I don't quite know where to put this thread. Up to this point, I've been putting them with the series that seemed like it'd make the most sense, but this has so many small crossovers that it

Random thought, reviving dead Riders by just cloning them with Humagears is pretty handy, Speaking of which, did we see who the second Humagear was?

Everything is is kind of interesting, but I think having one of the coolest Riders (Horobi) getting beaten by one of the latest (Gold Drive) is pretty unsatisfying

Ooh, it's pretty awesome to see Zeronos. It kind of smacks of grabbing whoever was available, but I'm interested in seeing how they make this story work

I mean, that was sorta fun in that it was like "Here's some guys you like, don't you like seeing them?" more than "Here's characters you like doing interesting things"

You know what, I take back what I said about Zeronos being kind of random. Since Zeronos was a Rider that did use up cards, it does seem fitting that he'd inherit a power to shred Decade cards

Thankfully not actually Decade cards. Clearly based on them and still Rider Cards, but all have Zein's emblem on the back instead so they're making their own, maybe?

Being the ultimate Kamen Rider Fanboy. If he doesn't show up in future Kamen Rider crossovers, the world isn't right. He even sings a song of name dropping all the major Riders, first secondary Riders, and all the Revice Riders.

I'm just glad to know that Zein is supposed to be a good guy. The episodes before this one I couldn't figure out if Zein was supposed to be good or evil. I thought the Outsiders are the trope "to fight evil, figut with evil."

I do like that little nod to how Zeronos' powers worked, intentional or not. Still, I'm having a difficult time trying to work out an in-show explanation for why anybody would intentionally make a Driver do this:


"Check it out, everyone. This is my greatest creation: this belt and these cards will let someone use the power of pretty much any Rider you can imagine! Any ability, any weapon... the bad guys won't stand a chance."

"Wow, that's amazing, congratulations! It seems incred..."

"But wait, there's more! This is the real genius: the belt shreds the cards so each power can only be used exactly once. Awesome, right?"

Probably not their first choice. Even with the cards having Zein's emblem and likely being made based on the originals, they might work the same way or as well so they're only one shots that have to be broken down to utilize.

Not that Driver mechanics are often delved into too much, but it would be weird if they managed to make use of something like the Rider Cards with something not from that series. (Yes, I know DiEnd was around earlier, but hopefully they wouldn't have him help anyone else with something like that.)

OK I'm all caught up. Is it me or is the suit actor for Ouja gotten even more 'hefty' looking? I always thought he looked a bit thicc in the original series but looks like he packed on a bit more since the last time in the suit. Just find it weird when the henshin cancels and there stands the actor thinner then the suit actor. Looks like Zeronous put on a bit of weight, he don't look like the scrawny young guy from Den-O. Did Ren's book change also, it glowed a bit but then they cut to Des.

I ended episode 2 in a confused state. Episode 3 has not helped in this in the slightest.

So Zein is not an entity, but rather is a set of Kamen Rider powers? That really doesn't jibe with the first couple of Outsider episodes, which very explicitly treat Zein as an individual entity - a "good" super AI that is going to go overboard and wipe out humanity for the good of the world. Unless the suit is going to eventually take off and act on its own, it really doesn't make any sense to have a previous rider wearing it.

And this goes to show I don't know my pre-DenO shows very well. But Tachibana Sakuya is a previous KR character, isn't he?

Meanwhile Gold Drive (Banno) is certainly an interesting choice. If an Outsider is going to get wiped out, you'd be hard pressed to find a better choice. He really is a scumbag with no redeeming values, unlike the other Outsiders who toe the line on being anti-heroes, and thus are the heroes of this story. And to that end, I appreciate the humor in explicitly pointing out that he doesn't fit with the group - that he's an outsider among the Outsiders. I'm sure we'll never get an explanation for why he's now bronze, but I can work with it on a symbolic level.

And does anyone else find Nico's hat weird? I'm guessing they're trying to hide a wig with that.

Finally, seeing the Zein suit makes me appreciate the effort and money Toei has put in to the series, despite being a spin-off. While it's not a super high budget affair, in 4 episodes we've gotten a new suit, a new driver (countdown until Toei starts selling it?), tons and tons of returning characters, and some pretty good fights. For as short and infrequent as the episodes are, it's a surprising amount of effort on their part.

At 3 months between episodes (and 9 months since the series began), I actually appreciated the recap. Yeah, it ate into some of the run time, but with each episode basically being an isolated story, it's helpful to get an idea of where this episode is trying to go.

The finale of Ex-Aid had her investing her gaming winnings into Genm stock. However I believe this is the first time the subject has come up since then. It certainly didn't stop Kuroto Dan from using the corp for his own whims in episode 0.

Yeah, that was quite weird. Normally when you don't have an actor available, you downplay it. But there was no obvious reason to involve Brain in this episode, as he didn't actually do anything. Even though he shows up in the next episode, I don't get what they were going for here.

Maybe? Given that the first episode of Outsiders would have been produced a year ago, it's hard to imagine they were thinking that far ahead. On the other hand, the new driver was only introduced in this latest episode, so they may be winging things a bit.

The fact that the current cards are redecorated Decade cards makes me doubtful. But clearly, anything is possible.
