I had moderate expectations, but that was better than I thought. Seeing that Fuyuno can act and howl definitely assuaged some concerns I had about his performance. Both villain and heroes have cool looking mechs. The fights were good and creative. We saw the other members, but didn't rush through them unnecessarily. I mean, I don't think we even saw blue yet

This feels like the anniversary that Zenkaiger wish it was. Please, just let the story be good

That was...fine. I'd have liked some more non-Red action, but honestly at this point I'm really just sick of "special" shows. Zenkaiger and Donbrothers were both anniversary shows AND wacky experimentation. King-Ohger wasn't an anniversary show, but it was wacky experimentation. Boonboomger was, at last, a return to a "normal" Sentai, and I'm disappointed we're back on the anniversary bandwagon after only just leaving it. Especially when they've had to start renumbering Sentais to do it a year early.

I dunno. I'm just struggling to be hyped for this because frankly after Boonboomger I was looking forward to at least a few years of normalcy. After Gozyuger they really need to lay off this stuff until the 60th at least.

That was a pretty good start, I like how the promo made it look like Tega sword defeated all the robo's when it actually showed up to save them lol.

Hoeru is ok for now, I liked him using sausages on a stick to beat the thief, was funny.
Villains seem ok, dunno why the bad guys calling hismelf a savior and the girl is saying they're protecting 2 worlds when theyre actively trying to destroying one.

Wait a minute Taiya, your not Gira that's the wrong Costume. I really hope thats the thing this year, we bring back old reds or just sentai actors in general but they're in different suits. for example if you cant get Magirangers Kai then bring back Tsubasa, would be cool to see him as a red now.

The Mech battle was pretty good, i enoyed the lack of CGI, although they made up for it in the regular fight with that crazy street fighter combo.

Tegasword makes a contract with humans chosen by the rings, and hosts the Ring Battle to decide who is number one. Is this a Ryuki in Sentai?

That was Handou Taiya's actor, and he transformed into King-Ohger lol.

Face villains! The Three Seaters were awesome, but sometimes villains just need a face. Fire Candle really chewed up the scenes!

After downplaying the robot aspects for three years, this year seems to be focus on them. The robot suits are made for mobility so hopefully we'll see lots on individual robot fights.

Impressive robot battles! What is the spectacular robot graveyard?

At the beginning of the story, there was a scene in the "robot graveyard" where fallen robots resided. This spectacular scene was created by master Special Effects Director Butsuda Hiroshi.

When Producer Matsuura told him about this project, he requested that "I want to make a catchy and powerful opening scene" and "I want to make a work that emphasizes robot battles," so he decided to shoot on an open set in order to aim for realistic and powerful robot battles.

Because it was shot on an open set, it's different from normal studio shooting:
- Sparks, smoke and flames from a huge explosion could be reproduced with real explosives!
- The realistic visual that makes use of natural light from sunlight was amazing!
- High degree of freedom in camera angles allows for dynamic shooting!

The robot graveyard scene was shot in one day, but the preparation period, from selecting the robots to creating the storyboard and art designing the robot graveyard, took a lot of time. Including other scenes, open filming took a total of more than two weeks.

"When we shot the scene where the Tega Sword rises up over the many fallen robots, all the staff were moved," said Director Butsuda. Every year, Director Butsuda approaches filming with great care, trying to highlight the individuality of each Sentai special effects production and making sure no two scenes are the same. He has been involved in Toei special effects as a director for over 35 years. Some even say that he is the "number one special effects directors of all time in terms of the number of productions he has been involved in!"


Robbery
Director Tazaki told us, "The scene where Jumbo frankfurter breaks is a scene that many staff members worked hard on. In fact, this scene represents the best of each staff member's skills. I feel a special attachment to it. It was a difficult scene."

The close-up scene in which the frankfurter was stabbed with a knife and meat juices splattering was shot separately. As you can see in the photo below, on set, a frankfurter that was cooked to release the most juices was stabbed repeatedly with the knife, and we continued to film through trial and error until we got the right shot. (Note: The frankfurters used during the shoot were delicious.)


Wooden frankfurters were made for the action scenes.



Hoeru's colleague was played by Iuchi Haruhi-san, who played Boom Red in Boonboomger. His aura was so different that many people probably didn't recognise him.
He said himself, "It was a completely different role from my usual, so it was fresh and fun."


Hoeru's room
Hoeru's room is chock full of ideas for living a life without money.
- Bread crusts are Hou's staple food?!
- Growing pea sprouts and cultivating them again and again?!
- Recycling milk cartons, canned goods, etc. into small item storage!


