I'm the biggest Build apologist out there, but the fact it's only behind Den-O by 0.3% tells you something is amiss.

You could argue that, but then Faiz and Ryuki are fairly high as well, which wouldn't support that theory.

One opinion I've always had, is that Heisei Rider has always been fairly divisive, primarily because the quality of the seasons varies. The shows never had the level of consistency that Sentai had over the same period of time. Which is why I doubt you'll ever manage to hit a consensus what's really 'the best' without polling some serious numbers.

I am interested to see how this poll here turns out, given there are obviously a lot of people voting that usually lurk.

I gotta say it's pretty hard for me to vote when I don't know whether I'm voting for the show or the character because my top pics for each category would be vastly different.

Let's say your favorite character is Build, but he's in one of the worst written stories ever. So your character might be a favorite, but the series itself is a terrrible. As a hypothetical example

Or in my case, Ex-Aid. Favorite show, but I wouldn't pick the character as first.

My tops are Fourze and Kuuga (thank you TokuSHOUTsu for the latter ) with Ryuki as 3rd. It kills me that only Kuuga made the top five but, whatever, I still love them

I like Decade a lot, but I get it if people feel let down by the story. Still an epic anniversary series before Toei supersaturated themselves with them

For me Decade will always have a special place in my heart as it was the very first season I ever watched. That said I ended up voting for W because it had the perfect mix of action, plot, comedy and serious moments. After those two, my top 5 are in no order are Gaim (loved how it started off super light hearted but got SO DARK SO FAST), Build (the over arching mystery was awesome and then once Evolt showed up shit got real...at it was rather funny at times), Kabuto (good god was it fucking weird at times), Faiz (gotta love how the two groups kept helping each other while also trying to kill the others without even knowing it) and I'm gonna get alot of hate for this, but Zi-O is also in that list. The main reason I like Zi-O was due to it being Decade Season 2 half the time and I think they did a great job weaving Tsukasa into Sogo's tale.

Obviously my favorite show wouldn’t be my favorite show if I hated the protagonist but there can still be differences between my favorite shows and my favorite characters. For example Sougo and Gentarou are definitely some of my favorite main riders but their shows aren’t exactly among my top picks. On the other hand Gaim is probably my favorite season but Kouta (while still good) isn’t in my top 5 main riders. Maybe top 10 but not the best.
