Robert Baldwin passes away at 59

Gordo/Sazer-X, Ramirez/Kyouryuuger actor passed away after a two year fight with colon cancer on Dec 26, 2024. He was 59

She posted it on her own account because she wasn't able to get the passwords for his e-mail or social media before he passed

He was also in the Abaranger summer movie. I love Ramirez, and he always seemed a nice guy in interviews. Glad he was able to get that one last Ramirez voice in last year.

Some fun stories he's told about Kyoryuger in interviews before:

Firstly, he didn't know he was a Ranger until he got the script. It was pitched to him as "mentor type character for the team", and then he saw キョウリュウシアン in the script and had to look it up, cause he'd never encountered シアン before.

For the bit in episode 6 where he rides on a Deinochaser with Amy, he was apparently trying to be a gentleman and not put his hands anywhere he shouldn't, until she eventually just grabbed his arms and put them round her.

He also said he tended to hang out on set with "the guy in the Torin suit", since he figured the main guys wouldn't want an old man like him hanging around.

Oh, looks like Okamoto Jirou (Kintaro, Emerjason, Black and most bulky characters were him) was the guy in the TOrin suit. He seems like he'd be a fun guy to hang out with

I didn't even know he had a daughter. Apparently she got into acting because of him. She's only 23, still pretty young to be losing a dad

I think it wold be cool if his daughter were cast as a ranger. Has there ever been a parent-child combo that were both Sentai rangers?

It's shame to see a hero die. Ramirez always seemed like a good-hearted person who knew when to be tough.

When he was running a bar/restaurant I went once, just to meet him and see if I could get an autograph. I have to admit, I think I was a bit embarrassing because I was a bit starstruck. Gordo has been one of my favorite characters and a bit of an inspiration for me. I'm really glad I took the chance to go now because that opportunity gone now. I'll always cherish the mint in box Gordo he signed for me, even if I was an idiot and gave him the wrong marker so it's mostly rubbed off now.

Colon cancer, He must have put off getting his colonoscopy. They lowered the age of when you should start getting it to 45 from 50. If you are around that age, just got get it. It's a quick procedure. I had mines done last year and was positive for cancer, luckily it was caught early. I just needed surgery to take it out. 59 isn't that old and it could have been prevented. He will be miss.
