Between this and the start of the Legend arc, it really feels like the writers intended at one point for there to be a strong connection between Hou and Klotho like the other sisters had with Spanner and Kudou. Shame that they absolutely dropped the damn ball on that front.
Also, minor grammar error at 1:48.
"This loser doesn't have the balls to do pull a stunt like that!"

Re: We are Class 3G (Gotcha) 02
I finally got caught up on both of these. They're pretty ridiculous, but harmless enough.
I have to say I find this version of Houtarou to be downright insufferable. The normal version at least has his righteousness to lean on, but this one is just really pathetic.
On the other hand, it's nice that the other actors get to showcase some range. It's wacky range, but it's more than what a lot of them get to do in the show proper.
Is it weird that Kajuki's actor actually looks the part? He normally plays a high schooler and looks a bit old for the part. But throw a thin goatee and some gray hair on him, and he looks convincingly old. Klothos actress, on the other hand, isn't going to pass for a high-schooler any more than Minato's actor would.
The random episode clips within these specials is kind of weird. It's not like they're looking to fill a fixed runtime, so I don't really see the point of adding what's essentially padding.
Also, what was the "In the name of Geryon-sama..." line a reference to? That one went over my head.
And To be continued - question mark?! I realize this was just a fun little side project, but uh, am I asking too much to expect a conclusion?

The same thought crossed my mind, as well. Houtarou and Klotho get as much meaningful interaction here as they have in the last 20 episodes of the series. It's all still heavily exaggerated and has no relevance on the series proper. But in a sense it's still the kind of missing character moments that those two have needed throughout the back-half of the series.Zerato wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 10:54 pm Between this and the start of the Legend arc, it really feels like the writers intended at one point for there to be a strong connection between Hou and Klotho like the other sisters had with Spanner and Kudou. Two direct references I noticed this time:
1)
Atropos's "In the name of Geryon-sama..." was a direct quote of Kindaichi Hajime's "In the name of my grandfather, Kosuke Kindaichi..."
2)
Minato's line was actually a direct quote of F1 driver Ayrton Senna. (The digital sound when he adjusted his glasses afterwards was probably also a reference to something I don't recognize)
In Japanese the line was written as
人生において、悪魔というのは最高の時にそれを奪いにやって来るものだ。(Source: https://number.bunshun.jp/articles/-/7984)
The translation back to English was:
"It's said that the Devil will come to knock you down when you're at your highest."
The original quote was
"The same moment that you are seen as the best, the fastest and somebody that cannot be touched, you are enormously fragile." (Source: https://www.azquotes.com/quote/266137)

agreed, there's nowhere in the multiverse where Houtarou is a good character
>Also, what was the "In the name of Geryon-sama..." line a reference to? That one went over my head.
Like Yaiba said this is a reference to the detective series Kindaichi. He's the grandson of a famous detective, so whenever he's on the case he always loudly declares "In the name of my grandpa..."
>And To be continued - question mark?! I realize this was just a fun little side project, but uh, am I asking too much to expect a conclusion?
It feels like they want to do another one of these, but if this is just a two parter I wouldn't be a surprise. I don't think the past blu-ray sets have had a bonus that spanned all three
