Ratings for last week's episode: 4.67 out of 5 (9 votes)
What is Boon singing?
Should I be worried that Naitou is the only reoccurring thread and we're getting exposition about him from ByunDi?
blue's suit is nice today
Suddenly we're in a fight. Oh it's all a dream lol
Mad Rex keeps coming back. I guess that's the Three Seaters origin that we're gonna get. lol they are pretty cute runing around yelling paralila though
Is this a recap episode?
"Look at this toy!"
Oh, she added more components to it between scenes lol
I feel bad that everyone has a big job, and we get to Mira and she's just working at a convenience store. She's working at Hawson, a parody of Japan's Lawson stores
There's no way Genba buys those lollipops one at a time
What a futuristic toilet. Cool tp mantle. Is Japan's toilet paper roll so clean and white? Ours is brown
It must be a little frustarting to be Black's surpvisor
Haha, Blue still has some trauma from the first time
Blue got hit again. Oh, is this the first time we get a kaijin reuse that's weaker than the original?
Have to say that the cgi feels good for the big formation. It doesn't look obviously cheap
What? Shirabe, how can you not notice Naitou?
Oh, Genba??
What's going on with this ending?
Huh, well that certainly intrigues me for next week's episode. Good job!

Technicallllllly they're originally American. Lawson was a big chain in Ohio and Pennsylvania in the 60s-80s until they changed their name.
I love it when they put the toys into the actual show. I know it's a cheap gag but it gets me every time.
芯, which was translated as "core" here, can be core/heart/center in more of a metaphysical way, but it also means pencil lead/toilet paper tube/staple/wick/marrow, basically anything that is always inside something else. It's a fascinatingly versatile word.

Boondario was singing the ED song.
Shirabe playing with the DX Boonboomger Robo was adorable.
They used the MOTW's (old) ability to hint who were hiding secrets, that's clever. And it's Taiya and Genba.
Genba was the one who didn't really get any character development episodes. Looks like he's going to get a whole arc of it now.
The ISA Chief and Taiya's mentor got added to the TV-Asahi's character page. So they are going to be major players. It's going to be interesting with their conspiracy vibe.

I never realized the first Gurumaa Max Rex create was a toilet. The production staff really loved the toilet joke. They kept coming up with these randomly unconventional but fitting attacks for it. Of course a toilet roll will crumble to a pile without its tube.
Mira's imagination of Taiya's rampage was quite something, lol.
Using Full Throttle Edition on a toilet was so overkill.

Shasiro was waiting in the parking lot.
"Where's are we delivering to?"
"The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research. Apparently the contents are top secret."
"...He trusts you," Shasiro said, exchanging a bit of bromance...
Meanwhile, The Three Seaters' captain, Cannonborg, was defeated and they were now unemployed.
No way, they were sleeping on a normal futon!? Worn-out tatami mats and thin-hard beddings... are you guys really the villains of the Reiwa era?
The dog Jou was interviewing was Matthew-kun, the pet of assistant producer Miyake. Someone asked during a meeting, "Hey, doesn't Miyake's family have a dog?" And that's how we decided to cast him.
By the way, the dog owner was played by Miyake's mother. Director Nakazawa gave his stamp of approval, saying, "The acting was natural." Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule!
"Isn't that just a giant robot?"
In response to that, Shirabe pulled out the DX Boonboomger Robo from somewhere (it exists in this world!?) and showed off a mysterious Shirabe custom that didn't even appear in the story. Ah, the love for Boondario is overflowing and just can't be contained.

The real reason Mira's named "Shift" is because she has so many jobs, clearly.
Mostly a clip show filler episode, although setting up Genba's backstory, so that's nice.

Re: Boonboomger 26 discussion thread
When Shirabe was mentioning about Genba's past being mysterious should had brought up red flags that Genba's past will be revealed very soon.
Re: Boonboomger 26 discussion thread
While I was expecting something very light to air opposite the Gotchard finale, I'm actually a bit impressed that this episode wasn't entirely discardable. All the more so since it did incorporate clips. It is just barely a clip show in that regard; they really only made minimal use of them. Not that it was by any means meaty, but it was pretty good filler.
I'm dying to know what's in the box, though. At first I thought it was entirely inconsequential - just a random job to get the plot moving - but given that our new commander has just stolen it, it must hold much greater significance.
And something about Yalcar being launched in the air after waking up from a bad dream just cracked me up. The violent reaction was entirely unexpected, and I love that they're just shooting(?) the physical prop up, rather than bothering with CGI.
As an aside, does anyone have any idea where they shot that Planet Hashiriyan scene at? It's not an extravogent set by any means, but it's just decorated enough that it clearly wasn't something just thrown together for a 30 second scene. Which has me thinking it may be shot on someone else's set?

It's like 5 year olds on a sugar rush!
You just know she's in line at midnight releases to get the latest Boomcars.Oh, she added more components to it between scenes lol
I didn't get a chance to comment on last week's episode, but I largely agree. There is a moment near the end where the shadows are clearly wrong (purple's feet should be casting a bigger shadow). But it's otherwise above-average.Have to say that the cgi feels good for the big formation. It doesn't look obviously cheap
Right? It's using a commander-level finisher on a toilet. It's absolutely over the top.

Now I'm left wondering, did Shirabe make that Boonboom figure herself, or did Taiya make them available for purchase in stores? Idk which would be funnier.

Doesn't Toei have a mad scientist lab set? I feel like all these broken wires and tubes are from something...?

Honestly it kinda reminds me of some of the Giga sets...takenoko wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:22 am >As an aside, does anyone have any idea where they shot that Planet Hashiriyan scene at?