If you take a look at the decoration on he side of the tuna can, you can see a glimpse of Master Sha-Fu from "Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger". As expected from prop artist Yodonawa, the work is very detailed!!



No. One World
[Special Attack Force Leader Fire Candle]
Fire Candle is played by Sambongi Daisuke-san. He's a character who is well liked, but sometimes his impulsiveness can be a flaw. His powerful performance as a villain is intimidating. The part in the hangar scene where he knocked on the head of one of the footsoldiers was apparently ad-libbed by Sanbongi-san, and he was happy that Director Tazaki gave the OK to it.

[Technical Commander Bouquet]
Bouquet of Compassion is so cute! She's played by Marupi-san. Even though Bouquet of Compassion is a villain, she warns Hoeru of the dangers of the Ring of Destruction, so you can see that she's not just a villain, right? Before filming, Marupi herself was struggling to think of how to bring out Bouquet's individuality. She wanted a character who was kind, but also had a few quirks...

[Fire Candle Robot - King Candle]
King Candel, like Fire Candle, is a character that evokes the image of flame. Director Butsuda said, "We could create flames through CG, but we wanted to actually shoot the footage with flamethrowers in both hands." That's right. These flames were real. When you use real flames, the smoke and ash are more realistic and powerful.

When creating King Candle's sculpture, he tried and tested how to get the flames around his hands. He wanted to shoot flames from both his shoulders and his head, but gave up on that idea because it was dangerous (bitter laugh).

King Candel had a sword, but he used a wooden sword (that we could have a flaming sword for action scenes) and a non-burnable sword (for close-ups). Staff members were on hand with fire extinguishers and took all necessary safety precautions when filming.


First Henshin
And after the robot battle was over, Hoeru transformed for the first time as he descended from the robot. For this scene, Fuyuno-san was attached to wires, and slid down a slide-like platform in front of a green screen, pulling the wires and jumping in time with the sound of the transformation.



Head Writer
The script will be written by Akiko Inoue. She has worked on many famous anime series such as "Maho Girls PreCure!" (2016) and "Butt Detective" (2012), has also worked on "Kamen Rider Gatchard" (2024).

A a message from Inoue-sensei!

"To everyone who is familiar with the previous Sentai works, and to those who are watching for the first time, this "Number One Sentai Gozyuger" marks the 50th anniversary of the Sentai, and I hope to make it a fun work that will also be a new step towards the next 50 years!" she said in a passionate message.

迫力のロボ戦！壮絶なロボ墓場とは？
物語の冒頭、倒れたロボたちが並ぶ「ロボ墓場」のシーンが登場。

この壮大なシーンを手がけたのは、特撮界の名匠・佛田洋監督。
松浦Pからこの企画の話があった時、「キャッチーな迫力ある冒頭シーンにしたい」「ロボ戦を重視した作品にしたい」との要望を受け、リアルで迫力あるロボ戦を目指し、オープンセットでの撮影を決定したそうです。

そこで、皆様もご覧になられたとおり、オープンセットでの撮影のため
通常のスタジオ撮影とは違い、
□巨大な爆発による火の粉、煙や炎を本物の爆薬で再現できております！
□太陽光による 自然光を活かしたリアルな映像美が素晴らしいです！
□カメラアングルの自由度が高く、ダイナミックな撮影が可能になっております！

ロボ墓場のカットは１日の撮影でしたが、ロボのセレクトから絵コンテ作成、ロボ墓場の美術設計など準備期間に多大な時間がかかっています。
他のシーンも含めて、オープン撮影はのべ２週間以上、におよびました。

「いくつもの倒れたロボの上にテガソードが立ちあがるシーンを撮影したとき、スタッフ全員が感動していました」と佛田監督は語っておりました。
佛田監督は毎年、戦隊特撮において作品ごとに個性を際立たせ、同じシーンにならないように工夫をこらして、撮影に臨んでおります。
35年以上にわたり東映特撮に監督として携わられ、ご自身も「携わった特撮作品数、歴代特撮監督ナンバーワン！！」と仰っていました！！
1年間、宜しくお願い致します。

そして、なんと、同僚の【 堤 なつめ役：井内悠陽さん】も登場！！
「爆上戦隊ブンブンジャー」でブンレッド/範道大也を演じられた井内さんですが、あまりに雰囲気が違うので、気づかなかった方も多いのではないでしょうか？
ご本人も「いつもとは全く違う役だったので、新鮮で楽しかったです」と語っておりました。

