GCCX 012 released
Wiki: http://wiki.tvnihon.com/wiki/GCCX_012
Assault! Showdown at Takeshi's Castle
Time to get those old man buns in gear, Arino!
Typesetting this was a bitch. 485 on-screen text lines, and they kept popping between close-ups so the position kept moving.

Re: GCCX 012 released
First time watching this series... And it was pretty amusing, but there was quite the bombardment of text. Found myself pausing the video a lot just to catch it all. Loved the little sweet shop he visited in Odawara City. The old vintage games were so fun to watch! I myself really want to play that Janken Perriot game, despite the fact that the little clown looked creepy as hell.

Yeah I'm just like Meri, this was the first time I watched this show. Arino is such a funny guy, especially due to his bad luck.
I liked the narration approach in this show; I think it worked brilliantly in the scenes when Arino was trying each of the challenges.
That shop also looked great but those kids were scary since they were experts at all of the games...

Re: GCCX 012 released
This guy's just ripping off Retro Game Master. And his narrator doesn't even speak english or sound completely disinterested!
Spoiler
The hero's eventually going to win. But at what cost? Also,

Oh wow, I thought this was like... on the bottom of the subbing priority list.
Glad to see it hasn't been forgotten. o wo;
....Uh... not to sound like a dick for asking, but does this mean there's more of this on the way?

Re: GCCX 012 released
GCX isn't on the bottom of the list, it's just one of the hardest things to time, translate, typeset and check over because it's really freaking long, there's a ton of onscreen text and Arino isn't the most distinct enunciator in the world.
I've got the next two timed scripts waiting for me to translate but there are obviously weeklies that come first and the movies.

Did anyone notice that the video file cuts off right during Arino's final attempt at the...well, I don't wanna get banned again for spoiling, so I'll leave it at that.

Video's complete on my side. Might want to check your crc since I believe your download is corrupt.

Re: GCCX 012 released
I got banned a couple of years back for mentioning what was going on during the SMB2/Lost Levels episode when a certain music cue I liked was playing, even while using the spoiler tag. I just didn't want to risk doing it again.Lunagel wrote:We're released it so it's not spoiling. What was cut off?
As for takenoko, I'll try downloading it again and get back to you.

Re: GCCX 012 released
I don't know why you got banned but if it wasn't released at the time, it probably would have been a ban. But if happens during the released episode, you can talk about it.

Re: GCCX 012 released
I know, Phoenix. It was in the released version of the episode in question and I used the spoiler tag to obscure what had happened at the spot in question, yet I still got banned for a month... When I was let back on, I decided to start minding my Ps and Qs with regards to things like that.
