Fuuga is... treating Spanner? Geryon knows where Fuuga is? Feels like that should be a plot point instead of somethign to handwave
lol. I thought Atropos was just going to absorb Rinne, not hang off her like a ghoulish blood bag
Fuuga doesn't seem too surprised that Geryon made Atropos based on Rinne. Why didn't he mention this to Rinne (or tell her anything at all?) Guess the plot needed it to happen now
Hopefully we'll get an explanation for that flashback of Fuuga and Geryon together with Rinne
Oh, Klotho is still on the ground
Are they in a parking lot? What kind of hideout is this? Also Klotho gets aawy pretty easily lol
hahaha wtf. The two old guys fell for the old trap spell on the ground
Gaelijah doing a Saw instead of just wiping out her opponents will surely be what gets her killed in this epsiode
lol Geryon's face twitch. He bases Atropos on Rinne, but she comes out already in the Atropos costume. Was that part of the spell too??
Gotchard's explanation for entering mirror world is... like everything else in this episode... just a bit too contrived
I like this field though
So Geryon and Atropos really do care about each other??
Oh, he just wants to use Atropos to turn the world gold. Well, good job at tricking me, story.
Is it me or is Gotchard using more break dancing moves than usual? Also why is this fool using base form against a final boss? I guess the story requires it
Oh hey, Rinne and Atropos's ?friendship pays off
It's kind of fun how her new form has parts from Kamen Rider Wind's design. I think this new form is detailed without being overly busy. There's a nice gradient of colors without it being overly gaudy like Rainbow Gotchard. I think the clear part of her chest piece is also cool
It would have b een fun if we had seen Gaelijah's predictive powers before
Oh hi Gigist, for some reason you haven't died yet
Kind of a weird episode for me. I like Rinne's new form. I'm sad to see Atropos go since it doesn't feel like her arc was complete (or if it was, it was super rushed in this episode). I wouldn't have minded dropping one of the filler episodes and having this be a two parter. Playing all the previous conversations with Rinne and Atropos and then going "And that's why Atropos decided to sacrifice herself for Rinne" doesn't feel like that works, y'know?
oh, Spanner is still in this serise for some reason. I mean, we have 2-3 episodes left. Maybe we should get back to the main story or something?

Atropos became Rinne’s Leonard Snart.

Re: KR Gotchard 48 thread
I wonder if they always planned for Atropos to be Rinne. If so, we might see her actress return as a young RInne. But the thing is, the child Rinne actress is only a year younger than Atropos's actress. So it's not like they were portraying Rinne at very different stages of her childhood
Edit: I really feel like the weakness of the writing is never more apparent than the multiple times they have Rinne ask if Atropos is alright and someone chimes in "Hey, you're the one who's going to die. Why are you worried about Atropos?!"
Them cutting to Klotho and just having her realize that there's no more reason for her to continue was pretty good and well delivered gut punch from Klotho's actress

Re: KR Gotchard 48 thread
Pretty strong in general, though it does have one of my least favourite villain tropes--giving the illusion of some humanity or redeeming point only to reveal that the villain's just evil after all. I'm alright if you jump into allegory a la '70s villains like Ambassador Hell or Satan Demon, but Geryon's theoretically just a guy with a gold obsession. It's kind of the same problem Ghost and later Donbrothers had: if you have intriguing initial main villains, then whenever they either turn good or die off (or both) it leaves kind of throwaway villains for the endgame.
But enough complaining; we got a new final form! Interesting that they mirrored Houtaro's final form debut in terms of grief being the inciting element, which I'm chalking up to an intentional choice rather than a lazy one. I also like that our remaining villains have opposing objectives (actually, I thought Gigist's goal was to be more powerful than the other two, who are both dead? What's he after now?). Geryon stealing Gigist's line was fun; hopefully we'll see them fighting each other as much as they do the heroes.
Houtaro: Rinne, turn around! Cool guys don't look at explosions!
Majade: I am no guy!

