They're keeping the quality up. Kuon and Hoshiai struggling with their morality is good, especially since Kuon is fighting off Azami's evil influence.

Kouzuki looks like they know some martial arts too, definitely an interesting stance. What a dangerous addition to their already dangerous arsenal of cunning and treachery.

I love Amou. "Hmm, I want to fight that thing."

But yeah, bad guys are real ass bad guys, they pull no punches here. I guess pushing a guy away gives you enough Inga to let you get turned into a Horror? Pretty cold blooded, but really effective. I don't know how it is for other people, but I really like Hoshiai. They've really built him up and his relationship with Kuon to really make you think he's an untouchable regular. So it was really unexpected to lose him as early as this.

And they let you stew in his death. Surprise two, Hoshiai is alive just long enough to answer his phone in reality. Then a wordless credit scene and and preview. It feels bad in an extremely well crafted way.

Gotta admit, when those kids say Hoshiai hit them first, I believed them. I don't know if it was Azami's influence, doesn't matter. Those kids could have just been lying. But as a viewer, it made me doubt Hoshiai in the same way Kuon probably did in that moment, which is a bad feeling.

Really wasn't expecting Hoshiai to die this early, so this took me by surprise, really good acting from those two. Also I dunno if it's just me, there's something really kinda... sinister, or chilling about that shot of child Hoshiai just standing and looking at Kuon, I thought that when they used it last episode too, no idea why, maybe it's just a good shot.

The Hatsune Miku coronavirus advert cheered me up a bit though.

I like how the flashbacks are all hints of there being something really important in there. And when it all plays out, it's just a mundane childhood memory, but an important one for Kuon because it's one of his friend. As he descends deeper into the darkness, such a memory is going to be important to hold onto if he's to keep his humanity.

Azami's an even brutal gamemaster than Matthew Mercer could ever be.

I had a box for another show to cry on, but I used that box for this episode.

....Why/how did the horror enter Hoshiai? He wasn't even OOB.

I've been keeping quiet for half the show but holy damn this episode.

Sure feels bad for Kuon to see his best friend to die. Poor Hoshiai, I liked him and then he gets possessed by multiple horrors, damn.

Did we see the same thing? Hoshiai rushes to get the trinket back, they bullies do a keep away. Then the next scene shows Hoshiai being shoved to the ground.

The doubt was soooo real! LOL! I was like "Gasp! He hit them first!", but yeah, maybe not. Such a dramatic episode. I love it! Geez, the fight choreography is so good. You can tell they're having a really good time making up cool stunts and interesting staging for each scene. One of my favorite episodes right here. Oh, the moment when there are 2 silent quick edits of Kuon and Hoshiai enjoying life - POWERFUL.

Also, I really don't think this show had Garo in mind when they were developing it. It was probably just adapted from another screenplay. Who knows... It's still great!

Makes me wonder if the serial killer is Kamen Rider Wizard's suit actor, with his kick moves looking familiar.

We see some wing Chun like Kungfu actions too.
