Wiki
NinjaBlack looks like Ninja Gaiden
Oh hey, Kinoshita Ayane is in this too. That girl's getting around
That mover with dreads sure looks like Takaiwa Seiji
Why are these movers covered in snakes?
Is this Tsumuri? When did she get so good at acting? Hmm, is Toei's new thing just bringing back their past actresses as guests in their new projects? I'm all for it
Man this story about Gorou's backstory sure seems convoluted lol
I'd hate to be in that group and not be Jiraiya. "Man this guy is in good shape..."
Wait, what is Kinoshita's role here? Doesn't seem like she's a yokai
Gorou is really distracting, it looks like he's about to bust out of his skin or rapidly scratch a bad rash
Everyone's masked up. Very smart in the covid age
I checked, you can't see Kinoshita in the previous scenes. It would have been a fun easter egg though
Heh, it's ahrd to be a middle aged hero
NinjaYellow is suddenly a lot better at fighting suited up. What's he shuffling, cards like Gambit?
Blue's attack is drawing a square?
is that the original actor for the bone guy?
Good music
lol, what is this cameo with Shurikenninger and Hurri yellow and blue? So random

Re: Kakuranger Third Act: Middle-Aged Struggle Arc
My childhood sentai were Fiveman to OhRanger. Among them, Kakuranger's story stuck with me the most, and it still gives me goosebumps every time I hear the opening theme.
Lol Takaiwa Seiji cameo. He was NinjaRed's suit actor. They got him a cameo for Faiz too. I hope he'll keep getting cameos in these anniversary movies since he basically the embodiment of that whole era.
The other snake yokai that's with Takaiwa is Takaiwa's wife in real life, Murakami (Takaiwa) Rie. She was NinjaWhite's suit actor in the original run.
They made multiple remarks about Jiraiya being still in shape and in perfect condition. These weren't just cheeky dialog. Last year Jiraiya's actor cleared the First Stage of the Sasuke Ninja Warrior Challenge. He's the oldest competitor to ever clear the First Stage at age 48. It's probably also why he had the most out-of-suit stunts among the others.

Saburou and Shirou were the brothers of the twins who died in the original show? So... they're quadruplets? Yeah the writers needed a reason to bring the actors' back, but it felt like theses brothers were cloning themselves now...
Yoshiteru looked so much older, while Junior looked kinda the same as 30 years ago. That guiter prop could be better though...
Yao Kazuki came back to voice Ninjaman. He sounded much older.
Sadly the original narrator storyteller, Sanyutei Enjou, passed away in 2021. They casted Kanda Hakuzan, who works as a professional storyteller, as the replacement.
The masks were for easier stunt actor replacement, but I prefer the original cloth ones that were part of their ninja outfits.
Lol they remembered those onomatopoeic comic book texts.

That theme song is one of my favoritres, and I haven't even seen the show. (I might have caught a little bit of the last episode on cable TV in Japan of all places when I was visiting once)
>They made multiple remarks about Jiraiya being still in shape and in perfect condition.
I believe it, t hat guy looks amazing for his age. What's his secret? (Besides exercise)
>Saburou and Shirou were the brothers of the twins who died in the original show? So... they're quadruplets? Yeah the writers needed a reason to bring the actors' back, but it felt like theses brothers were cloning themselves now...
They're secret ninja androids. Don't forget that their names are basically all numbers so Gorou would be the fifth son. Tarou is like the super generic name for sons in Japan, with Jirou, Saburou, and Shirou being essentially meaning second son, third son, and fourth son
>Yoshiteru looked so much older, while Junior looked kinda the same as 30 years ago. That guiter prop could be better though...
I've definitely seen this guy in something else, so it's weird to see him be a monster guy here lol

I like that Japan has a job that's just professional story telling

She's a callback to the original Flower Ninja troupe in the series which were composed of 5 members and helped the various yokai in the series.takenoko wrote: Sun Aug 04, 2024 3:03 amWait, what is Kinoshita's role here? Doesn't seem like she's a yokai
It definitely has the energy of the original series. Also changing the OP and ED song would be a crime.
Tsumuri being a villain and seem to have fun with it.

Re: Kakuranger Third Act: Middle-Aged Struggle Arc
I only watched Kakuranger recently so it was all fresh going into this.
Still has the charm of the original show, though the newer Yokai could have been utilised better and they died way too quick, shame we never got any returning Mecha
was cool seeing Gashadokuro come back, would have liked a cool fight scene with him though. wish had been a bit longer so his moment at the end with his son woulda meant more and even then the story in general could have just used a little more build up.
The Kakuranger's are still awesome even in middle age lol
Give us more Toei, how about a mini series
