Think we watched Cat Island on Amazon Prime yesterday. Apparently they were going to rename the whole place Manga Island and they built some cat cabins with pics drawn by manga illustrators to welcome him.
However, Ishinomori died before that could happen, so only the corner with those cat cabins is called Manga Island.
Good documentary. You'd think it'd be more focused on the cats, but instead you get this kinda sad human slice of life drama too. Apparently they went from 1000 population to less than 100. And all the young people went away.
The guy working on the text was pretty funny in an absurdist ways. You get some guys labeled "One of three young people helpers on the island" and stuff.

Imagine willingly leaving a place called Cat Island.
we are here to take the blame; to take the taunts and live the shame
we are here to make you feel; it terrifies you, but it's real

I know, I thought it's crazy that more people don't go there or that there isn't a hospital or a regular vet. It's like the apocalypse happened and only old people survived.
