Starting off on a cool stairs
Now this is Rider
The crab on the wheels is a pretty neat design if nothing else
Kajiki, if you didn't stalk her you wouldn't have thought she had a boyfriend! Oh, that cleared that up real quick
Bro, let's continue this reunion in this creepy underground pipe factory
Does Kajiki have super hearing? Also, was already annoyed by this dumb jealous boyfriend subplot. But I thought Rinne was going to clear that misunderstanding up and she didn't
He went to see her just to kill her? Kind of a crazy development
I wouldn't have minded if Gotchard looked a bit more like a firefighter in this mode, but at least he has siren shoulders
Poor Hijiri and Kajiki, theyreally haven't had that much to do so far in the episdoe, despite being so well together
Oh, spoke too soon, this is a pretty good twist
Thank goodness for CGI shields
Oh good, with this yellow armor he must have higher thunder resistance
"Hmmm, the audience thinks Houtarou is kinda dumb. Let me write some lines to talk up his powers of sympathy instead of showing it through storytelling"
Man is that gold armor bulky lol
That memory erasure spell is pretty evil, their teacher is definitely going to be a b ad guy later. Also, they're just going to walk away and not even ask why they were holding hands?
Oh, our first number 10. Also, two random pieces of junk that she's picking up?
Wow, surprised they managed to pull a happy ending after all. The whole thing is very Your Name, but that was a good movie. Might as well steal from the best, right?
Hope to see Kinoshita Ayane in more toku in the future!
Edit: When Hijiri gets possessed (or she possesses the Chemy Card? Who's corrupting who again?) we see some ribbons open up and then swallow the card like a venus fly trap closing up. Has that always been the case? Just interesting to think of people being so angry, mad, or evil that they turn into a mass of malice before opening up their chest to swallow the card

Re: KR Gotchard 10 thread
Gold Dash's combo model: messy-but-useful CGI tool or Rider suit? Why not both? In any case, I'm surprised they managed two new suits in one episode; it helps give the impression that they're pushing these out the door as fast as they can because they want to do something different. While I'm on the topic of Gold Dash, I think he unexpectedly saved Ichinose three times in this two-parter.
I'm also glad the episode wasn't trying to hide that the two guest characters are siblings. I wasn't sure last episode if it was really bad at keeping secrets or not treating it as one, so I'm glad it was the latter. The cinematography stands out again in certain moments; even when it isn't necessarily gorgeously shot, it's certainly deliberately shot. The twist was also very well implemented; while the brutality last episode was in Klotho's violent jailbreak, here it's in our getting to know the character for a full episode and a half, emphasizing the tragedy that monsters aren't just made up of the most unlikable and self-centered people.
I thought the ending was pretty close to perfection. The final meeting between the Hijiri siblings was very well done, with the brother neither having an unrealistic total emotional turnaround nor a grimdark/cynical didn't-learn-anything worldview. Ichinose's idealism reaching both Chemy and humans, between his belief in the MotW's capacity for redemption and concern for his friend's memory and happiness, is bound to become a stronger element as the series progresses. Finally, Hijiri and Kajiki's closure has the balance of tragedy and hope that Kamen Rider's known for, and even cliches like their final Chemy encounter somehow felt genuine rather than forced.
On a side note, we got to see Rinne in the haunted house again, so that's another plus.

I wish the brother were better done though. Maybe Hijiri saw her brother through rose colored eyes, but how did that turn into him resenting her enough to want to kill her? And Houtarou is always saying he's going to save the card from the human, but in Hijiri's case, it's pretty clear the cards are amplifying/corrupting the negative aspects of their human hosts, since we meet her character and see her prior to her being possessed. (We also had that with the dad who was a control freak with his son). At some point, it'd be interesting to explore whether Houtarou is on humanity's side or the Chemy's

Re: KR Gotchard 10 thread
The first 5 stars I gave, and it's a story about a side supporting character. The twist caught me by surprise.
The brother was just a plot device for the twist. It's a simple love story. Kajiki braving up to save the girl, and it's a bitter sweet ending. When they passed each other at the end, I was cheering for them to redo their meeting, which they did. It's cliche but felt good.
The teacher seemed to know so much about this new kamen rider kid who just turned up in his door step one day. I can't tell whether because Houtarou's his student and he's just observant, or he's researching Houtarou behind their backs.
They really leaned into the Japanese mystery/horror story elements here, with Hijiri crying black tears, her blank stare, large paragraphs of white texts on black background, unreadable overlapping texts...
That UFO card has a ghostly logo, another new Chemy category?

