Blue and whtie mininons are Shita and Jeebh's, we know that. Yellow and purple, Nyelv and Glotta? Red is Lango's I'm guessing? No CakeKing form in the opening. Third week they have Aishite credited in the opening, really making hay out of Stinger's character

Ah, so Nyelv has his minions on spy duty. See, knowing the color thing is helping out alraedy. Speaking of Nyelv here he is doing mad scientist stuff and hanging out with Suga. This is great!

When was the last time we heard Shouma's catchphrase. Oh, all you have to do is lie to Shouma lol. I wish we hadn't known that Kani was faking this. It would have been a nice tension wondering if Kani was seriously or not

I didn't realize jellyfish guy had pink underwear. So is his human form KirameiSilver?

I really hate that Dente's mouth is animated like that

Kani had the advantage and totally wastes it. If he just went in with the four agents, he totally could have taken Gavv. Speaking of which, I thought Jeebh would show up since even Gavv is like "hey why are his agents here"

I'm not totally sure what kind of peril Valen is supposed to be here in the cliffhanger. It just looks like Gavv is going to kick their asses and save him at the beginning of the next episode. It's not like he's getting put in a car that's driving away or something

Edit: There's a good zoom in at the thing Raage9 uses to transform into a human. It sure does look a lot like a coffin stitched together for a human press. I wouldn't be surprised if the tech for human press and Granuto masquerading as humans developed off the same tech tree

Episode was decent, but needed more explanation of Suga's and Nyelv's relationship. How long have they been in an alliance and how far could they take it before tragedy?

The whole Kani wanting to be good seemed cheap as Shouma is too trusting and the Stomach Company has too much power to let anyone go without being on the brink of death. All the talk of how good Dark Candy is sounds like it creates an addiction for it that cannot be easily avoided. I would want to see the side effects of a Granuto not having Dark Candy for some time and doing something strange to show the pros and cons of such work.

The careless mentioning of how weak Shita and Jeebh were was a surprise. Lango saw how strong Shouma was not long ago and I thought he might've reconsidered the threat level. As Shouma acquires more powers, someone should've realized that the twins would be outmatched at some point. At least Glotta seemed to care enough for her siblings to lend a hand, but she did nothing.

One highlight I enjoyed was the adding of powers to the Cake Patrol. It was nice to see the chip and chocolate powers used with the cake powers to show how powerful this transformation is and there are more powers to add. One addition I want to see the inclusion of ice cream with the cake because Americans love ice cream cake and the merging of those powers could be something special.

Not sure how much use Hanto will be in the future if his transformation is so easily broken. A lot of enemies like to play with their foes and it seems like there isn't as much power in the standard chocolate form. While next time there will be a chocolate cake powerup, there needs to be an upgrade for Valen or he'll fall hard. This is why I'm surprised he only uses normal chocolate for his powers. Japan must have some chocolate treats with nuts, peanut butter, caramel or crispy rice to make a better minion. It's still early in the series and there needs to be more powers to make the sidekick useful. Gavv seems to be a series that relies too much on cliffhangers instead of quick resolutions to show an increase in power as more monsters fall and I fear that there won't be enough time to see anyone but the main hero rise.

Kinda mixed on Stinger faking it; it's effectively and appropriately tragic in light of Shouma trying to convince Hanto that a good or remorseful Granuto can exist, though also lessens any chance of an actual redemption. The Stomach family's reaction to Shiita's death--more or less a collective shrug--was even more nonchalant than I'd expected, but with Shiita dead, Jiibh both evicted and emotionally frozen, and Nyelv hanging out with Suga, the list of Stomach family loyalists is getting a little thin. Maybe they're getting ready to introduce another villain? On a side note, the reveal that Nyelv and Suga were collaborating on Valen was a fun way to indicate that Nyelv's interest in science outweighs his sense of loyalty to the family.

It's a little worse, with the implications that Nyelv was keeping tabs on the twins and could have totally prevented Shouma from killing either of them, but totally let it happen on his watch. I'm not sure if Nyelv knows that Glotta knows that, but he basically admits as much when he's muttering to himself after visiting Suga

Wow, they just erased Shita right from the OP. Brutal.

So Raage9 just makes people happy artificially instead of having to appeal to them.

With Christmas just 10 days away, the mood on the streets were at their peak! The filming actually took place during the hot season, when Christmas was still in no sight... (laughs) It was still a long way off, but time sure flies.


The blue crab making his move

When talking about merch planning or PR, we often refer to the epsiode's number. So when we heard the numbers, we can usually recall that's "the episode in which the △△ form appeared" or "the episode where △△ was the main focus". But when it comes to episode 15, all our reaction were "Ah... it's the crab."

That's how much Kani was active, walking freely in all directions, or rather walking sideways a lot. And that's to be expected, right? The script for this episode was written by Mouri, who was the main writer for Kyuranger, in which Kishi-san also starred in.