Spoiler
When Gaelijah is defeated by Twilight Majade, Glion and Gigist each receive a portion of the remaining Philosopher's Stone fragments originally belongs to her, and after Glion explained his ideals, the two teleported away from the battlefield.

Hey, kids! be sure to tell your parents to keep an eye on the PBandai website for when we open orders for the new Driver Unit and redesigned cards for Majade's final form that we're introducing in the third to last episode of the season!
I like elements of Twilight Majade's design, like changing out the "hair" style to be more like Atropos' haircut, but it IS a bummer to just get SunUnicon but moreso. if they'd topped Gotchard off at Platinum, instead of Rainbow being a thing, it'd be a fitting style, where everyone's final forms is them taking their base cards and making them evolve in some way, like Hopper1 and Steamliner becoming CrossHopper and TenLiner, or either of the movie only spoiler forms Gotchard and Daybreak Gotchard have in the trailers.
like, they don't even rename the cards. it's still TheSun and Unicon, just with a new coat of paint.
also, even if we ignore the fact that two of Majade's three total forms in this entire show are the same two cards, she's only got THREE forms. even if she doesn't use the two her dad uses, or the two from the HBV, that's still 12 total Cosmic and Fantasy chemys that just never got used and could've been. it's even more annoying when you remember that Majade is officially supposed to be the Secondary Rider and Valvarad the Tertiary. one could argue about whether or not OrochiShovel and AngeCopter count as forms, since they're just extra parts slapped onto the base Valvarad suit, but form or not, that's still two different things Valvarad has in addition to his base form, not even counting pre-rider Valvarad and equipments, which ties Majade's forms in total.
it's nice that the show's finally started getting interesting again. just wish it'd happened with more of the show to go, rather than all at the very end.

talking about the next episode preview
and even after that, he's STILL getting another new form next week, since it looks like Spanner is getting a surprise PBandai driver unit, too. we taking bets on whether or not he alters Madwheel again or changes DaiOhni in some way? just to rub in how he gets more than Rinne.

Yeah, that is kind of a bummer when you look at it that way. With the card collecting aspect over, maybe they could have planned ahead for this by having certain cards associated with Atropos the way Kamantis is with Klotho. Then those cards could be added into the mix ?somehow
I didn't notice that the design incorporates Atropos into it. Good catch

No, just Dread that one time. Guess they didn't want to animate the size change in transformation or find a short stunt actor for the monster

Re: KR Gotchard 48 thread
So Khlotos kinda upped and ran away to find Larchesis because.... why? Hey, your other sister Atropos is hung up by Gaelijah and about to be turned into a Chimera. Maybe save her first? Funny how she ran after Larchesis, only to then turn back to get to Atropos... and collapsed when she realised she's too late. Weird writing there that totally got me out from the episode.
That being said, a pretty decent episode for Rinne. Is it just me or the actress' acting got a bit better towards the end? She's less wooden and her grief over Atropos is believable. I wish we've gotten more between Rinne & Atropos to really sell the story for their friendship(?) but this is probably the best we can get out from Gotchard's inconsistent writing.

Spoiler
Looks like Gigist will bite the bullet next episode, and Geryon's going to get all other pieces of Philosopher's stone save for Houtaro's to be a final boss.
Complete. Start Up. 3. 2. 1. Time Out. Reformation.

I think it was a smart move, she was clearly not going to beat Gaelijah. Better to get help

