Didn't he have a falling out/pull out of his agency and he's still blacklisted because of it? I thought that was the reason he never did his old roles?

I dunno, that sounds trueish. But agency stuff always confuses me.

The last I've heard was that Mizushima was still fond of his old role and that he would've come back to do Tendou again more recently but he was never asked about it.

Usually once you quit one agency it's hard to get an old role again. Likely there's something in the contracts stating that Toei has to go through the agency for that particular actor. If they leave then, Toei's hands are tied
