Hey Rinko's back

Why are Sakura and Hana stuck with cleaning duty? Are they cleaning this fake bathroom in between fighting hte monsters? /me looks at the door. That door ain't ever been clean

Oh hey Akiko is here. Come to think of it. The only girls we don't have are any from OOO, Fourze, Gaim, Drive (Ooh, Kiriko would have been a good one), or Build, Zi-O

Getting in some good kicks. I like it. Did Sakamoto direct this? I'd be willing to bet

I like the eye lady. Good design, even if it's simple

Sakura gets Garren knife guns? Hana gets OOO discs? This part is a big CGI barfy, but at least Sabela's swordplay is good

I can see why Is doesn't transform. Zero-Two would wipe these guys out too quickly

Oh hey, Miss Titan is voiced by Matsumoto Rica. Been a while

Riot in bloom. Love the ending with Hana singing

What? Sakmoto Koichi directed this? No way

Man, it's nostalgic to see so many characters from Rider all together like this. It kind of feels like the dialogue is kind of bad? It's kind of like how the Prism Three first episode was all about the girls talking about cooking. How many times are you going to have the girls in this series talk about cleaning?

Pretty enjoyable seeing all of these familiar faces.

Pretty sure the OOO discs are repainted Kiwi Arms from Gaim.

It feels like the Hero Mama special where half of the dialogue was just how they did all the housework while still kicking butt (offscreen). Like, I love the girls but ffs can I get some better dialogue please?

I did enjoy Komura Junko's writing for the tanuki short. Maybe she should have been tapped for it

One thing I like about the Paper Girls adaptation is that they got a female lead and directors to do the episodes, since the show is primarily about tween girls

And Akiko being here adds more fuel to my hatred of Futo Tantei recasting everyone, but I've ranted enough about that...

Fourze it'd have to be Tomoko who I guess isn't popular enough to warrant a return? Gaim I guess it'd have to be Malika since Mai's actress has just given birth and I'm guessing was pregnant at the time this was filmed.

As for Build,
Spoiler
isn't the girl that isn't Misora in episode 2, along with Kanon?

Except isn't the timing a little too coincidental for Double actors to be returning around now, which could mean she's back because of that series (not that Accel hasn't returned plenty of times on his own).

For Fourze, they could also get Miu since her actress was in Ten Gokaiger and Malika would need an explanation for being there despite being dead (though that happens plenty without explanation) and there isn't any explanation for these characters from different worlds interacting like they're from the same one, but that is often how the crossover specials are done so it's all neither here nor there I guess.

This is fun. The plot isn't really good, imo. I don't get why Hana is angry at Sakura. But I think I really appreciate seeing all the girls together in one place like this. I still wish I could see Yua out of suit. Although there's something really cool that makes me feel happy just seeing her in her Rider suit. Just loved seeing Valkyrie.

I haven't watched W yet, but Akiko is very entertaining here. She isn't a rider, but she has a pretty big role in this special. It's somehow really cool that both husband and wife have appeared in Revice specials.
Why is Is' cleaning skill so impressive to all the girls? Is it because it's fast? Or is it because the rest of the 5 girls are all bad at simple chores? That's kinda weird.

I wish they got Hina. She has been around for the OOO 10th movie and specials, it would've been nice to see her here.
Spoiler
Not to mention that she got to transform into OOO in one of those specials.
Gotta mention Riot in Bloom, which is epic as everyone says. "My dream"was a great song but I love this one a lot too. Different genre but equally enjoyable. Why did they have to make Sakura's song so... Mediocre? I'd even be willing to say it's bad because... it's not very likable to me.

Now I really want to see an all-star Sentai girls team up like this one. Girls in Trouble and Hero Mama League(speaking of which, will we not get any other episodes for HML since that special was called episode 1) were decent but I want one with only female Sentai members who aren't all married women with kids. I want to see girls from different Sentai seasons get together for a team-up like this one. And there are a lot of possiblities in Sentai. I particularly want to see Jasmine and Tsukasa team up. They're both cops (albeit one being from space police and the other being from global police), why haven't they teamed up yet? And I know Sakamoto Koichi gets involved whenever there's a special about girls, but I'd like for him to stay out of the Sentai girls team-up project.

Guess they needed them to have that conversation in the weekend base since their house is occupied by the other girls so they came up with a lame (and anti-feminist) reason to get them there even when they shouldn't be.

Spoiler
Sawa comes in episode 2 with Kanon and Tsukuyomi shows up for the big Henshin scene in episode 3. But having no girls from 4 seasons is still quite a lot of seasons missing.

Don't you read the Toei website prior to watching these specials? I thought you guys read that stuff to update the TV-Nihon wiki and all....

I know Sabela has always been good but in this special she stands out particularly as the female Rider who uses a sword as her regular weapon. And that's cool.

No, I make it a point to not watch trailers or know anything before viewing a thing. I try not to do anything that'll bias my experience beforehand

You gotta admit the Girls Remix is pretty good. Too bad it didn’t happen around May

I thought that second part by takenoko was sarcasm...

lol. It's partly sarcasm since I guessed correctly (pretty easy with the Sakamoto director fingerprints he puts on all his works), but I didn't know for sure till I saw the credits

I finally got around to watching this special. Since we're in the middle of Fuuto PI's run it's somewhat convenient timing, as this way I get to see OG Akiko as well.:)

At this point I don't have any deep insights to add that haven't been stated elsewhere. I never did watch Revice or Saber, so I'm a little out of the loop with their respective stories/characters. But it's pretty easy to get caught up on the basics.

It's neat to see all these actresses together again. But as already noted a few different times, the writing isn't really there to support the special. The plot is unfocused/haphazard, and the dialog is worse. There's potential here, but Luna is right: a bunch of women talking about cleaning is just about the laziest/least interesting scenario imaginable. Though this may just be a Toei thing; struggling to make a team-up work outside of the fights is not a new problem here.

Despite all that, it was entertaining. But there's clear room for improvement.

Emphasis on the lady, as well. I'm not sure who they have doing the stunts, but it was clearly a female stuntie. Which it's nice to see Toei not just paying lip service here to an all girl teamup, and letting their stuntwomen share in the action.

Until I read this thread, it hadn't even occurred to me that Sakamoto directed this. Which is a bit surprising even to me, since it seems like I'm usually the first one to pick up on these things.

By Sakamoto standards, this episode was fairly subdued. Going back and watching it again I can see the signs, especially with the kicks. But the lack of any wire-fu or other more bombastic elements makes Sakamoto's influence a little less obvious.

Still, if you're going to do an all-girl KR team-up, Sakamoto is the obvious candidate given his experience (Girls in Trouble, Yodonna, etc). On which note, it occurs to me that this is being released almost exactly a year after Yodonna. So I guess a continuation of that is definitely no longer in the cards. :(

I guess Toei couldn't keep Nashiko around forever. They did what they could!
