Reiwa the First Generation released
Wiki
Loved it. It felt like a real passing of the torch between generations, like with Begin's Night.
Why does it look like Aruto still lives in the apartment from when he was a comedian? Does he not get paid a CEO's salary?
I thought Kamen Rider Ichi-gata was very cool as a design.
Thought the very human story of Zero-One really grounded the time traveling aspects of Zi-O. It's cool to see Aruto's father and grandfather.
Also Fuwa and Yaiba lead a post apocalypse survival camp. Pretty rocking.
Another Ichigou being an Ichigou centaur with a bike is hilarious. Wish we could have learned more about Finis. Her design was cool, loved her ridiculously long robe.
It's funny to watch this now, since it came out before Geiz Majesty. But since everything got reset again, it was pretty seamless a transition to watch it out of order. Funny how that works.
I'm a little sad that this series doesn't go deeper into the sci-fi stuff. Like that robot just asked his robot master for fair compensation for the work they do and his master ignored him. That's screwed up. It's like that episode of Star Trek where Data is on trial. Korenosuke just wants to make a slave race of expendable people.

I love this movie, as well as Fuwa and Yaiba kicking ass.
Apparently, Rocking Hopper's based on the Rocky Mountain locust.
Initially, I predicted Finis would've been some hidden clone made with the original, obedient memories of Alpina, before she became Tsukuyomi with directives to kill whoever killed Schwartz.
Can't wait for the SH Figuarts Ichigata.

Oh yeah, why was she named that. I'm reading Alpino means "blonde" or "related to the Alps". <confused shrug>

Alpina's namesake is a Switzerland-based watchmaker company. And Swiss watches are apparently the cream of the crop for long-lasting endurance.
On another note, I've noticed that Aruto's ForceRiser is using the CycloneRiser's audio instead of the ForceRiser's own audio.

Ah, right! I think I knew that back then, but I forgot. Thanks for the reminderTypicalStandUser wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 7:40 am Alpina's namesake is a Switzerland-based watchmaker company. And Swiss watches are apparently the cream of the crop for long-lasting endurance.

What's the difference between the audio cues?

Re: Reiwa the First Generation released
Thinking about it a bit more, another missed opportunity was any interaction between Korenosuke and Soreo and Aruto. It would have been nice to have seen what kind of living human family Aruto had after both his parents died. Maybe Korenosuke's businessman neglect is with Aruto is the way he is.
And Korenosuke built a robot version of his own son. Like that's some Black Mirror shit. Why couldn't we have seen more of what that was like? (Didn't like the wife enough to give Aruto a robot mom)

Really enjoyed this movie, I haven't seen Zi-O but their involvement seemed interesting, might have to go check that out sometime.

Re: Reiwa the First Generation released
My only disappointment in this movie is that I was expecting Sougo to don Ohma Zi-O again.
Re: Reiwa the First Generation released
This was pretty nice! A big screen adventure that gives some cool insight into not just Aruto's past and ideals, but into his father as well. I really liked how they used and referenced Ichigo with Ichi-gata, the first rider of this world, and have him passing that torch to Zero One. It's appropriate that Begins Night was mentioned, because Ichi-gata also reminds me a lot of Kamen Rider Skull.
The fight between the two near the climax was really great (and honestly is much better than the actual climax against the typical CGI monster). It helps that Ichi-gata just looks really darn cool, along with bootleg Zero One (apparently officially known as Zero Zero One) who I honestly think might wear the look better than the other Forceriser users.
That said, this story really is just Aruto's though. Every other character is only filling in for the sake of fight scenes. Not just AIMs and Metsubojinrai, not even just the new Another Rider and Timejacker, but even the entire Zi-O cast! I really don't have anything to say about them. Calling this movie a crossover between Zi-O and Zero One is probably being far too generous. If you removed Sougo and pals and just had someone in Hiden Intelligence build a time-machine or something, you'd probably get a very similar, possibly even better product.

I don't think Ichi-gata is supposed to be a robot version of Aruto's human dad, they had that whole thing in one of the early episodes about how that's against the law. He probably just happens to be the humagear tasked with raising Aruto because Korenosuke trusts him enough to do so.

But they're both named Hiden Soreo?BreadToku wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 5:48 am I don't think Ichi-gata is supposed to be a robot version of Aruto's human dad, they had that whole thing in one of the early episodes about how that's against the law. I mean not necessarily, the law could have been passed after Korenosuke did that (maybe specifically cause he did that?)

Wasn't the law specifically that a Humagear can't be made based on a real person without that person's consent? Maybe the original Soreo just gave permission for his double to be made in case anything happened.
