Ratings for last week's episode: 4.44 out of 5 (9 votes)
Oh no, human sellouts in the soccer industry... lol, what a flimsy reason for haing a soccer episode
lol, they get in soccer outfits to immediately transform and have their suit actors wear it
Wow pink got bneched right quick
I only played soccer i PE, but man is this a small field
Hi Matsumoto Rica good of you to cameo lol
Oh hey, that commercial looks familiar. Ahahaha, that's pretty good
I feel like we don't have Jou, Genba, and Sakito talking much. But this is still kind of a silly situation. I feel especially bad for Genba, since he's either super cool and on top of things, or the most childish idiot of them all. There's no writing a middle ground with the guy
Taiya, stop being such a cheap ass and make sure your employees all have uniforms for the jobs they do for you
Suddenly we have unmasked warriors
This has the stink of them wanting to do another reference to the manga monster designer for this series
Why did it feel like they saved the shaolin soccer nonsense till the end
Why does Taiya look better in his soccer unifrom than his usual outfit?
Wow looks like next week will be an Itashaa episode? I'm way looking forward to that. This week wasn't bad, but man did I find the story tediously boring outside of the helmetless scene and Rica's cameo. Maybe I would have rated it higher if this were like the first episode after they introduced Violet or something

Re: Boonboomger 41 discussion thread
I see that King-ohgers' aids needing a side hustle running soccer associations. The president was played by Yoshimitsu Hiroto-san, who played Himeno's aide Sebastian. The deputy president was played by Fukuzawa Jyubun-san, who played Racles' aide Boshimaru.
Lamo that lady with the dog was Matsumoto Rika, Boondario's voice actor. Her character's name here was Satou Shiho. A reference to her Pokemon character Satoshi.
ByunDi's "It's a common occurrence in space" was just another form of the "There's a simple explanation" meme.
Apprently the tire shop Carport Maruzen was a show sponsor. The two brothers who pushed the tires out were the actual owners. The way they rolled the tires out was the way they did it in their own CMs.
----------
So this episode was just a massive mess of soccer references. I can only identify a few from the Captain Tsubasa's manga/anime:
- When Decotorade kicked off after Genba and Sakito returned, he said "The ball is my friend!" (ボールはマブダチ), which is a different way of saying Tsubasa's catchphrase and motto (ボールはともだち).
- Genba and Sakito dribble the ball while running on all fours. It could be a reference to Tachibana brothers' dribbling technique "Yamazaru Keep". Here's a clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jg_czflFq8
- The perfect passes between Genba and Sakito and the Twin Overhead Cam Drive, could be a reference to the Golden Combi of Tsubasa and Misaki and their Twin Overhead Shoot. Here's a clip of the overhead shoot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7g14wkpOO0
- Shoots that breaks the net while taking the goalkeeper with it is very common in in soccer manga/amines that have hissatsu-type shoots.
- I'm sure the back-passing-shoot that Boondario and ByunDi in the robo fight was a reference to something as well. But nothing comes to mind.
Other references posted by pixiv (https://dic.pixiv.net/a/預ける背中#h2_2):
- The logo of Pulse Ace, the team that Genba and Sakito used to belong to, was a reference to Shimizu S-Pulse, a Japanese professional football club located in the Shizuoka Prefecture.
- The soccer ball grumaa's commentary during the robot match in extra time, " This is a fight that we cannot afford to lose" (絶対に負けられない戦いがそこにはある) , was the catchphrase for TV Asahi 's live broadcast of Japan's soccer team matches.
- The poses Boondario and ByunDi striked were reference to the "Shaolin Soccer" movie.

Background
The director of this episode was Kato Hiroyuki-san, who was also in charged of Bakuage 23: Blazing Adversity Baseball. Episode 23 was a big homage to Shimamoto Kazuhiko-san's Gyakkyou Nine, but with this episode it's hard to tell where the homage begins and ends... It's chaos piled on top of chaos, and we were able to deliver a Boonboomger-like (?) soccer episode.
The idea for the soccer episode came about because one of the scriptwriters had been in charge of a very famous soccer series, and the Soma Satoru-san, who plays Genba, and Miyazawa Yuu-san, who plays Sakito, are good at soccer!
Shimizu S-Pulse
Genba and Sakito were especially angry because the Big Bang soccer team they once belonged to, Pulse Ace, was taken over by Spindo. Pulse Ace? If you turn it upside down, it became S-Pulse...
Shimizu S-Pulse kindly agreed to let us use the orange uniform, team logo, and the team name, which allowed us to pay homage in this way! Thank you so much!!
Gurumaa
The voice actor for Soccer Ball Gurumaa was Atsushi Imaruoka-san. He played a high-energy monster who fought while providing high-energy commentary. It was such an exhilarating performance that the staff were worried he might lose his voice! Thank you very much!
The Hashiriyan's goalkeper was Super Great Gym Gurumaa (SGGG). There was suggestions of changing "Gurumaa" to "Kurumaa" and naming it Super Great Gym Kurumaa (SGGK) as a reference to the title "Super Great Goalkeeper" from Captain Tsubasa. However, we thought it would be best to stick to Boonboomger's naming conventions, so we went with Gym Gurumaa.
Boonbario's voice actor, Matsumoto Rika
This time, as a super super backstage guest, we had Matsumoto Rika-san, the voice of Boonbario! Her character's name was Sato Shiho The kanji 捕 also means "catch"... It's not like she's called Satoshi or needed to Catch 'em all or anything like that.
Even though it was a lovely warm day, Rika-san needed to wear winter clothes. She didn't say a single word about how hot it was during filming. You can imagine how hot it was when you see the female staff member behind her holding an electric fan. I usually only got to meet her at dubbing sessions. She was always very excited, but I got to see a new side of her this time. She's someone who pays attention to smaller details.
"An optical illusion soccer ball?" - Of course, this was ad-libbed.
Her beloved dog Manru also appeared!

==============
==============
==============

Suppose this was fine for what it was, cool to see Rica have a cameo.
could have used Sakito and Genba not being written like idiots, just to teach the "No I in team" message

Re: Boonboomger 41 discussion thread
Oh hey, the writers finally remembered that Sakito is part of the team. It always bugs me when sixth Rangers are excluded from the team power-up, so I'm glad he finally got to use it today, even if it's the only time it'll happen.
Oh, hello Rika. Ngl, the craziness of her cameo got a solid laugh out of me.
Overall not a bad episode (Genba's and Sakito's dumbass fight not withstanding), but it feels like a weird choice to have it here when we're about a dozen episodes from the finale.