田崎監督もこのシーンについて
「ジャンボフランクの破けるカットは多くのスタッフにご苦労をおかけして出来上がったカットです。実はこのカットに、それぞれのスタッフの技術の粋が結集しています。
思い入れもひとしおです。」と教えてくださいました。大変なシーンでした。

刃物でフランクフルトを刺し、肉汁が飛ぶ、寄りのシーンは別撮りでした。
下記の写真のように現場では、肉汁が一番出るように調理したフランクフルトを何度もナイフに刺して、良いカットが撮れるまで、試行錯誤しながら撮影しておりました。
※撮影で使用したフランクフルトは美味しくいただきました。

木製で作成したアクション用のフランクフルトまで用意し、撮影しておりました。

吠の部屋には、お金がない中で生活の知恵が詰まっていました。
□パンの耳が吠の主食？！
□豆苗を育てて再生栽培！？
□牛乳パック・缶詰など小物入れにリサイクル！

ちらっと見える、証明写真が入っているツナ缶の装飾を見てみると
『獣拳戦隊ゲキレンジャー』に登場するマスターシャーフーが見え隠れしていますね。
さすが、装飾の淀名和さん、芸が細かいです！！

ロボ戦が終わった後、吠が初めてここで変身します。
ロボから吠が降りながら初めて変身するシーンです。

このシーンは、体に吊りのワイヤーを仕込んだ冬野さんが、グリーンバックの中、滑り台のような台からすべり降りて、変身音に合わせながら、タイミング良くワイヤーを引いたり、ジャンプをしたりして撮影しておりました。

ノーワンワールド　ブライダン城へ向かいましょう！！！　

【ブライダン 特攻隊長（敵幹部）ファイヤキャンドル役：三本木大輔さん】
ファイヤキャンドルは仲間思いで人望は厚いのですが、直情的すぎるのがたまにキズなキャラクターです。
悪役の迫力あるお芝居は凄みを感じ、あの姿で現れるとかなり怖いです。
格納庫のシーンで戦闘員「アーイー」のうちの一人にファイヤキャンドルが頭をノックした部分は三本木さんのアドリブだそうで、田﨑監督がOKしてくれたことが嬉しかったそうです。

【ブライダン　テクニカル隊長（敵幹部）ブーケ役：まるぴさん】
『慈愛のブーケ』さん、超絶かわいい！！！！ですよね。
特にブーケは、悪役でありながら、『慈愛のブーケ』という名のもと「破滅の指輪」の危険性を吠に忠告するなど、ただの悪役ではないのが分かりますよね？
撮影前、ご本人的にどうブーケの個性を出していくのか考えあぐねていらっしゃいました。
優しさもありつつ一癖も二癖もあるキャラクターでいてほしい・・・

【ファイヤキャンドルのロボ・キングキャンデラー】
皆様も観てお分かりの通り、ファイヤキャンドルと同じく、キングキャンデラーは炎をイメージさせるキャラクターです。　
話は戻りまして、佛田監督は、「合成で炎を出すこともできますが、やはり実際にいわゆる火炎放射器を両手に仕込んで映像を撮影したい」と、思われたそうです。
そうなんです。この炎は本物です。
キングキャンデラーの造形を作成している段階で細かい修正をおこない、手のあたりにどう炎を仕込もうか試行錯誤していったそうです。
本音だと、両肩と頭も燃やしたいなぁと思われたそうですが、危険なので断念されたそうです（苦笑）
実際に燃えている炎だと煙や燃えカスなどリアルで迫力が違いますよね。
キングキャンデラーというロボは剣をもっているキャラクターですが、
撮影では、木造製の燃やせる剣（アクション用）と燃やせない剣（アップ用）を使い分けて撮影しています。

「魔法つかいプリキュア！」（2016）「おしりたんてい」（2012）など数々の有名アニメ作品を手掛け、「仮面ライダーガッチャード」（2024年）では松浦Pと作品をご一緒されています。

「これまでの戦隊作品に慣れ親しんだ皆さん、そして、これからはじめて観る方々へ。この『ナンバーワン戦隊ゴジュウジャー』が戦隊50周年目であり、これから先の50年に向けた新たな一歩にもなる楽しい作品にしていければと思っております！」と熱いメッセージをいただきました。

If he kicked the robber in the opposite direction I'd have agree he shouldn't be fired, but acting heroic when actively endangering the people around is not the hero you thought you were.

I mean, even in the US it's pretty common for stores to require their employees to just hand over the money and not attempt to resist. Insurance will cover any losses, police are better equipped to handle the situation, and hospital bills are expensive.
