What? Jermie's spy guy ran off, told on Jeremie, but just comes back with him? Seems like kind of a weird move
They have floating Zoom, but there's no air conditioning in the throne room? The arbitrary technology of this story. Also, is no one going to comment on the lava pouring out of their lands?
Love that the palace guards are so incompetent that a kid can break in
Can't go over how bad plan the bad guy's plan is
The festival is fine, but why have it while spider-man is fighting the king bad to prevent the world from being destroyed? King-Ohger sure like the profile shot
Jeremie went from dealing with underground king to confronting a child? Boon sees h is monster hand and labels him as the enemy???
Not sure if this series is strong enough to have a good stance about systematic oppression, but let's see what they have to say
Rita's summer outfit is cute
So wait, if there's a sun in Chikyuu, does that mean this is a literal hollow Earth?
Now kids are breaking into their super military machines
The crayfish costume is pretty fun, and points for the oddball method of using fishing to beat the giant enemy
Cool points, standing there unaffected while your enemy hits you. Lame points, jumping and clearly having no animations for movement because you're too heavy
What is Jeremie doing. Does he really think Deznarak has a point? He literally wants to destroy the world
Is it just me, or is Jeremie's spider webs especially poor cgi quality this week?
Jeremie this is your fault you idiot
What is happening in that preview...

Gira's arc seemed to be over for now. The others were going to help with his inexperience and then teased him endlessly about it. Hopefully he's going to drop his evil king facade.
Yanma was literally scamming with an unwinnable game. At least the others were doing business honestly.
Kaguragi's character song was really catchy.
Himno didn't run a stand. Or was she in charge of the fireworks?
Rita's Moffun fanclub mask was slipping. Love the hat and the shaved ice.
Do crayfish eat spiders?
For someone who loved to emphasis reading between the lines, Jeremie literally could not see the conflict was born from his own writings. Hostility that was rooted in the core of both race for 2000 years cannot be easily rectified.
Now I'm confused though, did the war 2000 years ago actually happened? Did Jeremie wrote the legend from his imagination or did he based the story on actual events?

Even Kaguragi?!
>Do crayfish eat spiders?
It was either that or bait it with God Ant?
>For someone who loved to emphasis reading between the lines, Jeremie literally could not see the conflict was born from his own writings. Hostility that was rooted in the core of both race for 2000 years cannot be easily rectified.
I really didn't like this plot device. Jermie had to have -50 IQ to not understand that his story obviously paints the Bugnarok as black and white villains
>Now I'm confused though, did the war 2000 years ago actually happened? Did Jeremie wrote the legend from his imagination or did he based the story on actual events?
That too. He was born after the war, so are they implying that history is more complicated than it seems? It's an important theme, and is especially relevant with Japan and their own denial of their culpability in World War 2, but also doesn't feel like this writer has the chops to bring that together in a satisfying way...

Re: King-Ohger 24 discussion post
Tonally, this episode was all over the place. On the one hand you have Deznarok attempting to commit outright omnicide of an entire planet. On the other hand you have a giant robot fishing. This is a very important episode overall, but it comes with a lot of whiplash in the process. I could be reading in between the lines in the wrong way here, but this feels like someone at Toei mandated that King-Ohger do a traditional Sentai summer episode, but for whatever reason, that had to get smashed into a major plot episode. (Everything goes to hell within 60 seconds of the episode starting!
)
I liked where the serious side of this episode was going with its themes of history and culpability, and the idea that maybe the past isn't what all of the current characters think it is. It's almost a bit conspiracy theory-ish, but I can roll with it. At the same time, so far it's ended up being unsatisfying? Perhaps this is just because this is (presumably) the first part of what is essentially a two-parter. But there were a lot of things happening that didn't quite gel together, mostly for how it was presented more so than what was presented.
Overall I kind of thought we were past Jeremie's misguided neutrality between the Bugs and humans, but apparently not. Thus far it's made him a near-constant screw-up, and now he's made his biggest screw-up yet. It's a character arc, so eventually he'll get better. But having him tying up his teammates this far into the series to save a Bug from them does come off as forced drama for the sake of drama.
One way or another, I'm guessing this is about to be the curtain call for Deznarok. Sentai cycling through big bads is hardly new, but I've never known quite what to expect with him. Having the team interact with him so frequently is a nice change of pace from the boss that remains out of reach for 40 episodes. At the same time it's been kind of weird that Jeremie can apparently just walk in to Bug HQ and strike up a conversation.
On the action side of matters this week, the Deznarok fight was pretty short overall. But I liked that we got a location shoot ground fight, getting away from the green screens of the past few episodes. The robo fight was less interesting (and was shot almost entirely against a green screen), but when else are you going to see a giant robot fishing for crayfish?
As an aside, I'm at the point where I can't tell where the heavy film grain on the fight within Bug HQ is a stylistic choice, or a consequence of shooting in a relatively dark location (and thus high ISOs). It does end up being rather distinct, at any rate.
Typo in the Anon subs (for anyone curious). 11:59: "That's the only way of releasing the Bugnarok from our its stigma"

Clearly he's never seen rule number one of being a spy: don't let the enemy know you're spying on them.
Oddly, it seems to be gone after the OP?\Also, is no one going to comment on the lava pouring out of their lands?
An orphan stole the whole lot of them in episode 1. So if nothing else, it seems par for the course. Now kids are breaking into their super military machines

Jeremie in a nutshell, for better or worse.Jeremie this is your fault you idiot
Oh god, yes please! The evil king bit has long worn out its welcome.
In charge of the fireworks, it would seem.Himno didn't run a stand. Or was she in charge of the fireworks?
Presumably it was something he wrote based off of what his parents told him?Now I'm confused though, did the war 2000 years ago actually happened? Did Jeremie wrote the legend from his imagination or did he based the story on actual events?
He was probably having his kurokos pickpocket everyone while they were distracted with the dancing. But that is still more honest than usual for him.

It doesn't help that the person presenting the counter point is a cartoon villain literally trying to destroy the world. What if this episode had the same plot, but it's just Jeremie and Dezzy talking it out. No destroy the planet plot. This will put Jeremie in doubt and set him up for betraying the other rulers later on, in a more serious episode

It's super funny since his song is all about telling lies
