How is Bitter Gavv this strong? Shouldn't he be a total noob?
Oh valen, you're going to regret doing that. Not sure why Vram is withholding information from Hanto here. Doesn't make too much sense
Should we be worried that Dente has had Shouma all this time and that's when Bitter Shouma appears. Dente in disguise is pretty good
lol Sachika just wearing the theme of this episode "appearances are deception". So much for Shouma's secret identity
Love this confrongration between Sachika and Hanto because Sachika is like the good angel on his shoulder telling Hanto stuff that he already knows
Oh, Vram just noticed what everyone else failed to last time lol. Yes, his gavv is black
lol Shouma, just can't resist putting himself in danger. Sachika is the best surrogate mom for Shouma
looks like this is what bitter shouma raided. It is a snack food, uh-oh!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karint%C5%8D
Wow, Hanto looking good. Great outfit
Now where the hell are they? What is this building?
If Faiz had conversations like this, it would have been over in a third of the time lol. Way to not step on the miscommunication pitfalls, Komura! Inside speaking vocie, Hanto lol. Man, that was good
Gotta love it when bitter Gavv attacks normal people because that means most of those guys are stunt actors lol
Wow Gavv Twitter is pretty fast
Justt noticed bitter gavv's right eye is the one that glows
Pretty good sword fight for Rider. Love both of them summoning them
man, if Shouma fell in the water and disappeared for an episode, I would have been mad, but laughed about it a bit
So is bitter gavv gone for good?
oh, guess the previews can't help but ruining it

Re: KR Gavv 22
Sachika's T-shirt is a bit on the nose here for the plot.
I'm glad the secrets are out with Hanto. Theoretically he should now also tell the full truth to Sachika, since she basically asked him to.

I'm gonna be honest. This writing could have gone all sorts of wrong. But they somehow managed to do it all correctly.

Re: KR Gavv 22
I know this term gets thrown around a lot these days, but this show is PEAK CINEMA!
There is just so much to say about the writing of this show, and all of it is positive for me. This isn't just a kids show- it's a mature show. Literally every episode has managed to interweave bright and colorful with the dark and gritty; the bitter and the sweet in such a way that I can easily see all ages enjoying this. What's even better is that nothing is wasted. Each episode flows together and whatever was referenced in previous episodes always gets brought back and expanded upon with just enough new information that it stays fresh and interesting. Nothing overstays it's welcome; everything is perfectly balanced, as it should be.

Sachika is such a great person. Not only does she based her judgement on what she actually knows herself, and not blindly trusting what others told her or the gossips from the internet mob, she also still gives Shouma the chance to tell her his secret himself despite she already knew.
Characters talking to each other calmly to reconcile instead of forcefully prolonging the conflict for drama. It's such a nice breath of fresh air.
I'm loving Komura's writing for this show so far. Nice balance on comedy and seriousness, and characters who'll try to resolve problems using brains instead of going straight to brawn.
Looks like Hanto is getting some dark chocolate from Suga next week.

The guy with a stomach mouth
Moved by Sachika's words, Hanto went to find Shoma. In the script, it was a very long two-person scene that stretched to three pages! It was a big highlight for both Chinen-kun and Hino-kun. In the script, it said it happened in "a place with a beautiful view." But since it was a very important scene where the two of them confessed their true feelings to each other, the location was carefully selected, and a high floor of a building with a panoramic view of the city was chosen.
(It was unfortunate cloudy, but the view was still beautiful.)
Komura's script was brilliant, captivating the audience with three pages of acting by the two, but there were also some clever angles and impressive scenes using reflections from the windows of buildings, making for a very worthwhile scene.
Since we've ended up talking a lot of serious stuff, I'll post some behind-the-scenes shots of Chinen as an octopus.
When the camera is pointed at him, Chinen's spirit of service is still as strong as ever lol

Blow away the bitterness!
A double transformation by Shouma and Hanto! As was the case in episode 12 after his true identity was revealed, a double transformation at an important turning point in the story is always exciting!
Cooperative fight between CakeKing Gavv and Donut Valen! There were lots of fun sweet-themed scenes this time, too, like putting cream in donuts and flying them.
The action using the donuts as a platform was also amazing! Suit actors Nawata and Kaji were hung from the ceiling and the donuts were composited in with CG later, but it was an impressive action scene despite the difficulty of moving in the air.
Bitter Gavv, who has gotten used to fighting since last time, was not giving up either! He captured the SparkinGummy Gochizo and fed it to the BittergaBlade. The techniques of Kamen Rider's weapons are decided in advance because they are toy specifications, but how to show them effectively is where the director and action director's skills come into play!
Gavv and Valen's special moves defeated Bitter Gavv, but the impact shoved Shoma into a dangerous situation! It's not the footage, in this scene Chinen-kun was suspended by a wire. I was nervous watching the filming and wondering if he was scared, but Chinen faced the shoot bravely!

==============

Re: KR Gavv 22
just when we think the drama is solved they end us on a cliffhanger that could but hopefully wont lead to more.
Really liked the scene in the big office building with the two of them apologizing to one another and solving the situation like actual adults.
Fight with bitter was good, more swordfights are needed
Sachika needs to be a rider, she deserves to be more involved.
Glad Bitter Gavv is still going next week but where's Hanto in the fight? more drama?

Holy fuck what is with these absolutely on-point messages?! Why are people being sensible and not *dramatic*?! Don't tell someone else's secret, let them tell it when they're ready? Listen to other people's side of the story? Trust what you know not what you hear?
How is this show this fucking good? Why is it absolutely knocking it out of the park?

Re: KR Gavv 22
That was really fun, and continues what Gavv's always done excelled at--clever and palpable fight choreography, confronting the tragic aspects of Shouma's scenario without sliding into forced conflict or grimdark, and letting the characters be actual people.
Side note, but I love how cell phones and social media are being used as actual tools in this show; KR has been giving its protagonists phones for a while now, but social media would be an excellent tool for tracking monster attacks, and this is the first time I've seen the heroes (and even villains here) use it that way.

Re: KR Gavv 22
It is a pretty effective tool for getting characters where they need to and makes sense practically in our world. But if they ever need guys to magically show up to a place, they can always say "oh a Gochizo led me here". Komura can h ave her cake and eat it tooMxylv wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2025 2:42 pm Side note, but I love how cell phones and social media are being used as actual tools in this show; KR has been giving its protagonists phones for a while now, but social media would be an excellent tool for tracking monster attacks, and this is the first time I've seen the heroes (and even villains here) use it that way.

All this buildup from previous episodes about secrets and identities...
Holy shit this episode caps this part absolutely sublimely.
As it stands, Gavv has now become my outright favorite rider series for the past 5 years at least.
Hit after hit, I hope it doesn't fall off in the second half...

Excellent episodes as always! I'm not sure if it's by mistake but I noticed a "7" in the line at the 17:46 mark. I also noticed a "4" in the line at 16:13 in the Boonboomger 48 episode.
