Generally one announces a pregnancy after the first trimester, since a lot can (and does) go wrong in the first three months. There are definitely a lot of "dekichatta" (lit. "I did it", meaning got pregnant) weddings these days in Japan though.

When Ayame Misaki had her short-lived marriage a few years back, she actually made a point of denying she was pregnant at the time.

But yeah, Kazusa seems like she got married and then had a baby right away. Shida Yuumi (Mai in Gaim) had a similar thing last year, announcing her marriage and pregnancy at the same time. Not saying either of them got married BECAUSE they were pregnant, but the time does line up.

For a country with such a low birth rate overall, that is a surprising thing to hear. But good on them for making the best of it.
