Some of those movies already exist with licensing/distribution in the states. I know this cause I own some of them. How old is that article anyway? I ask cause I've owned some of that for several years.

the last part of it with the list of movie are what i have been able to find on what is out and coming out the top part about VIZ is from July 22, 2008

would seem that a lot of anime fans' dreams just came true. On Monday Fox signed a deal with Sunrise to gain the rights to make a Live Action Cowboy Bebop movie. Erwin Stoff (The Matrix, A Scanner Darkly) is set to produce the movie and told IFMagazine.com the project is "in the really early stages" since the parties "just signed it the other day."

Stoff goes on to say that there will be "a real degree of faithfulness," with the movie. He also had this to say: “When I met with them in Japan, one of the first things that I brought up was the experience that we had on A Scanner Darkly, and how hard we worked to remain faithful to Philip K. Dick, and that was our big concern here.”

So it seems that the ball is starting to get rolling for the adaptation of the classic series known as Cowboy Bebop.

M. Night Shyamalan Talks Avatar: The Last Airbender

July 21, 2008

In a recent interview in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Shyamalan revealed some information on his upcoming adaptation of the Nickelodeon series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. It appears that the film series may be made into a trilogy, and Shyamalan mentons that he plans on shooting the film first in Greenland, then the majority of filming will be in Philadelphia for three or four months as previously reported, but he then adds that the Philly shoot will be followed by a short stint possibly in Vietnam for "a few beautiful locations."

FirstShowing.net has gotten a hint from a reliable source the Keanu Reeves is set to play the part of Spike in the live action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop being adapted by Fox.

“He also revealed that Keanu Reeves has been attached as the lead character Spike for over eight months now and is still set for the role.”

They also said that the film is on the fast track at the studio and that we could see it by 2010.

The only thing a Western crew could do better for Death Note is play the roles of L (since he's only 1/4 Japanese) MAYBE Misa (depending on where she originated, I forget) and of course, Mello, Near, the mafia, and Near's American team. Oh, and Watari, since he was British.

I gotta say, I'm a bit confused about what Viz Pictures does. They brought us the first Death Note movie, but the impression I'm getting is that they're trying to remake Anime/Manga movies with Americans and vice-versa.

You should probably tell people thats not an official trailer. Just a really good fan made teaser really.

And for those who care it's a little over a month before the first Death Note movie is gonna be released on R1 DVD.
