That fighting is almost as competent as Toei, but the camera is shaky and there's some loose choreography. I do enjoy the sound effects they used for the hits, it's very gamey feeling

Man they hold on that title screen way too long

Pink's suit actress doesn't look like she quite knows the roll call

I see they're still giving the monster voice the worst filter

That's actually a pretty good bad guy costume. I dig the armor ont he white face

Are all t hese bad guys evil Tuxedo Masks? That guy is just drinking on the set. Is that how he committed himself to be a part of this?

There's a Shitennou, but there's a fifth guy leading them? Hey Giga, I've got a tip on how you could have saved some money

This writer sure likes this team domestic. "Hmmm, what do women do? I know, they cook and talk about cooking. Nailed it."

LOL at her catching his hand. So silly

Man, that guy is getting slapped around. Cool death. I thought he was going to turn to ash like an Orphenoch

I enjoyed it without understanding much of the dialog.

In the opening credits the bishounen card boys have one guy drinking and another guy smoking.

I like the odd sort of movement they gave the mooks, very spider-like.

When Pink got weakened and lost her helmet, the first thing I thought was "wow, she must have a good stylist to avoid 'helmet hair'".

I would like to know how pink explained her babyface come back in her fight against the Dark Kingdom General after getting beaten down by the MOTW.

Was the general's last words: "This is BS. Beautiful, but BS!"?

Any chance for SRT or ASS files for this series?

I've got stuff to check off and e-mails to respond to. Probably not going to be a high priority for me, just something to work on off to the side

Prism Three

Man, like the other unofficial sentai series, this one retains the trend of poor acting to be sure. The only one I found convincing was the monster at the beginning when the voice actor for it was using a voice changer. Also, there was such a long filler scene with the girls just standing around spouting random one-word affirmations at each other, which made me cringe and say, "Okay, we get it, move on already." At least the special effects seem to be done well. The glowing eyes while the camera was still moving and the glows staying perfectly on the eyes were nice, though I would bet the effects software tracked the eyes automatically instead of it being a manual painstaking frame-by-frame edit process. I also see the bad guys use Jojo's "stand logic" but in reverse, where the "stand" takes the same damage when the user is hit instead of the other way around.

Well, this is definitely a cheap production. I just wonder if these knockoffs are even popular enough to make a profit. I guess with Superhero Time being once a week, people are willing to watch anything for an extra fix.

Why ask why? After all, they do have as many females as Don Brothers.

I guess losing the helmet reduces their fighting ability so that they have to rely on slaps when they are off?

While I know that Giga is using the youtube shows as advertisements for tie-in pr0ns, I wish in this case that the series could have been longer than four episodes and not been contained in two days. Giga has learned the joys of having a four General team, but they haven't caught on to the idea that Generals are strong enough to escape back to Dark Kingdom at the end of a fight so the heroines just get to beat up the MOTW each week while having wacky adventures on the side to fill out 24 minutes. While Pink, Blue, and Yellow might not have the chops to pull off weekly wacky adventures, they do seem to have some promise.

An improvement that Giga should consider in the future: an ending dance! Even if Pink, Yellow, and Blue have two left feet and look ridiculous dancing, it would make them look more moe to the audience. It might be expensive to shoot and stage but at least they get to use the footage in every episode. Or, do the gimmick where the mooks do the ending dance in between getting chased by the heroines.

A little unrelated, but I noticed that the GIGA tokusatsu navigation box in the wiki (included in the wiki article for this) has Fontaine's name twice; maybe someone could fix that

On the whole, this is above average for a GIGA production. Which, to be sure, it doesn't rise above being a GIGA production - it's plenty uneven - but it's a better start than usual for a Sentai parody.

Going with a 3 woman team is an interesting change of pace. One of the downsides of a proper mixed gender Sentai team is that, as we've seen before, it means The Chick gets an uneven amount of focus, since GIGA wants to promote their starlet. I'm assuming all three actresses are JAV actresses, so, presumably, the attention will be more evenly spread out among all the heroes. The fact that there aren't any JAV actresses among the villains helps as well in this respect.

The series is definitely lacking in the plot department, however. The Prisms talking is basically just filler with a very weak varnish of exposition of character traits. There's simply nothing of substance going on outside of fighting the bad guys. And there's nothing here to imply that they're fighting the bad guys for any reason besides the fact that they're the bad guys, and that they'd destroy the world otherwise. i.e. the most basic of rationales for a hero.

I'm surprised we get 5 face villains here. But it's an interesting motif - a pretty boy villain for each hero - and a welcome departure from the villains being a bunch of gruff try-hards. Giving them a card suit theme is also a nice nod to JAKQ.

The action in this first episode is at the upper end of GIGA's range, so they're bringing their A game here. The acting is not so good, and is no doubt a trade-off of having all of the heroes played by JAV actresses rather than shuffling some traditional actors in there. But hey, at least pink's actress wears the spandex well (and it's always nice to get a helmetless scene early in a series).

The OP also isn't half-bad. Though I could do without the swirling shots towards the end; it's almost a bit nauseating.

And the MOTW is named Tentas, eh? Oh! I should have seen that coming.

Agreed. Next to the actresses being easy on the eyes (for obvious reasons), the other thing GIGA is doing well at is the hand-to-hand stunt choreography. But you're also right that the shaky camera isn't doing them any favors.
I see they're still giving the monster voice the worst filter
I don't mind voice filters. But man, you're not wrong about this one being especially bad.

It's all one being advertisement for the porn. If it sells some overpriced porno DVDs and gets GIGA's name out, then it's apparently worth it to GIGA.

Fixed. That box is editable by clicking the e on the box

Yeah, still not good, but sorta on the more competent side of GIGA, while still having many of the flaws that GIGA has lol

I thought it was funny because sometimes the writing for female characters in Toei can be just as shallow

And this is why Toei made the big brain play of only having one female hero, that way if she's ever talking to someone it's a man!

Yellow and Blue are not JAV. They work for Zen, a company that apparently shares some staff with Giga, but does not put out pr0n. Zen does put out Tokusatsu but other than heroine in danger and up skirt shots I think you're not going to get much on the hentai side. (At least these videos are only $20 each and rarely have bad end's.) Both Blue and Yellow have done many videos before for Zen so it doesn't look like they emphasize learning acting at Zen.

If Yellow and Blue show up in a subsequent Giga Movie it will be their suit actors, like they did with the guys in Dinnovaters.

Interesting. Good to know. Pink is likely going to get the lion's share of the focus, then.

I wouldn't mind seeing two of her in one frame, even if they're talking about cleaning :P