Now then, the memorable phrase that Gavv asking before defeating a Granuto, "What will you do? Give up the Dark Candy or be defeated by me?" Up until now, no Granuto had ever chosen the former option, but if someone were to declare their intention to quit Dark Candy, what would Shouma do? This was something that had been discussed within the planning team from the beginning, and it was Kani who took on this important role.

In the end though, it was just a trap set by Kani...


The Black Messenger Descends

Shoji Kohei-kun, who had only been a voice actor up until now, also appeared in the flesh. He had grown even taller since he first appeared in Kiramager. Amazing!

Granuto Raage9 had been modified by Nyelv to give him the ability to mimic humans. He now also have the metal fittings on his waist. He acted humble in front of Rango and Nyelv,
but it seemed like he didn't like to be suddenly thrown into the human world. I wondered if he would prefer to be assigned to the HQ...? I imagined it's pretty tough over there too (lol)

Raage9's method for collecting Human Presses was to inject a poison with his tentacles that temporarily increased the targets' happiness, and when they go limp, he turned them into Human Presses. A closed location is required to kidnap a large number of people. Director Morota said, "It's good to have a place that isn't originally a happy place, so that it's easy to see that he has made them happy with his ability." So a tense courtroom was selected for the first hunting ground.

Lots of high-quality Human Presses with minimal effort!


Whipped Soldiers

Gavv's CakeKing form can create his own soldiers. By combining the power of other Gochizos, he can also create armed Whipped Soldiers!

The ones that appeared were Zaku Whipped Soldier topped with crunchy chips, and Choco Whipped Soldier topped with chocolate dan. Their simple bases really make their candy weapons stand out.

They fought with the same weapons as Gavv in each form, and they look very reliable! They're not too strong, but they do their best to be useful, and each episode is full of ideas to depict their brave actions. Please continue to support them and the Gochizos!

大分先だね～なんて言っていたのに月日が流れるのは早いものです。

青い蟹、躍動

周辺施策やPRの話をするときは放送話数で会話をすることが多いので、数字を聞くとたいていリンクしている「〇〇フォームが出た回」、「△△メイン回」という記憶が呼び起されるのですが、15話に関してはもう「あ…カニだ」。が共通認識。

そのくらい可児が縦横無尽、いや、横歩き多めに大活躍。
それもそのはず？今回の脚本は、岸さんが出演していた「キュウレンジャー」でメインライターを務められていた毛利さんが担当。

さてさて、グラニュートを倒す前にガヴが問いかける印象的なフレーズ
「どうする？二度と闇菓子にかかわらないか？それとも俺に倒されるか？」
今まで前者の選択肢を取るグラニュートはいませんでしたが、もしその場で闇菓子辞めます宣言をしたら、いったいショウマはどうするんだろう？

…これは企画チームの中でも序盤から話題に上がっていたことではありましたが、そんな大事な役割を担ってくれたのが可児さん。

結局、その宣言はガヴを陥れるための可児の演技だったわけで…(歌ったり芝居打ったり、ヒトプレス集め以外の才能が花開きすぎてるぞ可児さん！)

黒い使者、降臨

ここまで声だけの出演だった庄司くんも顔出しで登場です。
キラメイジャー出始めの頃からさらに身長が伸びていました。すごいな！

ニエルブによる改造手術で、人間に擬態する機能を付加されたグラニュート・ラーゲ9。
腰に例の金具もつきました。

ランゴやニエルブの前では謙虚な感じにしてたのに、
いきなり人間界に放り出されて面倒くさそう。
本社配属希望だったんですかね…あっちはあっちで結構しんどいと思いますが(笑)

そんなラーゲ９のヒトプレス採集方法は
彼が固有に持っている、一時的に対象の幸福度をあげる毒を触手で打ち込んで、フニャ〜っとなったところをまとめてヒトプレス化する、というもの。

まとまった人数を攫うのでクローズドな場所、そして諸田監督の「能力で幸せにしたことがわかりやすいように、元々は楽しい場所じゃないところがいいなぁ」という意見もあり、最初の狩場には緊張感の走る法廷がセレクトされました。
たくさんの高品質ヒトプレスを最小限の労力で！

自分の兵隊を生み出すことができるガヴのケーキングフォームですが、
他のゴチゾウのパワーを組み合わせることで武装したホイップ兵が出せるんです！

登場したのは
ザクザクチップスをトッピングしたザクホイップ兵と
チョコダンをトッピングしたチョコホイップ兵。
各フォームのガヴと同じ武器を携えて戦う彼らはなんだか頼もしい！
シンプルなベースだからこそ、お菓子の武装が映えますね。
強すぎず、でもお役に立とうと頑張る彼らの健気な活躍を、各話アイデアいっぱいに描いていただいています。

I like that he can use the other gochizo's to make new minions with their powers.

Stinger's still going, how long can Kyuuranger survive without him!

we know that there's a third chocolate Gochizo which grants Gavv a shield. If it ever makes its way into the show, I picture Valen being the one to use it most.