Re: KR Gotchard 48 thread
This episode checked all the right boxes. The stakes were so much higher this week. It's impressive the production team were able to fit so much content in 20 minutes.
Fuuga really liked that abandoned house. He keeps going back there. It's really not a good hiding place when everyone knew you were hiding there.
Fuuga had no any real way to escape Gaelijah's trap or save Rinne from turning into Chimera. Both Fuuga and Rinne would have died if not for plot armor.
Geryon's deceit and betrayal with his convincing lies. He basically carried the show. We also got a little exposition dump about Fuuga and Geryon's rivalries. Other than Geryon saying he loved Atropos as a daughter, I think everything else he said was true.
Oh, they found a use for that useless gun form. Houtarou had some cheeky moments but basically took a back seat, which is fine.
Atropos' heel–face turn and sacrifice was alright, because it was built up over the course of the series. I like how the final form turns out and the choreography was good. Having two consciousness controlling a body was not a new concept, but it's a logical solution to Gaelijah's premonitions.
How many different versions of the same cards are they going to produce??? Dread, Daybreak, Rainbow, and now Twilight. Is Spanner going to have yet another different set of version next week? Gotta get those merch money, right?
Gaelijah gave up her humanity? The Hades Kings were once humans?
So it seems Gigist will bite the dust by Spanner's hands next week, since they were the only ones who actually had some interactions with each other.
I totally forgot about the Philosopher's Stone. It's currently split between the Hades Kings, Geryon and Nijigon. Once the Hades King and Geryon were defeated, Hotarou will have 100% of the stone, and it'll be the deus ex machina to the Chemy problem.

The setting that there was a strong connection between the birth of Rinne and Atropos was solidified from an early stage.
(Ideas were put forth that Rinne was a doll or that she was already dead...)
From there, the three screenwriters and directors, and above all, the two actors, Matsumoto Reiyo and Okita Itono, spun a deep bond between the two for a year.
Geryon acted like he was informing Fuuga of the danger of their daughters were in, and was asking for his cooperation. But there was another plan behind it. Now that you knew the ending, if you rewatch this desperate persuasion scene again, pay attention to Geryon's expression. There will be a brief moment when you can really feel his acting, and it will give you goosebumps!
One thing we definitely wanted to do was a dialogue between Fuuga and Geryon. If we were going to do it, it had to be here. We used the form of a Russian roulette as a tense battle that takes place while the conversation unfolds. We also had a gun supervisor on set, and the production turned out to be very realistic!
(Note: I'm surprised to learn this room is a built set and not a real house)
Were you surprised by Houtarou's solution?
"Only things related to game can enter Gaelijah's space? Oh, so I can become a gun!"
The fact that he didn't choose between a logical solution A nor B, but created a solution C was what Fuuga acknowledges as Houtarou's strengths.
On a side note, it was quite difficult for the scriptwriter team to come up with Houtarou's solution C. It's quite difficult to think of ideas while putting yourself in Houtarou's head while keeping in mind the fact that he is fighting alongside Chemys. The BulletChoucho Plan was a nice idea thought up by the TV Asahi producer!
Geryon wasn't trying to save Atropos, but rather aimed to shift control of the Chimera to himself and use that power to create the Golden Land. He also wanted to show Fuuga Rinne's death so he could see Fuuga's despair.
Then a three-way battle begans. What Glion was clever about was that, if Gaelijah tried to kill Rinne to stop the birth of the Chimera, Houtaro or Fuuga would step in to stop her. So if Gaelijah failed to kill Rinne, he would get the chimera; But even if Gaelijah was successful, he would still get to see Fuuga's despair over Rinne's death. He created a structure that allowed him to get at least one of the things he wanted.
Gaelijah's Philosopher's Stone went to Geryon... Or so we thought. Half of it was also split to Gigist, the other Dark King who we must not forget. Gigist had been watching the developments from the sidelines for a long time, but if he doesn't act soon, the series will be over! (?)
With this shoot, we celebrated the 10 years old birthday of Okita Genno, who plays Atropos!
It was such an honor to be able to celebrate her memorable day of turning double digits!!

Re: KR Gotchard 48 thread
>Gaelijah gave up her humanity? The Hades Kings were once humans?
Based on the names, there's an implication these guys were the founding alchemists. The first guy who died even said as much. Gaelijah is based on the alchemist that was also a fortune teller
>(Ideas were put forth that Rinne was a doll or that she was already dead...)
hmmmmmmmmm. I wonder when they decided against that

Re: KR Gotchard 48 thread
So, if I remember correctly about the Philosopher's Stone, Geryon and Gigist should have 49% and 50% respectively of the stone's power. Based on Gigist's motivations earlier in the series, shouldn't that objectively make one of them more powerful than the other? Yet the episode somehow doesn't end with them trying to kill each other to hit 99%
