Alt Title: GekiRanger nostalgia episode
What a fun nostalgia trip without getting bogged down with anniversary series or capitalizing on nostalgia. It just felt like a nice homage to a previous series and we got not one but two guests that worked well together in the episode. Miki's a badass, but so is Natsume!
Disappointments are points where it seems like Natsume will do something cool, like ride the bike down some stairs or do some cool kung fu moves, but she doesn't
Bet the Toei staff were excited to film this episode!
Looks like Jan had infected all the people around him

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MIKI-SANNNNNNNNNN!!!!
Damn Natsume is tiny. I don't think she's grown an inch since Geki. But she's about Sera's height, lol.
Kinda funny seeing the obviously not HD or widescreen Geki footage. I feel like this is a Sentai first? Have we ever gotten a sempai series' footage/actors in the same role as they played before? Excluding VS series, of course.
Those of you who did not like the Jan speak in Geki... Maybe skip this episode
BEAST ON!!!!

Kuwae is 4'8" whereas Sara is 5'2"
Hasn't Sentai been released in widescreen since Boukenger. Why no native widescreen/HD footage for geki?
Hmmm, feels like something that had to have happened before in those sentai anniversary shows? Looks like this article is out of date:

Re: Kiramager Episode 27 released
I have a strange relationship with Geki. It was airing when I got into Sentai and I liked it the time but I've never really thought about it much afterwards.
I feel the same about this episode. It's only really here because from what I've read both the producer and the episode writer were the main ones for Geki, but it doesn't fit an anniversary of any kind and the point of the episode is Sena accepting Jan speak? It didn't really do much for me.

Re: Kiramager Episode 27 released
My entire focus during this episode is over the fact that Natsume didn't grow an inch since the end of Gekiranger.
Re: Kiramager Episode 27 released
Why's everyone just repeating 'she hasnt grown an inch' like it's a mantra.
This was a fun episode as usual. I actually found the most interesting and dynamic bits to be all the scenes of Sena running through the city. The Gekiranger homages were cute and certainly hit my own personal nostalgia spot since I'm a big fan of that show. Funny thing is that a little bit before Mach showed up at the end of the mecha fight, I actually was thinking "huh, it is a little strange how we haven't heard from him at all".

Re: Kiramager Episode 27 released
And it's not true. If you look at the history on the Japanese wiki, she's listed as being 140 cm back then. She's a full 143 cm now! Get it straight! I may not be a big fancy city scientist, but 3 cm is almost an inch!

3 cm is slightly more than an inch.
Let's rephrase: She's only grown an inch since Geki.

Re: Kiramager Episode 27 released
Does it mean that Toei is unlikely further remastering the Sentai into Blu-Ray box?
Toei only remastered both DekaRanger and Go-Onger into Blu-ray box.

Re: Kiramager Episode 27 released
Gekiranger was the first season I watched while it was airing, so I'm definitely all for this episode. I probably would've went with a few different scenes for that flashback montage but it was decently effective. I see you bandai, putting the actual products you're selling in the catalog they're looking at. I was actually surprised by the episode when Mach jumped in at the end to join the battle. Seems like the writers are having fun with the characters this season.
I do wonder if any of the actors watched gekiranger growing up. Based on their age, I think they're probably off by a few years, but it's always a possibility.

It happened a few times in Ninninger. Actually made that season feel more anniversary-esque than Zyuohger. I think the show benefits from the occasional reference here and there. Not every season is easily worked into others, but they did a good job here. The nostalgia factor along with a bit of world building just makes the show seem a little less like a soulless toy commercial.Lunagel wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 5:51 pm EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MIKI-SANNNNNNNNNN!!!!

Yeah, Ninja red and Hurricane Red showed up together and then Magi yellow appeared later on. I feel like I'm also forgetting another one.

Shurikenger in a flashback episode later on as well.
