After 3 months (or what feels like it) we get a full cast opening. Welcome back blue, just in time!

Shirabe just went to the police lol?

Uh-oh, looks like they're gonna arrest Japanese elon musk. Why is the nephew character here? Is he a toei exec's kid?

The guy who plays Tokoyari has a pretty great villain look. But I gotta say, so far the human conspirators aspect of the Boonboomgers... it just doesn't rev my engine. It has potential but it's not really realized, especially where Maimi is concerned. She fired a gun one time? Why was she here and what did she do that the other two guys couldn't have? It just feels like the three conspirators could have been one centralized human traitor to tie everything together

LOL, look at Blue with his spinning duel pistoling

"Oh hey, maybe these kids have a point"

Oh Grantu, if only you had any sort of relationship with the Boonboomgers. This would have been such a more epic battle. What a cool but totally wasted character

Quick, everyone needs to stop screaming and get positive vibes, like the end to Ghostbusters 2

All we need is for someone to photoshop in michael jackson from the genesis game beating up the Boonboomgers

Oh right, Mira was wearing a wedding dress under her BoonBoom suit

The helmetless transformations are never not cool

Bundorio Bunderas ugh. At least we can agree on Byun Diesel

Come on Shirabe, you could have put a little more effort in that

Oh no, his cool hat. It had four wings!

Why did his hat set on fire lol. So dramatic till the end

Poor Taiya and his surrogate dad. Wait, are Taiya's parents dead? I'm not sure if I remember now

I'm very amused by the bent up pot and other stuff in the Three Seater's truck

Oh Maimi was a good guy all along. Sure, why not

Are those the BBG uniforms that they wear in the bonus footage? If so, it took forever to show up. These suits are awesome, I wish they showed up earlier. Right shoulder patch looks like Peed

What a cold handoff lol. Not even a handshake

Nothing surprising, but pretty entertaining ending all the way through.

Just plugging the all series thread here:

But overall, alright series! Pretty consistently a B/B- for me. A work horse of a Sentai series with some lows and not a lot of highs for me, but pretty consistent overall? I just don't think I'll think back on this series with the same fondness as Boukenger or Go-Onger which I'd say is on the same level of just-okay Sentai. I'll discuss more in the all-series thread

We often don't get a proper opening in the finales, so I'm glad they did it this week to add Chassiro back in.

Not gonna lie, the BBG is kind of disappointing. It feels like we were promised this impressive thing early on, and then they realised they had no money to show it properly, so they chickened out. At least this week we finally got to see them in the BBG jackets the cast have been wearing in marketing for months.

I've enjoyed Boonboomger overall. I would rank it as 2nd best Reiwa series, because nothing will ever beat Donbrothers. That is always the only one.
Seen:
Super Sentai: Fiveman onwards
Kamen Rider: Ichigou-Skyrider, all the Heisei/Reiwa series except the American shows.
Precure: DokiDoki-Go Pri
Metal Heroes: Gavan
Other: Spiderman, Power Rangers

and so ends the first series I've followed weekly since Shinkenger, it had been awhile lol

Final fights felt a tad rushed but they were good enough, a shame they cant do the BBG, maybe in some sort of special extra movie in the future then.

didn't expect Tokoyari's assistant to be a double agent.

bring on the Boonboomgers vs. King-Ohger

I think TFS Abridged Trunks sums up how I feel about this episode perfectly.

Everything with Spindo and Risk was alright at best, yet wasn't fleshed out enough for this finale to have a real impact, you know? Even their deaths just felt lackluster. Spindo arguably had the cooler death by choosing to go out on his terms, but the logic behind his demise was just -again- anti-climatic. Boondario's resurrection did put a smile on my face, and the battle damaged helmet transformation was neat, I just didn't find myself drawn in by it all, you know? If I were in charge of this, I'd have included some scenes showing global news covering of what was going on with the Hashiriyan's, on top of having children and adults from around the world cheer on the BoonBoomgers. That, and made some form of Battlizer for Boondorio and Taiya at the end there.

All in all, Boonboomger is an alright Sentai series, the finish just wasn't that good.

Glad it's over. Felt like it was falling apart in the final 10 episodes. Still doesn't feel like they reached the finish line. I just couldn't get into it which is sad cause they had me till like the half way point.

REEEAALLY glad it's over.

I'm finally getting caught up on my Sentai. On the whole this was a pretty by-the-numbers kind of episode. But one thing did surprise me: the locale for the final boss battle.

Normally Sentai films the boss battle in a fairly empty and open (and flame-resistant) location, such as a quarry, or the ruined city set, etc. But this... was in a park. A lush, green park.

To be sure, I'm not knocking it. Having the heroes fight somewhere that isn't so spartan and grey is a nice chance of pace. But at the same time, it's such a low-key location that it's hilarious.

"Where do we want to film the last fight? The quarry? The middle of the city? Maybe out at the Tokyo Dome? Nah, let's just go to the local park!" It's very MMPR.

And the poor wardrobe department. Keeping that white wedding dress from getting stained green, even this late into the fall, must have been hell.

And you've gotta love seeing all of the Boonboomger actors wearing their respective suits helmetless. We get that shot once a year, and it's glorious every time. I'm glad Toei has kept that around.

Seriously though, where the heck did Blue's actor go? You can't tell me they had him semi-AWOL for 4 straight episodes by choice. He must have been off filming something else, right?
The guy who plays Tokoyari has a pretty great villain look. But I gotta say, so far the human conspirators aspect of the Boonboomgers... it just doesn't rev my engine. I do love face villains. And I love that they had several people outright conspiring with the aliens (something the Gokaiger 10 movie averted by making them hidden aliens). But I can't argue that you're wrong here. Their overall lack of screen time and importance means that their impact on the story is limited, for both the good and the bad.
Oh Maimi was a good guy all along. Sure, why not
Yeah, that pretty much came out of nowhere, I feel.

By the time 48 rolled around and we still hadn't seen a BBG, I figured they were saving it for a post-series movie. Consequently, I was more surprised than anything at the trailer for the VS movie, which clearly slows that we aren't getting a race. It's an unforced error on the series' part.