Re: KR Gotchard 10 thread
I enjoyed this one in a camp sort of way. However, I think that this show would have been much better if Rinne was the newb who becomes a Kamen Rider and Houtarou was the someone cool honor student/alchemist. Tokusatsu can use shoujo manga plot lines as DonBrothers proved, but DonBrothers had OniSister as the principle point of view. Houtarou's actor is not particularly cute with over reacting to everything.
It was an interesting twist that the evil sister used Kajiki's desire to see a UFO as a way to make their next MOTV(?).
I wonder if repeated Men in Black style memory wiping can cause serious mental problems to the victim?

Re: KR Gotchard 10 thread
I had a question after watching the episode– did they really need to wipe Kajiki and Hijiri's memories of meeting each other the first time? Don't think them getting to know each other actually had much to do with the Rider gang's shenanigans

Re: KR Gotchard 10 thread
Finally finding time to watch this episode (been busy all week between being stuck alone at work because my boss had to get surgery and just watching the Desert Bus for Hope stream 24/7)
I'm once again vindicated in my theory that some of these forms are just slapped together for the moment, because HiikesRose a) didn't get a special henshin animation, and b) I think those shoulders are the shoulders from BurningGorilla but reworked into sirens, and the arms are the fan arms they used for VenomMariner, but covered in thorned hoses, so they clearly aren't planning to use these lesser forms more than once or twice (they also barely use the "real" forms much, but we'll see if that changes as the pace evens out a bit maybe?).
My guess: they don't ultimately care about whether or not their malgams succeed. success would be a bonus, but they just care about finding people with strong malice so they can make powerful malgams and have strong components to use for their REAL work, which'll probably be relevant going into whatever counts as Act 2, I suppose.
while they don't include the "hint mark" in the bottom right corner of the cards in-show, possibly as a minor justification for not immediately figuring out which Chemy pair together as a best match (though you could still just match up the backs of the cards >.>) the irl cards DO include the category marker for what they pair up with. this new symbol for UFO X has actually been seen on a couple of cards irl already, like Valvarad's Gekiocopter.
among the hint marks on cards we've seen 2 categories we haven't gotten cards for yet. one is that ghostly logo, the other looks like a dinosaur head. interesting note: we've ONLY seen those two unreleased categories on cards, meaning even with those logos as hints for the kind of chemy we can expect in those categories, we still have ZERO hints what the last two categories are just yet (people who've hacked the sounds out of the Gotchardriver, you hush >.>)
all that said, I AM surprised that we've gotten cards in-show from 6 categories so far, and yet the first level 10 isn't from any of them, but from a new category that isn't even out irl yet (Phase:02 releases this weekend, and it's still just within the first 6 categories). Now that we ARE seeing level 10s, though, I'm looking forward to maybe finding out how/if Gotchard is supposed to use those.

it might not've been super obvious during the initial henshin animation, but Houtarou's base body beneath the armor actually gets bulkier before the armor forms. the Souchaku Henshin toys they're putting out for Gotchard revealed what's in set 02 recently, and it includes a new bulkier base body along with the GoldMechanika armor and the armor for the new form from the end of episode preview. the phone app I made a thread about that shows the "real" forms for all the combos also has the Spicle + Ganvhale combo be this bulky, so we'll probably see more forms this thicc in the future.
I could be remembering wrong, but I've always remembered that happening, yeah. I think the implication is that it's the straps that look like what the main Malgam body is made of, for the mummy-like effect. and if I had to guess, those seemingly random scrap strips Klotho was picking up are actually strips from the Malgams' bodies with traces of the chemy power they used, since they look like the strips the other two sisters were using last episode to add to all the chemicals for their mystery alchemy experiment.Edit: When Hijiri gets possessed (or she possesses the Chemy Card? Speaking of which, any guesses as to what two words are used in Ganvhale?

Yeah I don't think they do either, it's just for whatever they're farming with the flask. Guess they don't have the budget to animate that happening each time
I'm guessing level 10's are just going to be the next tier of forms for quarter 2+
